The tourism industry in Bhutan is relatively young having been initiated only in 1974 at the time of the coronation of the fourth King. The industry totally operated by the government initially, in response to changing operational requirements was first corporatized in 1983 and finally with the privatisation initiative of the government, privatised towards the end of 1991.

Backpacking across Asia is an extraordinary feat it's an adventure that may make you face the human toll of poverty, the terrain of the Himalayas or say goodbye to your arm in a tigers mouth but the true draw of this wild region would be the rich landscapes, ancient architecture and ruins soaked in history and culture.

Being enticed to travel from Cambodia, China, Nepal and Bhutan, I want to start my research, build a bank of knowledge and inspiration. Before I map out the logistics of this adventure. I have tumultuous list of unanswered questions like "what will I need to do the have WiFi everywhere we travel?"

But the experience is what is most important. It will be key to learn from others time in the regions to enhance this immersive experience. This is the documentation of that process. Please enjoy.
