The state of X-Men: Days Of Future Past's Sentinel. It looks like a giant extractor fan! Bah Gawd, I cannot wait until the rights revert back to Marvel.

Is it too much to ask that movie superhero costumes bear some resemblance to that of their comic book counterpart? Is it too much to ask that Wolverine wears his iconic blue and yellow ensemble?

That's one thing you can praise the guys at Marvel Studios for; they never #$%*@? around with the characters costumes. All they do is update them. Compare The Avengers poster to the X-Men poster: The Avengers stand together in their costumes full of colour and they look awesome! By contrast the X-Men are posing in their black leather outfits and wouldn't look out of place in a sex dungeon.

Holy headache, Batman! I'm going for a lie down.

What The Fuck?!

I gave up writing a review of Royal Rumble because, let’s face it, nobody cares. There’s an elephant in the room that has not only overshadowed the event, but has crushed it into dust.

Daniel Bryan.

In my Royal Rumble predictions, I predicted that if Daniel Bryan lost to Bray Wyatt, then he would not only be a participate in the Royal Rumble match but that he would win on book a spot in the main event at WrestleMania XXX.

He duly lost to Wyatt in a fantastic match. He did not, however, enter the Rumble.

The fans in Pittsburgh were irate at Bryan’s loss to Wyatt. Dominating the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with “Daniel Bryan” and “Yes!” chants.

Little did they know - or WWE - know that worse was still to come.

When Rey Mysterio entered the Royal Rumble match at number 30, he got BOOED. Let that sink in. Rey Mysterio, a guy who’s been babyface his entire WWE career, was booed because he wasn’t Daniel Bryan.

For the fans it was the last straw  and they shat on the Rumble match just like WWE had just shat on them.

When Seth Rollins eliminated Mysterio, the fans CHEERED. Roman Reigns became the babyface of the match when it came down to him and Batista. This was because the fans knew that Batista was going to win, meaning that he’ll be facing Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and thus turning WrestleMania into Triple H & Friends.

After Batista eliminated Reigns to win the Rumble, WWE had to turn down the crowd noise and increase the volume of Batista’s music. It didn’t work. We could all still hear the crowd.

But you can’t blame Batista. You can’t blame Rey Mysterio. It’s not their fault that they’re NOT Daniel Bryan. The finger of blame has to be pointed at Vince McMahon and - to an extent - Paul Levesque. They’re the ones who have decided not to listen to the fans anymore. The same fans who made Stone Cold Steve Austin. The same fans who made The Rock. Yes, Stone Cold and The Rock had compelling characters, but if the fans hadn’t bought into them they wouldn’t of hit the heights that they did.

Daniel Bryan his a phenomenon that WWE is failing to capitalise on. Had Bryan won the Rumble, WrestleMania buy rates would have skyrocketed. That’s how over he is. His story is also the best story that WWE has. Unfortunately it’s also a story that WWE hadn’t written.

This is the other problem with WWE. The creative is abysmal. People with non-wrestling backgrounds are writing wrestling storylines and they’re failing miserably. The two best stories in recent history were CM Punk and now Daniel Bryan. Both were organic. What happened to Vince? What happened to the guy who came up with the rise of The Rock at Survivor Series ‘98, Kurt Angle’s rookie year and the incredible Rock/Triple H rivalry in 2000?I miss THAT Vince.

A lot can be attributed to the fact that back in the Attitude Era WWE was a private company, now it’s publicly owned so Vince has more voices to listen to. But his is the voice that matters. You can also put a lot of WWE’s problems down to Vince’s obsession to be socially accepted by main stream media. It’ll never happen.

This morning Vince - hopefully - will realise that RAW will be hijacked tonight by Daniel Bryan chants, and he’ll be making plans to appease the fans. I like to think that but I doubt it.

Fans should get used to the reality of no Daniel Bryan WrestleMania main event. No WrestleMania moment.

Fuck you, WWE. Fuck. You.

Royal Rumble 2014 Predictions

The 27th annual Royal Rumble emanates from Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center as the Road To WrestleMania XXX truly begins.

WWE Tag Team Championship: Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs New Age Outlaws (Royal Rumble kickoff)

The Brotherhood are the best tag team champions WWE have produced in years. But there are two overarching stories in this match - and neither of them involve The Rhodes Brothers being tag champs.

The first story is that The Usos WILL become tag team champions and with The Outlaws featuring prominent on television as part of The Authority, it makes sense to have Jimmy & Jay take the straps off of them.

The second is that Rhodes and Goldust are nearing the end, and now would be the right time to take the belts off of them and start the build towards brother vs brother at WrestleMania.

Prediction: New Age Outlaws win to become the NEW tag team champions.

Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt

This is a story that WWE royally fucked up. After Bryan’s “Austin 3:16” moment on RAW to weeks ago, I can’t shake the feeling that this won’t be the only match that Bryan is in tonight.

My feeling is that if Bryan beats Wyatt then he’s NOT in the Rumble match. If Bryan loses then he becomes my hot favourite to win the Rumble and have a rematch against Wyatt at Elimination Chamber, with Bray Wyatt playing the traditional WrestleMania roadblock.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt beats Daniel Bryan.

The Big Show vs Brock Lesnar

After the Show/Lesnar segment on RAW I’d happily pay just to see this match, it was a real “take my money” moment.

The build to this match has been good, probably the best build to any match on the card tonight. But Brock Lesnar didn’t come back to job to Big Show. Losing to John Cena is one thing. Falling victim to Cunt Triple H’s (credit: OSW Review) shovel is understandable if not palatable. But Show is nor going over Lesnar.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar beats The Big Show.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena vs Randy Orton

Whatever happens tonight, let’s make one thing clear: John Cena WILL NOT be going into WrestleMania as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He doesn’t need the belt and - in my opinion - he should be beginning to go the Chris Jericho route of elevating the next crop of talent.

There are two possible contenders for Orton - Batista and Bryan - so it makes more sense for Orton to be champion going into WrestleMania.

The finish will be screwy to ensure an Elimination Chamber rematch.

Prediction: Randy Orton wins to RETAIN the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Royal Rumble Match

With Daniel Bryan’s Royal Rumble match status unknown, there are only two realistic winners of the Royal Rumble.

CM Punk, who’s on a collision course with Triple H & The Authority. There’s no better way for Punk to bring The Authority down than by getting a shot and winning the title that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have broken their backs to protect.

The other is Batista, he has history with Orton and Triple H and can play on their Evolution connection. He also made a clear mission statement on RAW: he wants to win the strap at WrestleMania XXX.

There’s no way that WWE spent all that time and money to bring Batista back to not have him win the Rumble. CM Punk will be screwed by The Authority and he’ll head to ‘Mania to face Triple H.

Prediction: Batista wins the 2014 Royal Rumble match.

Of course, IF Daniel Bryan IS in the Rumble match, then all best are off.

Paramount have lured Oscar-winning director John Kahrs from House of Mouse, to direct Paramount's in-house animated movie Shredd. Kahrs was behind Disney Pixar's Ratatouille and The Incredibles. He won an Oscar for Disney Animation's beautiful short film Paperman. There's not much know about Shredd at this point, but snaring an Oscar winner from Disney to helm it is certainly a good sign for the film.
