no one is saying you can't headcanon kris as transmasc nonbinary. more power to you if you wanna do that.
but people who make the argument "dont speculate about a fictional nonbinary character's coercively assign sex at birth" are doing two things.
1) they're only ever saying this about transfem readings. in doing so, they are being exclusionary and enforcing the belief that nonbinary expression is only allowed if certain people are doing it.
and 2) they're acting like we're pulling this theory out of our ass and imagining kris as being forced to grow up as a boy for no reason. they completely ignore the textual evidence of mancountry, the insecurity kris feels of not living up to their brother, the implicit cisheteronormative biases held by hometown, and the inherent connection to characters and items in the game that are overt symbols of transfemininity.
again, believe whatever headcanon you want. but trying to tell people to shut up because they played the game and relate to the main character is fucking stupid.
