Hey that’s pretty neato.
So good news, bad news. I set a goal to hit the QT for Nationals, I smashed that goal. I was told at the beginning of the meet Nationals was sold out with a long waiting list. So I decided to pivot, I still wanted that total we set out to hit but I also wanted to push the deadlift and pull 227.5 in a meet. Smoked that too! Went 9/9 on the day with 27 white lights. I’m really happy we drew up a plan and stayed with it. I ended up breaking 7 state records, medaling and hitting the QT. Great day!
My “check the box” board worked great with daily accountability and for my weight loss for this prep. Proud of myself for sticking with that as well.

Probably eating well over maintenance but I’ve been working my ass off on another house this week. I feel pretty recovered from the meet. That was the best I’ve ever felt walking away honestly.
Working on plans for phase ||. I’ll do a proper meet recap soon. Waiting on the meet results to be uploaded and some meet photos.
Flat Brooksy is ready! Weighed in at 120kg so undershot just a bit. It is nice getting that out of the way with the 24 hour weigh in. Almost forgot my undies been two years since I’ve been on the platform I hate “tighty whities” haha.
Swam some laps in the hotel pool did some hot cold contrast in the hot tub. Now I’m ready to eat and put my feet up. I got some business to finish in the morning!

Dang that’s pretty crazy spot on with maintenance calories. Especially with the reduction in expenditure. This week has been very light. Did SBD 3x5 at 50% on Monday and I’m pretty much done. May hit some light body building type stuff today just to keep blood flowing.

My body is beat up right now. I feel like this is pretty much the case when you’re a couple weeks out or 10 days for me. But I’m having some fairly concerning pain behind my knee it’s locking up my leg. I have found a stretch that helps it but hopefully the chiropractor can give me some relief tomorrow. This feels more like nerve issue but I could be wrong.
Have a light bench day today and openers Friday, next week basically off so almost there. 🤘
See this is when the devil is messin with your head so you have a shitty day or say fuck it. Not happening. I know I’m walking two miles a day, drinking the water and hitting my macros. It could be inflammation response from the intensity increasing at the gym or just my body holding more water while it’s still healing post-virus.
I do see a good bit of reduction in my back. Not so much my belly but last on first off for me. I see it most in my legs first tbh. Still averaging 2# a week so can’t be mad at that especially since I’m not crash dieting. 🤘
Felt like today was my first day back training post wuhan. Had singles on squats. Singles on bench and a lot of heavy holds (shown) everything moved so well I got a bit excited. 🤘

Im good with this. Body has been fighting to heal post Covid. My weight was down to 266 last Friday and that was not the way I want to lose. My plan is to finish up this week in deficit and next week go in to maintenance cals for a couple weeks as I finish up prep.
Not happy about the blood sugar. Being sick I lost my habit of walking 10 mins after each meal. Especially last meal when I’m most sedentary so have to get back on that today!
Drilling set up. Not a lot of pop today.
Non scale win, wasn’t even close to being able to wear this six weeks ago. I mean I could barely get the ends together. I’ll stick to my fat boy belt for this meet, but I’m excited I’m closer to wearing this one. I really want an SBD lever belt but I have to get into the 250s before I’ll pay that. 🤘

How about that Covid diet?
Man Saturday through Monday was rough! Tuesday the body aches chilled and today I feel about 80%. It comes in waves though. Haven’t really been able to eat much. Yesterday was the first day I tried to push the food just for strength. That Paxlovid fucks up my stomach but it beats the hospital.
Hoping I’m back on track by the weekend to salvage this thing. It was a scary few days for me. My wife’s in Texas and going through this alone, taking care of my dogs and assholes still bugging me from work was a lot. Oh and my coaches response to my Covid news was he wasn’t going to be able to game day coach me for the meet, which was the whole reason I brought him back. Still super annoyed about that. Ok I’m done bitching. I’m alive, still fighting this shit and hopefully kick it by the weekend. 🤘
Well shit. I had 5 weeks of 100% compliance and today I popped for Covid. My first bout with this but obvs I’m not going to be training or cardio 40 mins a day. I don’t have much of an appetite so just going to try to let my body heal up and go from there.

Been pretty steady around this weight since Saturday. I don’t want to make any drastic changes just yet. Not really sure want I want to do, as my fat intake is already fairly low. I think I’ll increase my water first. I’m painting a house and have been drinking way too many diet cokes.
They’re not all going to be good ones. I spent the morning on a ladder painting then the afternoon mowing. Hit up the gym but I knew I was spent as I walked in. I have tripled this weight. Today it was a grinder. Heading into this meet I’ve been trying all this new shit and I know better. Trying to lift in heels, new stiff wrist wraps, changing my grip. Just a bunch of dumb shit and I know better.
Got to get back to basics and handle my business.

Damn, good week. I’ve been painting a house this week so I’m burning a ton of extra calories. Yesterday I was starving by the time I got home but I stayed on target. Note to self: since I cut my sugar and snacking I’m not craving it near as much. I’ve been going to the grocery store every 2-3 days for fresh food as well. I keep saying I need to schedule a free meal so maybe this week I will.
Training is coming along nicely. Still doing a ton of rep work. I’m going to PT and Chiro right now trying to get my low back and hip sorted. I’ve cut a lot of shift out of my squat. Bench feels great. I picked up some new inzer sleeves. Man they’re a bitch to put on and off, but much stronger sleeves than I’m used to.
Food has been spot on. No cheats. Hoping for a good weigh in Wednesday!
