Now this is a progress picture!!!!! I am utterly shocked that this is the same person a little over one year apart!
A NSV and a scale victory today! Today, I weighed in at my lowest in 6 years- the weight that I was before I got pregnant with my oldest. And I bought some new jeans in a size down (size 8) and they fit great! 😊
Here’s a fun non-scale victory: updating my license to have my UGW on it (and I’m not lying about my weight this time lmao) and I don’t hate my picture (even though I look bewildered)
My last license said I was 185 pounds but that was a goal weight at the time and I was really 50lbs heavier idk why I did that. But now it says 145!

OMG with women's sizes!! I have been trying to get into a size 26w Faded Glory brand of jeans for literally years (top 3 pics). I was FINALLY able to at least button them today, but still couldn't zip them without a lot of effort. BUT, when I tried on a size 24w in Levi Strauss brand, they fit -- I could button, zip and even sit down and breathe in them! Argh!
I thought I had salvaged at least one of every size of jean that I owned after the flooding from Hurricane Helene so I'd always have something I use for this and at least one pair that would fit, but obviously, I made the mistake of not keeping all the same brand in all sizes. Sigh.
ANYWAY, the actual point of this post is that I FINALLY COULD BUTTON THESE "26s", despite being only 5 pounds less than I was 1 year ago when I couldn't even get close to buttoning them.
This tells me that my weight has been getting redistributed from fat to muscle. I've been seeing a personal trainer at the gym since December 2024. When I started it was maybe 1x a month, sometimes less, but now I'm doing 1x a week pretty much without fail. It's definitely made a difference, made me stronger, and I do more / work harder with a trainer than I will do by myself at the gym.
Also, I feel so awkward in this pictures. Should you smile taking these progress pictures? It feels weird.
I Hit My First Goal Today!!!
I am so excited I have officially lost 40 pounds! I wish I could see it more physically. But the fact I can fit into clothes I could barely pull up or "grew" out of is proof to me. I even verified the scale with my kettle ball to make sure there wasn't any issues and I was misleading myself. My next goal is to get back into One-derland! So 21 pounds to go now! Woot! We got this!
I have been working on my protein a little more. Today is the first day I was actually able to hit my goal of 100 grams. Although, I feel like my sodium was too high. I will have to see what i can do to lower the my sodium intake.
I also have been hitting my 15k a day step count! Plus some!!! Wednesday I left my watch at home and had my old fit bit and charger in my bag for work so I took my morning steps and added them to my fit bit steps. I want to keep it rolling into the weekend.
Monday - 17,476 Tuesday - 15,070 Wednesday - 16.363 Thursday - 15,050 Friday (today) - 19,527
You can really tell the days I am struggling to get my steps in. I want to keep this up into the weekend and further. It is possible but it is a lot.

NSV!!! 😍
I just got stopped as a colleague then proceeded to praise my style to another colleague. I don't think I ever got praised for that before???
Now that I am at a good weight, I have way more clothes options open for me and can, in fact dress how I LIKE, not just "the best I can manage to fit in, still". It has done wonders to my confidence each morning, being able to choose an outfit without much trouble, and not stressing over how it makes me look. and now that confidence has been reinforced even more!
(it also helps that I got a bunch of tights in different colors and have been wearing the hell out of them - they really add brightness and fun and I love it)
A month or two ago they finally zipped (couldn't zip them when I bought them,) but the thighs were tight. Today these are finally loose and comfy. Which means I can pop a squat in them, or sprint (important for being an elementary teacher lmao.)
These are 100% linen pants from banana that I got for $7 on thredup.
