I try to keep on the positive side, certainly. I spend a lot of my time in my day making sure others are comfortable and having fun so it is nice to hear when others are enjoying my energy.

I really hope to come out of this at least friends, if not more. I am a people person, always happy to add more to my circle.

Dear baffledbadger,

I appreciate your style of writing. It kind of makes me feel like I am writing by candlelight back in the day. Not in a bad way. It is unique.

Why are food and activities risk? I mean, everything is a risk, technically. You could have an allergic reaction or sprain an ankle or choke on a bite...just to name a few. But, you could either do that at home alone or with a date. You have to eat regardless, might as well do it with good company, yeah?

And yeah, I think I've only gone on dates with strangers. Have you only ever dated people you already knew then?

Nothing wrong with that, by the way. Just trying to get to know you. :)

That's exactly the image I was hoping to evoke. I'm a big fan of history and literature so I think that it's fun to treat it like those olden times with a quill and ink. Why not lean into it?

Well you've labeled exactly the risks I had in mind, though I think life is nothing without some risk. The company certainly makes the event. If you don't spend it with people who make you happy you might as well not even be there. Even if those people are people you are meeting at the event.

I have really never dated strangers. The thought makes me a little nervous.

Dearest Spacesuitmocha,

I admire your boldness, I'm not particularly shy myself so it's fun when other people are willing to take the plunge as well. I've always been pretty outgoing, I would certainly use the word extroverted to describe myself, so I respect it in others.

I would settle for any of the above but love really is the goal for me. I want to find genuine connection and companionship. So many of my loved ones have found their people and I'd like to do the same.

Our lovely ring leader of this event has given us prompts. Thank god right! I usually love a well planned first date. If it’s someone have chatted with. Now a blind meet up or something where you have a little meet cute - there’s nothing wrong with a little walk in the park or grabbing a cocktail!

Yes, I'd be worried about breaking the rules! Can't be ruining the illusion too quickly! I suppose we must march on, introductionless!

I love to cater a date to the person I'm meeting up with. I do tend to describe myself as a bit of a hopeless romantic so making sure the right food or right activity is planned is important to me. This is the first Blind Date type activity I've joined. It's exciting, certainly!

I think I prefer anything that involves some quality time, some food, and the ability to talk! I am big on just being together in whatever way one can be, you know?

But now you've got me thinking about cocktails. What's your favorite? Mine's probably some sort of margarita or something.

What do you think a perfect date could be with a stranger? How would you plan for all of the unknowns about that situation? Food is always an option but a risk. Activities even more.

If we are going to start with the prompt, I suppose I'll say My Perfect First Date would be a starry night spent laid upon some pillows and blankets outside while we have food and drinks and talk about life.
