After what felt like forever, I FINALLY finished the cat boy Obikaka art I started making last weekend

according to the Manga and the databooks Kakashi should be at least 4 years younger than Obito because Kakashi graduated the academy at 5 and became Chunin at 6. And Obito graduated the academy at 9

Then Kakashi, Obito and Rin took the Chunin exam together and Kakashi was the only one who passed, and since Kakashi was 6 at the time and graduated the academy at 5 it means that he must have spent a year training after the academy graduation so Obito was 10 at the time to be able to take the chunin exam with Kakashi since he graduated from the academy at 9.

also while this whole thing is going on there’s the third ninja war, since Sakumo killed himself when Kakashi was 5 for starting it and he’s 13 at the time of the kannabi bridge so the war presumably lasts 8ish years?

Actually, if we continued to follow the manga and databooks Kakashi should be around 10 at the Kannabi bridge when he became Jounin because because when Minato told Obito his story that day he said that Sakumo’s incident happened 5 years ago.

The Databooks are confusing as hell. According to the second book Obito is 13 during the Kannabi Mission. The fourth book says both Kakashi and Obito are 31.

“About 18 years ago…” -> Kakashi is 13 and already part of the anbu. BUT Obito’s entry says something similar: “For 17 years, Obito moved unhindered in the darkness of history…” (translated because I have the german version)

So Obito was about 14 when he left the cave and saw Rin die (we can assume that he probably spent a whole year there).

If they’re both the same age Kakashi should’ve been 14 too but according to the books he already joined the Anbu at 13, which only happened after he killed Rin.

I wont even start with the whole academy/chunin problem. (Although I must admit that I am tempted.)

This stuff is in one single book. One. Single. Book.

My point: The databooks are confusing and somebody just gave up on creating a functioning timeline.

I couldn’t resist.

If Kakashi graduated at 5 (which is the most reliable information we have) and Obito and Rin were his genin teammates there should be a 4 year age gap between Obito and Kakashi. Obito is 13 during the Kannabi incident. This would mean Kakashi is 9 when he gets promoted to jonin, 10 when he kills Rin and probably about 11 when he joins the Anbu. Plus 18 years: 29 during Shippuden.

If we keep the age difference Obito would be 33 by then.

If we go 17 years backwards this would mean he stayed with Madara for 3 years until he was 16 (so another 2 years after Rin’s death) before he left to fuck shit up.

SO IN CONCLUSION. Kakashi is 29 and Obito 33. This is my canon now. Thank you.
