Koki likes the Vihka, and a big reason that they dont really change is because a lot of their magic is supplied by him and his 'lost' magic, rather than the sunsKoki, being a smaller form of the Moon deity with a bit of the suns magic he claimed for himself haha

in terms of population size, it would go Cether>Thule>Os'tas>Jahkl>Vihka(fox kids)Jahkl and Fox kids are very much limited to the Kel Del area

when it comes to Vihka They came from a group of jahkl a loong time ago that were kinda...isolated, and disagreed with the way things were run. especially regarding magic

I imagine that a LOT of these Jahkl bore cooler, darker fur - including moon priests. 

 but a lot of them were also just regular jahk, So we get a mixture of Vihka coat colours

I think to some extent, coat colour CAN mean some variation in natural magical skill

As in, those descended from moon priests - who worked hard for their magic - easily passed this onto their offspring Because remember, the energy of the land seeps in, especially through use and reproduction

HOWEVER, you cant definitively say that cooler furred Vihka are innately better at magic. Because it takes work and skill more than anything 

As a whole, the Vihka society isnt super developed as of yet  - but I imagine them to be very magey, with very beautiful architecture in their little cityand towns haha

Elemental magic is much more common in other areas of bahsk, as its associated with deities who gift that magic on keldel, the magic is much more;'warped'?it manifests itself in more sinister ways, and is much more dangerous to use as magic itself is from a dead deity, whose leftover magic seeps into physical bodies almost in an unconscious effort to bring itself back to physical form.

Jahkl dont use magic because it is actually just forbidden. some jahkl do, but they would have a status akin to a knight, or priest. 

Over time, the magic of kel del has warped the jahkls bodies relatively quickly normal jahkl originally look very canid, and are close relatives of alpha cether the same will happen to any species that stays there long enough. the only exception currently seems to be Vihka, and that may be due to a link with Koki 

Corruption on Kel Del, to summarize, is the magical energy building up inside a physical body. Like haemachromatosis. It settles in organs and can absolutely be life threatening, and its greatly quickened by using magic. Using magic is really just 'opening the gates' and inviting more in.

The transformation that the Jahkls underwent is really just the magic of the Sun deity trying to take a physical form. The antlers and such are all attributes that it had

Really long ago: creation of Kel Del the land mass via two warring deities - Moon and Sun. Both perished, but Moon (Koki) has begun creating himself a physical form, while Sun cannot. Originally, Jahkl live alongside 'Alpha' Cether, as they have a common ancestor. 

Their evolution diverged, but they come back together to 'share' cities. Religious conflict. Jahkl population moves on to find somewhere else to set up camp haha. 

The Jahkl that stay behind are eventually killed, or exiled.Jahkl chill in Kel Del. They begin making a city surrounding a big oasis, just in front of a mountain range.

 They have other towns near to a coast for trade.Jahkl get a sense for the Sun's presence and power. Begin worshiping it, unaware that the deity is 'dead' beneath their feetTwo sects: Sun and Moon.

 They believe Sun has given them magic power, (as deities do, where they come from) and although they cant see the deity, they worship it to a real extreme kind of degree.Jahkl start getting sick.

 Meut and Cirio storyline comes into playMagic ban.Around this time, secretive members of the moon sect split of to eventually become the vihkaMeut is trapped beneath city, Cirio become a good king.about 1500 years pass, jahkl as a species on keldel become warped.

Alpha cether have also had a branch split off - the Beta cether, who value technology and have a great relationship with Thule.

Beta Cether have kind of spread a lot in a short period of time, they create these little 'super cities' where they harvest resources and pack up and move on.

They settle on the cooler part of Kel Del (the south)set up camp there, build relations with Vihka especiallyMeut still chillen underground, accumulating magic/power and transforming into a Sun deity reincarnation
