I HAD TO SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST!!!!

When I opened up my package and saw this dress I screamed on the inside. A all black party dress (tea cup style) with a strappy back and a plunging v neck. How could I not fall in love? I had to break out my Baker’s just to add a pop of color. With this style of dress I had to go with a pump that strapped around the ankle. (WHO ELSE MISSES THE OLD BAKERS? IT CAN’T JUST BE ME!) For those of you who don’t know, never lug around a large tote bag with this look always go clutch. So I pulled out my silver clutch from TJMaxx. Makeup is nice and Natural but still bronze. Also I pulled my hair more to the front of my face for a better frame to compliment the look.

You didn’t think the high waisted genie pants were the only thing VANN sent me do you? 

Check out this Sheer black and white panel dress with a front body length zipper. Just so I wouldn’t bare it all, I added a strapless black bra. I couldn’t resist the touch of red with my mule pumps and my Ralph Lauren mini clutch (that I got from TJ Maxx by the way). I felt so retro I had to scoop my hair into a bun with a mini pompadour and brought it all together with a cute red scarf. 1950′s fashion at it’s finest with a little swag from Vann. I didn’t want to out shine the clothes with a overly beat face so I went clean (yes still contoured).

Teeth Whitening Journey

For the last 8 years I have been looking for easy and affordable ways to whiten my teeth. I know your first thought is probably Bailey, why don’t you just go to the dentist? My answer….. I ain’t got it like that! Do you know how much it cost to get your teeth whitened from the dentist? The cheapest amount I’ve seen so far is $550.00!!!! So just like everyone else (cheap people like me) I’ve looked for alternatives; toothpastes that have brightening ability, whitening strips, whitening pens, even peroxide with baking soda/Lemon juice I even tried a system that has a blue light that you hold to your mouth tray to activate the whitening gel and it still didn’t get what I consider my problem spots, which are my bottom teeth…. Till I found Smile Brilliant and I fell in love with it. You get all of the essentials plus two bonus features.

A. A teeth tray that is a mold of your teeth. So when you apply your whitening gel, it sets snugly around them especially in your problem areas.  

B. A sensitivity gel, that you apply if the whitening gel causes any sensitivity to your teeth.

Most companies don’t create trays that are a mold of your teeth. But this one does. I’ve never heard of any other company supplying you with sensitivity gel but this one does and it’s all for an affordable price. You get the exact same experience as you would in a dentists office only without the appointment and with a fraction of the price. I used SmileBrilliant for a little over a week and after a few days I already saw a tremendous difference. I GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UP!!!!

MY LOVE OF VANNCO.

About a month ago a friend of mine T. Vann who is a fashion designer and have designed several pieces for names such as Erica Campbell for the Dove Awards. You may remember her walking in and out and the very beginning and ending of the show with two very special pieces. They were made by Vann. Well anyways, having a friend like her allows you to get your hands on some pretty special attire. She sent me a few and I decided to blog about it. 

I like to call them my MC Hammer pants (did I just give away my age?) I thought these high waisted genie pants would look great with my Nine West ankle boots and my fitted white tank. I just added my geek glasses in for a little flare. With a look this noticeable no need to go crazy with the makeup I kept it nice and simple. The hair I felt would compliment the pants best if it was puffy and free.

I really love the goth look. One thing I learned in this shoot was that my teacher was right. There are gonna be times when you have to make a decision on whether you should do a full contour or not. In this case I only did her cheeks. But doing it that way made the pictures very effective. Thank you Miss L. for everything. I hope you enjoy my vision.

Feeling like a woman.

I see it time and time again. Women getting up from my chair and walking out of the salon, with a brand new attitude. There's something about getting a new hair style and a fresh face of makeup that makes a woman feel brand new. I can't really speak about the hair. But I like to think my face painting skills have a great amount to do with the new feeling.

The Contour

I'm sure every make up artist worth their trade, feels as strongly as I do about a well contoured face. To me its the most effective way to bring someone's features out. This is a pic of myself. Without it I look like a 12 year old (but that's just my opinion). A good contour allows you to leave your eyes free of makeup and a lip of your choice. My recommendation is if you decide to wear lashes, to wear as natural of style lashes as possible. The best way to achieve this is to use a blender brush. Create your lines and blend.

HI! I’m Bailey. Im a up and coming make up artist from Virginia. I have been doing make up for 6 years now and I finally decided to take it seriously and turn it into a career. I attended Empire Beauty School in Manhattan, NY in the make up artistry program. Luckily for me I had a head start on my portfolio. My photographer is Ty Pleas.
