Accutane daysss

Hi! Just a quick question if you dont mind. I'm seeing a derm this week to hopefully get prescribed to try accutane but I know they want you to be on birth control. I was just wondering which brand they gave you? I'm slightly worried that the BC will make me break out more on top of the initial break out from accutane. The last time I tried BC just for acne it was a nightmare.

I already had my mirena IUD when I got prescribed accutane. My mirena possibly caused my horrible hormonal acne. I'd say ask your dermatologist what birth control pill he/she recommends. If the birth control causes you to have a hormonal breakout, more than likely accutane will take care of it within a few months! :)Goodluck! xx

Little over a month off accutane

I'm starting to get blackheads again. And at the moment I have one pimple on my chin. I'm not concerned though. I am still very happy with the way my face looks! It's still 120x better than before.

I hope I get off accutane tomorrow! My doctor might want to go another round but I think my skins looks pretty great! (Aside from my natural redness on my cheeks)

I couldn't find anyone in my area that offered threading for the bikini area but if you can I say go for it! I get my eyebrows threaded bc of accutane and it's great. For my bikini area I used an epilator which was a little scary at first and a little harsher than waxing but hey it got the job done and it beat trying to pluck every individual hair (15 year old me thought that was a great idea - do not recommend 😂) good luck I girl, hope your treatment goes well!

Alright accutane community

It's summertime here in the US and it's time for the real question. What can/should I do about my bikini area? I cant wax it. Could I get it threaded? Hmm..

Hey! My skin is exactly the same!! It was all clear and now its flared up put of nowhere! Its absolutely horrible! I'm trying to tell myself that its purging and in the long run its better for us! Keep going, your skins gonna like great!

Well..

I'm in month 4. Three or so weeks ago my skin was very very clear and for the past week it has been hell. I have pimples on my chin and forehead and redness across my cheeks and nose. What the hell accutane. And to top it all off I am so depressed. I have no energy to do ANYTHING. I never get out of my bed. I hate the way I look. My face and my body.

Ever since I got acne I have had to use medium to full coverage foundations/concealers always! Recently I got Dior nude air foundation. It is very lightweight and watery. Before I started accutane this foundation would have melted right off my oily face. Now I can wear beautiful light coverage foundations with confidence.

Lol so I have been very lazy about posting monthly updates. I am on month 4 right now and my face is pretty clear. I still have a few pimples mostly on my chin but I am so happy with the improvement I really don't care!

I'm in my first month of accutane.. Only 8th day. My face is already really really red.. Did that happen to you?

No I don't have any redness on my face. I think if it is unbearable you should call your dermatologist! Best of luck!

Are you having any redness? My derm started me on 80 mg and my arms and chest are really red.

Yes! I have this red rash on my arms and legs. I asked my dermatologist about it and she said not to worry it's due to the dryness of the skin.

Really sad and lonely tonight. I hope I feel better tomorrow and this isn't an accutane thing.

From what Ive heard a lot of people say that their skin doesn't seem to do too much besides maybe get a little better (like yours) or worse (which isn't your case) and then all of a sudden around month four or so their skin just drastically gets better overnight almost from what they say. All I know is that accutane does work and your skin is going to be amazing by the end of your treatment. And you are seriously so so beautiful. You can make it !

Thank you for the encouragement!!My dermatologist said that I should expect clarity by the end of this month (month 3). So I really do hope I wake up one day miraculously clear.

Long time.

So I am late on posting my update photos. I will get right on that. My Doctor upped my dose from 60mg a day to 80mg a day. I have to be honest, I did not see much improvement in my skin in month number 2. Ugh oh well. The journey continues...

So this is the end of month number 1. The progress is absolutely amazing! My skin is so dry but I have less and less redness every single day. I can't wait to see how I my skin looks at the end of this month!
