“Father, I wish to go to Gotham public school for research purposes,” Damian stands in front of Bruce, “Dick has made a small report on Jamie and Davy, yet no report on Tulip due to her absence presumably due to a sleepover. I wish to gather a more detailed report on the half siblings of my brother.”
Bruce looks up from his paperwork not surprised at Damian’s request. If anything he expected him to request it as soon as he found out about you.
“For how long do you plan on staying there to get to know them?”
“Just the week father, seeing as well all meet Saturday night my hope is by interacting with them they’ll be more incline to push my brother into agreeing to live with us.”
“Alright, remember to lay low so you don’t spook them.”
“Of course, I already have everything prepared. I asked Alfred to procure a more simple car so I don’t stand out when he drops me off.”
Bruce nods happy about the idea of Damian making friends with your younger siblings especially since they’re around his age. He hopes he gets along with them one wrong move and it can set back progress, knowing the little they know about you, they can tell you’d refuse to deal with them again if your little siblings ask. Plus they can’t just separate you from them, you’d probably destroy everything if that happens. So good impressions matter.

Calling in sick to work is so tempting right now, one you barely got any sleep this morning, two you’re worried about Don since he hasn’t come home yet, three you’re very exhausted mentally right now. But you can’t afford to skip work, especially since Don still has the money you two stole from the joker. And either way you feel too guilty about the idea of not working. Dropping the kids off at school you walk to work and check your flip phone for any messages. There’s one from Bruce asking about having a talk with you and your siblings this Saturday. You respond back that you’ll have to discuss it with them after they get back from school.
Walking into the gas station you get back to the grind, everything goes smoothly till you enter the break room and see Don resting there.
“Don?! Are you ok?? Why are you here and not home??”
“Just being safe. Can’t risk leading the bat and his crew finding our home,” Don yawns stretching sending you a glare, “You didn’t distract Robin very well…”
“I’m sorry Don. I really am, but he’s just a kid I would never fight him. I couldn’t,” you take a deep breath trying to calm down your heart, “I- the kids they-“
Don reaches his hand out to you causing you to flinch and shut up fast. Your older brother frowns his anger disappearing, he pulls his hand away keeping it to his chest. His eyes become more gentle and sad, they remind you of how his eyes use to be when you two were kids. Well when he was a kid. You’re still a kid.
“No, no don’t apologize. I shouldn’t have expected you to do such a thing. The littlies need you far more than they need me. And…” he shakes his head trying to center his thoughts, “And I, I shouldn’t be dragging you into danger. The littlies might not need me, but you do. You don’t need to be so on edge you constantly flinch…”
You pull your older brother into a tight hug, clinging onto him afraid this version of him will disappear if you let go. Don hugs you back tighter trying to hold back his tears as he mumbles apologies to you.
“If I don’t act right, know it’s not on you, and it never will be,” Don blinks away the tears and pulls away yawning, “Alright see ya bro. I have to go dig up our money! We’ll be living like kings for a bit. I can imagine all the good food we can eat.”
“Yeah…ok. Tonight though we need to have a talk with the littlies as well.”
“Huh? What’s the talk about? You never bring up big stuff to them.”
“I, I found out I’m technically your guys half brother. I found out a couple of days ago…”
“Half or not you’re still my baby brother I do not care. And I know the littlies won’t care either so don’t worry too much about it,” Don shrugs.
You can’t help but sigh relieved, “Yeah, thanks. Now leave I have to work.”
“Alright alright I’m going. But I’ll still be there tonight at home for the talk,” Don goes to walk out the gas station but stops, “Wait than who’s you biological dad?”
“How the fuck did mom accomplish that?”

Damian walks into the public high school confidently having studying the layout before hand to know exactly where to go. All of his classes line up with your brother Jamie, it helps the two are the same age. Walking into the first class of the day he clocks Jamie right away sitting in the corner looking through the window towards some random tree spacing out. Damian sits in the seat next to him, the kid who usually sits there tries to make a fuse but one glare from Damian and he backs off
“What the hell do you want man?” Jamie sighs and turns to look at him, “I can feel your eyes burrowing into me.”
“I simply want to become close to you is all, we have similar vibes and I’m new here. I’d thought you’d be the best choice friend wise.”
“Oh uh chill I guess. You’re rather blunt and upfront, I like that. You don’t bullshit like some of the other kids here. I’m Jamie.”
“Damian, how long have you lived here?”
“Fuck um let me think, only a few months. I think like three or four. I guess it’s pretty obvious I’m not from here is it? I don’t got that ‘Gotham vibe’ yet.”
“Correct, you seem more affected by the stuff that happens here.”
“Don’t think I can get use to it ever, I mean we literally have to have safety drills for the Joker and other idiot villains…I miss my old town even if it was shit we didn’t have any villains.”
Damian hums to acknowledge him, as the teacher walks in to start class. Later during lunch Damian follows Jamie outside to the courtyard walking to the metal fence that the middle school shares with the high school. The young robin spots Davy talking with Tulip through the fence.
“Yo, who the heck is that following you?” Davy chimes up turning to the two of them.
Tulip waves, “Hi there new person!!”
“Tulip, Davy, this is Damian. Damian these are my younger siblings,” Jamie walks to stand on the other side of tulip leaning against the fence, “He’s new here, so I’m hanging with him.”
“Oh ok, um wassup?” Davy looks his way occasionally feeling too awkward to look hold eye contact.
“He smells fancy,” Tulip chimes up staring at Damian, “Hmmm, hmmm…you got brother’s resting face.”
The two boys nod staring at Damian, Jamie steps up to him.
“You good man? Everything ok at home?”
“Yes, why would you ask such a thing?” Damian huffs a little.
Jamie scratches the back of his neck, “Don’t mean anything by that, you just have the same tired look as our brother is all.”
“I’m just a busy person with clubs and sport activities is all.”
“Oh sick, how’s the soccer team here?” Davy’s eyes light up, “I mean if you’re apart of the team here. I was thinking of signing up, but I wasn’t sure.”
“It’s reasonable, not the best in this school district, but good enough.”
“You should do it Davy!” Tulip reaches through the fence patting her brother’s back.
“Yeah, yeah! I’ll have to go sign up later on today?”
“Wait does it cost money?” Jamie’s question brings the joyful mood down a peg.
“I don’t know, I’ll ask. I hope it doesn’t.”
“I’m sure it doesn’t,” Tulip’s voice tries to keep a joyful tone, “I mean the school makes money from the games! So hopefully that pays for it!”
“True true, if not I can always just play in the park,” Davy sighs leaning back against the fence.
“Why not ask your parents for the money?” Damian ask, carefully examining them for their reactions.
“We would, but you know money is a bit tight. I mean we live in Gotham after all both the cheapest and most expensive place to live depending on the area,” Jamie speaks calmly and naturally.
If Damian wasn’t as well trained as he is, he wouldn’t be able to tell that Jamie was holding back the partial truth.
“I see. Well if it turns out that money is needed to sign up, I’m happy to help out.”
The three look at him surprised, Jamie’s shock turns into suspicious quickly.
“No catch, just want to help out a friend is all.”
The two stare at each other for a while in silence before the teen sighs breaking eye contact.
“Well fine then, thanks Damian. You’re pretty chill I guess.”

“I’m still not over mom somehow sleeping with the Brucie Bruce.”
“Out of everything that’s happened that’s the thing you’re hung up on?” You roll your eyes as the two of you walk to pick up the littlies.
Don walks ahead and turns to walk backwards so he can face you still, “Uh yeah! I mean I always suspected she did cheat due to how dad treated you specifically and how mom…how she…well anyways I always had a feeling we didn’t share the same dad. And now that I’m thinking about it you do kinda got Bruce’s face a bit at least structure wise where your eyes and nose are.”
“That sounds so weird when you explain it like that.”
“Eh fair. Guess that means the littlies and you will be living with them?”
“I don’t know, I was going to wait till we were all together to bring up the subject. Bruce wants to meet everyone. Plus you could live there too if he does invite us.”
“I don’t know, I’m not a kid like you guys. I can’t just be snatched up and adopted plus how would I do my schemes if I was stuck in some rich man’s place,” he turns back around his back facing you.
“…I don’t want us to be separated.”
“I don’t too. But you gotta be realistic about this what’s the likelihood they’d let me in. Especially since my first impression was not the best.”
“Yeah, but you’re still my brother. I’m sure I can convince them by being stubborn about it.”
“Oh yeah, you’re so smart tiger!”
“Don’t call me tiger in public it’s embarrassing,” you grumble looking away.
“You have no idea how tempting it is to poke you so your tiger ears come out. I always like seeing them fold back it’s so silly.”
“You, I ugh! Get over here so I can bite you to pieces!”
Don laughs and runs ahead as you chase him laughing as well. Once the two of you make it in front of the schools you two calm down and wait. Soon the two of you spot the littlies walking out the school, seeing another kid with them.
“Oh, lookie lookie, our baby brothers finally made a friend!” Don walks to them and you follow waving over to Tulip seeing her skip out the door of the middle school. You ruffle her hair making the young girl giggle. Turning to the boys, Davy and Jamie are pushing Don for teasing them. When your eyes lock with Damian you feel your breath hitch, recognizing him as the Damian Wayne. And he’s just looking at you so intently eager to talk to you. He’s your half brother, you look away feeling a little awkward.
“Bye bye, Damian. See you tomorrow!” Tulip hugs the boy before rushing back to your side, “Can we go home now, I’m hungry.”
“Oh, yeah,” You whistle getting your siblings’ attention, “Let’s go I’m making spaghetti tonight. First one to get done with their homework get’s extra garlic bread.”
The littlies run off ahead Don following after them, leaving you alone with Damian.
“I haven’t told them yet, I will be telling them tonight. Can I ask did Bruce put you up to this?”
Damian walks a bit closer to you, “No, this was my own choice. I wanted to get to know your half siblings so we can get along better as a family.”
“Ok, won’t lie it’s a little weird seeing you guys sneak more into my life. But you’re a kid,” You look back at him, “And another baby brother of mine. Even if things don’t work out with Bruce and all don’t be afraid to give me a call. I’ll see you tomorrow when I pick up the littlies. Be safe.”
You ruffle Damian’s hair, hand him your number, and run off to catch up with your siblings. Damian watches you go fixing his hair, with a proud feeling in his chest growing at the fact you’re his brother.
Once at home and sitting with everyone eating, you take a deep breath and sit up. Don matches your vibe sitting up straight, the littlies look up from their food feeling a little anxious.
“What’s happening?” Davy’s eyes bounce from you to Don.
“I have something I need to tell you all about. Don already knows, and now that Tulip is back from her sleepover it’s best to discuss this thing with y’all now. I found out a few days ago that I’m your half brother and that my biological father is alive, and wants to get to know all of us this Saturday.”
“What!” Jamie stands up confuse, “How did you find this out? Who is the guy?”
“It was by accident, I got a little hurt the doctors looked for who my guardians could be and that’s how I found out. And how I met him. As for my biological father he’s Bruce Wayne.”
“HUH?!” The three littlies all look at you in shock.
Don chimes up before you can speak, “It’s a big weird thing to think about, but on the bright side he can adopt you three when he legally claims custody over tiger here. Y’all will be living in a huge mansion!”
“What do you mean by that Don? He can’t just claim our brother as his kid like that!” Jamie huffs.
“He’s not going to take you from us, is he?” Tulip’s voice wavers.
“No, no, honey. Honey he won’t and couldn’t take me from you guys not at all,” You rush to the three and pull them into a tight hug nuzzling them, “I’d only allow that if he’d take everyone in. And that him and the others will treat you all well.”
Davy’s grips tightens on you, claws start to form digging into your skin. You click your tongue and Don gets up and close the window’s blinds and curtains. He then walks over and joins the group hug. Letting go you turn into your tiger form nuzzling Davy’s cheek letting the boy calm down and go into his own animal form, a wolf. You lay down and Davy flops against you, the others joining.
“Are you guys up for meeting the Wayne’s this Saturday?”
The littlies talk between themselves before Jamie chimes up, “Fine we will, only for the free food.”
“That kid Damian you three made friends with is Bruce’s kid. He’s my half brother.”
“THAT EXPLAINS HIS FACE!” Tulip sits up.
“Ah that was in my ears Tups,” Jamie groans.
Davy lifts up his wolf face before moving his paws to lay more comfortably on top of you. “So he’s trying to get to know us on purpose, cause we’re your siblings?”
“I figure, but he said he wants to get to know y’all, so that way you guys get along,” you nuzzle
“Right, well if he tries stealing you he’s going to have to get through us,” Jamie huffs trying to appear bigger, “Even if my power isn’t awake yet, I can still beat any rich kid’s ass.”
“Be nice Jamie, it’s a big change for him too. All I ask is you give him a chance like you did before. If he pulls some shit then you can jump him.”
Jamie mumbles a fine as Don stands up, “On that note, guess what I bought today!”
“It better not be slime! That was a pain to clean out the carpets,” you growl.
Don shoves a bag he’s holding in the trash can, before quickly opening the freezer, “No of course not, I got us ice cream!”
You watch the littlies rush over to grab themselves some, as you continue to lay down feeling hopeful that things won’t be too crazy this weekend. Though you do make a mental note to yourself to take out the trash, so Don doesn’t bring the slime back into the house.
