Chocolate Ripple Heart Cake!!! It’s as it sounds - I made this to cheer someone up during these horrible times... I think it did the job!
This was inspired by https://tasty.co/ ‘s chocolate ripple cheesecake, and I just adapted it into a cake!
Here are some carrot cupcakes I made, and decorated them with chocolate butterflies and green buttercream icing! The butterflies are really cool and they look SO nice on a cake, or food in general!!! Let me know if you want the recipe or just anything else in general!
Here’s my favourite cake that I’ve ever made! It’s an upside down ‘dropped’ ice cream cake with ombre buttercream, and Oreo crumb and a brownie and banana cake checkerboard inside! The second picture is of the cake with the original design that I had drawn a couple of weeks before - I’d like to think it matches us pretty well...! Anyway, as usual let me know whether you want the recipe in the comments and I can type it up!!!
I probably should have posted this ages ago as i mad it for my birthday cake last year, but anyway! Here it is! (I have put on a ‘vivid’ filter in case you were wondering...)

Salted Caramel Choux Buns!!!
Considering this is the first time making choux pastry, I’ve got to say I’m very pleased with how it turned out!!! The salted caramel filling was also amazing!
(I’m a bit worried that my family is addicted to salted caramel things... oops!)

I think butterfly cakes are so delicate... yet so delicious and gone maybe just a little bit TOO quickly... I recommend any type of jam for the middle but find that raspberry or strawberry work best!
The recipe is just a classic Vanilla Victoria Sandwich cake mix but put into little cupcake cases instead of a large tin! (of course with some buttercream to stick the wings on though!!!)

OMG these Vegan Pistachio Praline Meringues were absolutely delish and I highly recommend you try them!!! Although for future reference I wouldn’t put as much pistachio praline on because I think that that’s what made them sink a little in the middle!

This is the birthday cake that I made for my dad. It took me all morning but I enjoyed every second of it... well not the washing up but anyway... It’s a chocolate, coffee, salted caramel and vanilla cake. Each flavour has it’s own component on the actual cake: The chocolate has the chocolate drip, the coffee the coffee beans on it, the salted caramel is represented by caramel shards and the vanilla is represented by white chocolate and vanilla cookie balls!!! I also coloured and flavoured the icing and made it take and ombre affect kind of look!
If anyone wants the recipe, let me know and I will attach it on a future post.

I loved making these and found that chilling them overnight is better than for a few hours!!! Tell me what you think in the comments!!! 👍🏼

Classic Victoria Sandwich Cake
Ok so for this next bake I’m gonna be baking something that I’ve known how to bake since I was 7!!!
Ingredients:
225g unsalted butter/margarine
225g caster sugar
225g self raising flour or use plain flour but add 1tsp of baking powder
4 eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
(75g Chocolate powder optional)
For decorations and filling:
Icing sugar (to sprinkle on top)
3 tbsps jam 200g icing sugar
100g unsalted butter
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180 C or 356 Fahrenheit. Grease two round tins.
2. Cream the margarine and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Whisk the eggs and add the vanilla. Sieve in a third of flour and eggs. Add in another third of each and then the other, mixing in between. (If adding chocolate powder add to flour mix first.)
4. Pour into the two tins equally. Put into oven and leave to bake for 15-20 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. When they come out place cakes on cooking rack.
5. Whilst in oven prepare buttercream: cream together icing sugar and butter until completely mixed.
6. Once cool cut off the top of one of the cakes and cover in jam, turn over the other cake and cover in buttercream. Put one cake on top of the other and sprinkle some icing sugar on top.
How to...bake along with the recipes I post!
From now on, when I post a photo of something I’ve baked, I will post the recipe and method as well. Some bakes will be hard, some will be easy but all a bit of an experiment. I’ll always be happy to receive tips and advice about my baking so that I can improve. :-) And I’ll tell you what went right and wrong. I hope you will enjoy baking along with me!!!
