"You're like the second person who asked me that, but sure, since you don't seem like a person who would take Botamon away from me." Slowly he'll raise his partner up for her to inspect and hold.

"Umamusme??? You mean like the 'horse girl'???" He squints, looking at her more closely. "Are you sure you're not cosplaying, are you?? No way you could be an actual horse person."

Bakushin gives a tiny little squeak as Botamon is held up to her to be held. She does very carefully take the sweet lil dust-bunny looking animal and starts to give them pets.

"No, I am an actual umamusume!" She says brightly as her tail and ears move. "Though, I'm hearing this horse word... does that mean you're comparing me to the animal?"

"Cause a lot of them tried to take Botamon away from me, I just find that weird, and kinda rude." He shows botamon who was currently making bubbles, and soon enough, taichi's gaze lands on her ears.

"Wait... are you a digimon??"

"Oh! They're so cute. Can I hold them?" Bakushin says, before she blinks.

"A... digimon? No! I'm an Umamusume."

"Adults are so weird."

"Why are adults are so weird?"

"university-level classes might be difficult, so please be sure to reach out if you need help or a study partner," café warns, knowing that bakushin struggles a little bit with the... less physically active side of tracen academy. better to help her get ahead of the curve now than later.

"if you've been here for five months, then please tell me everything i would need to know. if we're forced to be here... then i'm going to try and make the most of it." she looks out towards the skyscrapers, ears falling flat against her head again.

"what's the name of this professor? what do they teach and study?"

"You are right, but it's the only school I have seen. Maybe they'll have more high school courses? Like at the Academy." Bakushin says before Cafe asks about what she needs to know.

"Well, your housing and food is covered! The people that run this place - the Stars - are really nice like that. Sometimes there are strange events. I guess it's to provide us with something to do?" Bakushin rapid fires off.

"Oh! His name is Professor Veritas Ratio! I didn't ask what he taught, but he seems really good at teaching math!"

Yumoto nods simply, slowly shaking off the stun. "Eh, you don't!? They were pretty important to society in my world. They're um, Equus ferus caballus. They're really big, strong, and fast, and they have hooves."

He tilts his head, silently pondering what kind of world would be like without horses. And then immediately abandons the thought. He loves animals, but history was pretty boring.

He beams. "Oh, that's cool! That's kind of like having siblings, I think. What are they like?"

"That means we might not be from the same Japan." Bakushin says, almost in dispair. After all, no such thing existed in her world.

Though, that is quickly batted away again by the change of topic. "Oh! They're both great racers." Bakushin O says excitedly.

"Sakura Chiyono O and Sakura Laurel work so hard! They never give up! Laurel-chan even has a harder time because of her legs, but she keeps on trying!"

It seems Bakushin O holds a lot of respect for both Victory Club members.

❝ If that is the case... ❞ trailing off, he thinks on it a little, hand reaching to his chin as if in contemplation. were she to progress with something more visual, that was doable by far when it came to putting together assignments and other tidbits of learning.

Bakushin's ears and tail perk up immediately at Ratio's suggestion.

"Could you? Please?" The Uma asks rapidly, clasping her hands together as she pleads. If this could help, then she could keep up with her classes instead of just worrying about racing.

"I am absolutely willing to learn more!"

She had to be the best class rep she could be after all!

Chiikawa looked up at the girl with a mouth full of broccoli. It was so...foresty...

"Wa...." They let out a sad noise, but nodded at her in a kind of desperate way.

Bakushin looks at the little creature that's sturggling to eat the broccoli. She gives them a soft smile.

"Here," the Uma says as she holds out a bite-sized carrot to them. "Try this with it."

"That's true! I-It really is just like winning a race!" Although she knew it really wasn't. And Bakushin did as well. But the alternative was screaming and not doing anything about it. Which really wouldn't have solved anything when the situation was as dire as this. But at least it'd keep her mind somewhat sane.

"But I just can't help feeling li-" Another thought ran through her mind before Bakushin grabbed her hand, causing the other uma to react in a usual fashion for herself.

"Alhaldsjufolkiajhfsdlkdaswflk. N-N-N-No you're right Bakushin! We have to do this! For everyone here and the fans at home! It's our duty!"

Bakushin lets out a relieved sigh as Digital reacts like normal. It's going to be okay. They'll get through this.

"Okay, we're going to have to sing our hearts out! Are you ready? Do you know what song you want to do first? I figured we can switch who is in first place for each song."

The sprinter pauses to take a breath. "There are people outside of our stage that are going to protect us so we don't get hurt. We gotta sing so they can win. Got it?"

She had to keep Digital's mood up!

"Huu.....mmmn..." Chiikawa is having a hard time today.

Eating broccoli...it can be difficult!

"Hey little guy!" The teen horse girl says as she drops to her knees to better be on the same level as the creature.

"You wanna try a tasty carrot with that?"

"Ah breathe in and out. Breathe innnnnnnnn and ooooooooooooooout. You can do this Digital!"

Despite being one who'd practice most of what she did alone in her own room (with or without her roommate there too) the horse girl was somewhat nervous about putting on a performance so suddenly. It wasn't that she couldn't but a few factors seemed to be holding back Digital. One of which was in front of her right now...

"Bakushin what if I do something wrong out there?! N-Not that I think I am but this is the first time we might have people watching that don't want to see our show! Aren't you worried too?"

To say she isn't nervous as well would be a lie. Bakushin O had to keep a brave face, though! As class rep, she knew how important it was when her fellow students looked up to her.

Like Digital. The other Tracen student just takes a hold of her classmate's hands. "We made it out of that weird lab just fine! We can do this Digital!" The Uma encourages.

"We need to give our all out there, people are counting on us! It's no different than winning a race."

Hopefully that assuages both of their fears.

"huh?" The question leaves him confused, already forgetting the relevance and his part in the question. What's a horse? That's a strange thing to ask. "Uh, it's like a fast animal?"

Not as elegant an explanation as he usually gave.

"Actual big brother!" Enthusiasm returns when talking about his brother. "He took really good care of me when I was little. He's a little weird, but that's okay. I love him with my whole heart!"

"Do you have any siblings, Bakushin-san?"

"A fast anima?" Bakushin repeats still blinking. "We don't have horses where I'm from."

Again, the track of the conversation shifts. "That's so sweet!" Bakushin says. She shakes her head with the next question. "No, but I have some childhood friends with the same name of Sakura!" The Umamusume says excitedly.

"my friend means the world to me," café replies, and she means every word of it. she straightens out her coat again, looking towards the sky in contemplation. "things are different, yes... i think a group chat on umacord is the best option, unless they don't have that here. i'll look to see who's in charge and what sector would be best for a set of tracks... and then we'll begin."

she begins to walk down the street, taking in the sights. "what have you done here so far? how long ago did you arrive? have you enrolled in a school of any kind to keep up your education?"

"Umacord doesn't exist, but there is something similar on our phones!" Bakushin says. "I think it's called Spiracord?'

At the questions of her length of stay, Bakushin just laughs a little. "I've been here since January, so five months now? Also... no, not yet," the brunette says with a small, embarrassed laugh.

"I heard there is a university, though, so I might start classes there! That's where the professor I met works."

"Wow! Just like horses! Umamusume are really amazing." He claps his hands in awe, not noticing the comparison that left his mouth. It just slipped out, was that rude? Tamamo didn't seem mad when he said it the first time.

He considers his answer briefly, which is a shrug. "So-so! I can carry heavy boxes, but I don't think I can lift someone my size up very high," he mimes lifting someone up from under the arms, both demonstrating and calculating the answer live in his head. Yup, that might be a little much when he isn't transformed.

"My big brother probably could, though. He's very strong and muscular. I'm pretty sure he can still carry me in his arms, easy."

And the train of thought just keeps rolling on.

"What's a ... horse?" Bakushin O asks. That's a weird thing to say.

Still, Bakushin moves along with the conversation's tracks. She nods as he mimes picking up someon.

"You have a big brother? Like an actual big brother or a friend you're close with?" Bakushin asks, curious. Already the whole "what is a horse" question clearly is out of her mind.

EACH SECOND TICKS BY AS SHE WAITS, an observant gaze unwavering in a gentle patience to see what it is she will come to in conclusion. and, before long, she does just that, placing the two down first before amending it to be negative. for one who seems to have had struggles with this problem, she certainly was more capable than she might believe, one nod being offered to the board.

❝ You've solved the equation. Full points, ❞ he congratulates, a hand reaching over to take the marker back into his grasp. ❝ Did the visual steps help you? Compared to staring at the board when I first arrived, you progressed quickly soon after. ❞ rather, he was curious to know what helped move her along in deciphering it.

Bakushin lights up again at the praise. She lets Ratio take the marker back as she beams. Such simple praise, it seems, makes her day.

"I think so?" Bakushin says as she looks back at the board. "It would make sense." She says. The horse girl's tail swishes as she contemplates.

Bakushin O doesn't even hesitate. She smiles wider, if that's even possible, as she puts her hands on her hips.

"Tracen Academy's number one class rep is happy to help!" She exclaims, pointing at herself. Bakushin doesn't even ask about the pay.

"What errands do you need help with, Zodyl-san?"

" Excellent. "

A quick list was written down on a pad of paper that he pulled out of his coat pocket. It was all menial tasks: groceries, mapping out the neighborhood, and a request of the general schedule of community events. This was all simple enough for a teenage girl to handle. And while it was mundane work, it was less for Zodyl to have to worry about. He could focus on seeking out his stolen vital instrument.

" There you go. I will be in the area again in a few hours. Don't hesitate to contact me on these communication devices we've been given, " Zodyl hands over the paper, and turns on his heel.

Perhaps his energetic neighbor wouldn't be so irritating after all.

"Is she, is she? I didn't see her run, but I think she was being modest. She looked fast."

That may just be the lightning motifs doing their job in his mind, though. Why would you wear thunderbolts if you weren't super fast? That would be like lying!

He tilts his head back in thought, before nodding. "Now that I think about it, she seemed that way... She offered to lift me up like a kid. But maybe she was just super-duper strong? Are you super strong?"

The question slipped out as soon as it entered his head.

"She is!" Bakushin replies excitedly. When Yumoto confirms it was Super Creek, Bakushin O claps her hands together.

"That is definitely Creek-san! And she is strong!" Bakushin says with a bright smile. "All Umamusume are pretty strong. Some are more so than others, but still. We all can lift lots of stuff!" Bakushin O looks to Yumoto.

"Are you strong? It's okay if you're not."

"math is hard," cafe replies without hesitating. it's not her strongest subject, either, though she knows that bakushin struggles quite hard with most of her classes in general. she straightens out her coat a little, thinking for a moment before replying. "we're going to need more than just one for each eventually. this will do for—"

then it hits her. bakushin asked for both cafe and her friend to help, without any sort of pretense, any fear, any reservation. her eyes widen, and she looks back up at the other umamusume with an almost vulnerable shock. "you..."

the breeze rustles her hair, making her ears twitch. on the wind carries a soft, low voice that cafe surmises only she can hear.

i'll... help. she... is kind.

she squeezes bakushin's hand gently. "... we'll help you. we'd be glad to."

Bakushin's smile is bright, like the sun on a summer's day. She squeezes Cafe's hand back just as gently.

"Great! I am glad your friend is willing to help, too! You speak so highly of them, so I am really happy to hear that." She lets go of Cafe's hand and straigthens her posture.

"Two tracks should be easier to start with, but it still might take some time. Things are really different here..." Bakushin trails off.

"Maybe we should start a group chat for planning?"
