world on fire ;; [open]
Things always seemed to get worse in this place. Not that LoÏc wasn’t expecting it or anything, but he was kind of getting tired of having to deal with everyone else while it was happening. He was not a happy camper, and his head itching so badly was horrible in conjunction with these stupid nails. How did those people DEAL with nails like that. Not only did he break the skin of his scalp because of it, but his fingers felt ridiculously uncomfortable as well, and everything was starting to get on his nerves. He was doing his best to calm down, and with the opening of a band room, he decided that was the best place to head. Just like his old high school.
What he didn’t take into account was that his nails were going to get in the way of his flute-playing. It was the most awkward attempt at the instrument since he first picked one up, and he poked himself in the face a good number of times trying to figure things out. No matter how professional he tried to act, he was still a teenage kid. A very frustrated, very upset teenage kid. Giving up the attempt at music, he groaned loudly and sunk to the floor, lying down with a soft thump. And then the announcement happened. And everything felt like it was being pulled apart and he thought he was dying and Jesus maybe it would’ve been better if he DID die. Pained screams filled the room for a short moment, he curled up tightly, squirming uncomfortably until the changes stopped once again. He froze in place, silent outside of a quiet hissing sound.
Minutes later, the door creaked open, and Loïc immediately scrambled to his feet, as if he wasn’t just screaming and rolling around on the floor like a fucking disappointment. He did NOT look happy. With crossed arms, he faced the intruder, staying quiet for a moment.
“Tabarnak, what is it.”
Maybe the day will go a little better if she learned how to play an instrument, Xue thought.
Maybe being almost strangled and tossed around by a rag doll, and then mocked by her room mate wasn’t so bad. The rain thing, could be worse too. Well, except for the fact the rain cloud didn’t hover over her this time, but it slowly kept on expanding until it stretched over the entire section of the new area they got. She hoped they had drains around here, having the place flood again would not be nice. Thanks, Florian.
Of course, the poor girl didn’t anticipate being moist once more, so showering and changing back into her regular clothes was obviously, pointless. So, here she was, ruining her favorite jacket and dress again, all because she decided to sprout a rain cloud again. This occurrence was probably, at most, weirder than her.
Seeing how the massive cloud that was raining all over, and sometimes thundering, was still following her, she thought it would be better to not wander around much.
Which meant, she was going to wander around to see what would happen to the cloud.
Before entering the band room, she called out “<Knock, knock!>” and swung open the door without waiting for a response. Xue, you didn’t even knock on the door. She paused when she saw Lotion Man– she meant, Loic in the corner of her eye and rushed up to him.
“AAAHHHH!!!” Thank you, Xue.
“You got the HISSS HISS!!” What does this even mean. “And, <gasp> your nails! Your nails, they grow! Like before, Lotion Man! You looked tired, but you always alwaaays look tired. You are using the uh.. the lube, correct? Use it more, it shall relax you!”
She realized she didn’t let him speak and shut her mouth. Only for a bit.
“So how is Lotion Man feeling?”
Just what he needed to brighten his day. A dose of fucking rain. And the star girl to boot. He felt a couple of his brain cells just up and give up on the world as a deep sense of pure unbridled rage washed over him. Or maybe that was just the raindrops. He couldn’t really tell, because either way he was burning and his fingers twitched as he watched Xue approach him. Not now. Please not now. Anything but this. He slowly tilted his head up to face the ceiling, as if asking God, if you’re really out there, please give me a fucking break.
“...Hello, Mme. Luo.”
With a deep sigh, his gaze dropped back down to Xue as she talked. He did his best to ignore everything she was saying, really. His eyelids closed, and he tried his best to focus on his breathing instead. The sensation of things constantly wiggling around in his hair was really fucking ticking him off. He looked like he might’ve even been vibrating very gently, just so full of angry energy that he couldn’t keep himself still.
Before he could speak again, he had to take a deep breath to steady himself. His fingers shook, slightly numb to him. His head felt hot and he really just wanted to scream at the moment. He couldn’t, though. That wasn’t professional. Instead, he stayed eerily quiet for a long moment, eyes once again closing and opening.
“Yes, aren’t I pleased. I think I’m just fine. Not tired at all. The only tired I am is tired of all of this... this.... Augh. No, never mind. Do not speak to me like that. I’m having none of this I am not in the mood to deal with bullshit right now, Mme. Luo.”
There was a rage in his eyes that was only dulled from how bloodshot red they were. Or maybe that made it more intense.
“I am not feeling well at all and I would appreciate it if you took that into consideration before making my day worse.”
His voice was less careful than usual, an uncharacteristic roughness grazed his syllables. He was tired. He was angry. And he was not ready to deal with Xue of all people.
