my iPad was blowing up with a bunch of asks like this one, lol. I did in fact quit tumblr. Not shifting, just tumblr. Unfortunately it took over my life, I was failing my college classes, I was putting my 1100% into this acc that I burnt myself out academically. Not just that but I sadly sunk into a deep depression about shifting. That sucked balls. I’m now very much in a better place, and my journey with shifting has become 1000% better without comparing myself to other shifters and their journey with shifting. ps. Thank you all for the happy birthday wishes and I just want to thank you all. Y’all are the best community and ppl I’ve ever met online. You guys are my online home. since its officially may, the start of summer, i thought…why not change my theme a bit?

yesterday on my way to work, my mom was driving. mind you i’m irritated as fuck, i got minimum 4 hours of sleep, and i want nothing to do with work. i got the chair laid down all the way, my hoodie covering my eyes from light. i’ve been on a high ever since watch the “Michael” movie, lwk might watch it again, anywho im listening to his music, not really aware of my surroundings

im just trying to get a nap in before i get to work. not thinking about shit, just letting the music flow and relaxing. y’all know how you familiarize with certain turns? no? well i do. i can feel myself getting closer and closer. we stop at a light. i uncover my eyes, thinking im already in hell, where not. i close my eyes shut, hard thinking something along the line of “get me out of here”

vivienne rivers, mostly called vienna, is a girl born and raised in california. most of her life had been average, good grades, good relationships, good family, nothing unexpected. vienna was average, blending within the crowd of people around her, even with her bright smile vienna couldn’t be pointed out. raised with two siblings, her being the middle child of course! she’d learned a lot of valuable informations and advise since she was the most “responsible” and “mature” out her siblings. (like she didn’t already know) being quiet also got you very far, like a seat in the adult table.

now, did she understand much at 10? no who would with lore missing. all she knew was that if she was a goody two shoe too three of the oldest in the annual family reunion, she might just get lucky to piece it all together. although throughout those years vienna would receive a letter here and there from her distant grandfathers, that were somehow connected by a fifth cousin removed?, three letter all designated to her. they would ask what she wanted to be when she grew up, what her favorite colors where that year, how her family was doing, if she’d finally traveled outside of california. pages filled with questions. vienna would answer, mostly because her mother would remind her that they were probably lonely and it was bad manners to not respond.

so she did, and she wrote her answers and questions of her own. from ages 11 to 14 she would receive these letter and then at 15 they stopped. it was at that age that suddenly there were no annual family met ups, at least any that her family were invited too. it was during christmas that she finally found out why, all of them had died. vienna had been accustomed to wait these letter she instead moved up with her life. she got her drivers license, she started her first part time job, little stuff like that made her forget all about those letters.

on her eighteenth birthday she received a letter. like a slap from the universe, the old letters that she carefully put into a nice shoe box, fell from her closet as she tried to find a pair of sweatpants to sleep in. that night vienna, with full confidence, finally could say she’d seen more zeros than ever imaged. she nearly broker her arm as she made her way downstairs to show her parents.

from what the lawyers had said, she’d been a fucking trillionaire since she was 15. suddenly all those letters made sense, the sudden distance from all her family. i mean why else would her family be uninvited to the fucking annual family carne asada? now at eighteen she’s owner of multiple houses all around the world, she was starting to regret being a goody two shoes right about now.

lemons and leather one summer when we were kids, i created a lemonade stand to raise money for non-profit wildlife and environmental organizations. Lorenzo (my brother) laughed at me, but Benjamin (s/o) gave me this look as if he was seeing me or rather the person i would become. that day smelled like heaven and freshly squeezed lemon. he always smells like his cologne (teakwood and leather), and yet somehow, a faint lemony scent follows him everywhere and i whenever i get a whiff i sometimes wonder if it is on purpose.

affection Benjamin had always been one of few words, he's quiet around people he doesn't know very well, if at all. he's an artist, he loves sketching and writing, sometimes even a highlighted quote in a book is how he'll show his affection. he's also a hoverer; he's not talkative but he's always near. he's shows his love quietly, quality time, physical touch, and small gifts!

comfort in company both Benji and i are homebodies, we are friends when i shift, so we tend to not spend as much time alone as we do with our friend group. when we're at social gatherings we stay close to each other our of comfort and habit. we'd both rather stay in by the fire and order takeout during winter holiday.

the summer versions of us despite our lack of need to socialize, we do have a pretty big friends group–especially during the summer when we head down to Cousins. we can typically be found going on morning muffin/coffee runs, eating lunch out by our pools, and on the beach at bonfires after noon. there's the deb ball every beach season and organized beach-clean-ups we help set-up and take part in. it might be the summer air, or maybe it's just the magic of Cousins, but we come out of our shell this time of year.

(Rollercoaster, Bleachers). this song always pops into my head when i think of Benjamin. yes, we share a love for the classics, but we also love a good summer song. when i hear this song, i instantly think of our relationship and what could possibly change this summer.

love in the little things when i receive an award or accomplish a goal i'd set out for myself, i always celebrate with my family and friends (which includes Benji). he'll normally slip me a piece of paper or a small present privately. when he receives an award i'm more vocal about my congratulations. he gets embarrassed about it, but i know he secretly adores it. this happens with birthdays and holidays as well–except Halloween, we're both October-maniacs and are not afraid to show it.

summer of what ifs our entire lives it's been this "will they, won't they?" kind of relationship. i've known i've had a crush on him since the age of 13, this summer i'm being a bit more bold about myself–i'm not just looking at him anymoe–at least i'm trying not to. he's got this silent energy about him that keeps me wondering if he sees me more than his best friends little sister.

held, just long enough i'm typically very nervous before giving a speech–i do my best to be a good advocate for climate change and how it affects the environment. i am the vice president of key club and–and with that comes a lot of public speaking–which intensifies my anxiety. only my close family and friends know this about me, they encourage me with smiles and nice words, but, Benji, he always takes a moment to hold my hand. he'll squeeze it three times before letting go, almost like a quiet countdown.

the echo of addie everyone calls me Adelina or Lina. Benji's the only one that calls me Addie. he picked it up around age 9. my father had just congratulated me and had said, "adda girl" to which Ren and Benji had overheard and snickered at. i'd made a face at them and right after Benji had said, "it kind of fits, though, Adda–Addie." at the time i'd hated the nickname, but as we got older, it became one of the few things i still had of my childhood. he only calls me Adelina when he's mad at me, but Benji's never mad at me.

before we knew what it meant for me, it's always been him. he was there when i was born, my brother's best friends. the boy next door. i grew up with him. i laughed with him. he was there for my losses and my wins. he saw me through every phase i've ever had. he knew everything about me even when he didn't know anything at all. i was his before we even knew what that meant.
