HAHA ommmgggg yes this must happen b/c can you even imagine them in this scenario?? Especially if it's a game that Marshall has come up with that's supppperr complicated and Sawyer is like ???? Like idk like Barney approached him about a game and made it sound like they were gambling over a poker game or something but it turned out to be this and Sawyer is like WHY DO I HAVE ALL THIS MONEY RIDING ON WHETHER OR NOT I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH THE GUMDROP MOUNTAINS?? ;D

Haha but seriously, they'd probs meet at Mclaren's?? Like Sawyer might be drinking/scouting out his next victim/etc. and he meets Marshall????

I think that’s the magic to our whole show, to be honest. Like, right from the pilot on, we really do laugh at each other’s jokes a lot on set. And a lot of times in sitcoms there’s like a convention where like someone says something truly funny and the rest of the characters are like, “Oh, Robert.” But when your friend says something funny, you laugh, you know? And that’s the spirit of our show. We all really enjoy each other.

Marshall to the Rescue || Marshal & Lily

"Marshalllll," Lily called, closing the door to the apartment behind her and dropping her school bag unceremoniously next to the doorway. She kicked off her shoes and threw her coat on the coat rack with a grunt, then shuffled into the kitchen to grab a beer. After expertly removing the cap, she took a swig of it, belched loudly, and flopped onto the couch. 

Lily was not the most ladylike woman in the world, but it was very rare that she was quite this unrefined. But after the day she’d had, she thought that she deserved to let loose a little. Between the gigantic paint spill that her little terrors had created in the classroom to being guilt-tripped into overseeing the set design for the school play, Lily could feel a major headache coming on. And the one and only person perfectly equipped to dispense with what promised to be the Headache of the Year was nowhere to be found… where on earth was Marshall?, Lily wondered, pouting.

Marshall was running up the stairs to their apartment, taking them two at a time. The weight that had been on his shoulders had been lifted. He'd been stressing about the grade of a paper he had written a week ago -- one that he had put off all weekend until about 11PM Sunday night.

Bursting through the door, he announced himself with: "Babe, check it out. Guess who wrote a kick-ass paper in two hours?" He asked, slamming down his graded essay on the coffee table, "Answer: this guy."

He paused, getting a good look at Lily for the first time, "Wait ... shoes off, beer, couch ... before 5:30 ... your day sucked, huh?" He asked. He knew Lily well: almost as well as he knew himself. "I'm so sorry, baby. What happened?" He asked, dropping his bags to the floor.

"But thank god it's Friday, so you can have a couple of those ... or something a little stronger."

who doesn't LOVE Marshall I mean, how can you not??? ;D Also Marshall would be all about Rick being a cop. Like, "Right on, man. Putting away the bad guys." I def feel like he'd buy him a round when/if Rick comes into McClaren's, but omgggg tho I feel like Rick would be totally out of place if he ever hung out with Marshall & co B/C RICK/BARNEY HOW WOULD THAT EVEN WORK ??? Anyway, I can basically see them as casual buddies who sometimes chill?? And Marshall and Lily probably invited Rick & Lori to do couples things with them and IT FAILED SO MUCH B/C I CAN'T EVEN WITH LORI/LILY LIKE ???????

Me too!!! Haha Dan and I actually say that Lily and Marshall are our relationship alter egos because they act pretty much just like we do… I don’t have *that* much in common with Lily, but I swear Dan is the real life version of Marshall, ha. So this should come pretty naturally!

Umm.. Yeah, I think recently engaged would be great too! I think there’s the most flexibility with that. And we can just skip over the god awful breakup at the end of season 1, for the time being… that was the worst *cringes*

Like they've been together forever, already, and I feel like they really can only be shipped with each other, you know? GOLD TOTALLY NEEDS TO OWN MCCLAREN'S. And he should come in a lot to like ~check things out. And Marshall should be terrified of him and think he's a vampire or something and tries to convince the group that he's evil and they are like "Marshall, he's just a grumpy old man." And he's like "NO." And he basically tries to spill garlic on him and thinks his cane is basically his version of a "daylight ring" and basically has all of these Gold is a vampire conspiracies.

Alana would totally just laugh a little and be like: “I like this. I have resolved to be your personal law-career cheerleader, Marshall Erickson.” And thus an epic friendship would be born in which Alana leaves lots of inspirational notes and probably food treats for Marshall all over campus.

And gr8. I think campus would probably make the most sense for where these two run into each other. Maybe they meet through one or both of them needing to talk to Ted about something/Alana’s leaving a quick meeting with him and runs into Marshall/something? And also ALANA WOULD SO BE FLATTERED ABOUT ALL THE MAJOR RESPECT. Like she’d be all: “hella yeah, i’m a boss-ass bitch, thx for noticing, sir.” Haha.

So I just realized that with Tina and I deciding that Ted and Alana are gonna be friends, we should probably also talk about these two! Mostly because I’m sure they’ll have met at some point or another.

Mostly I think Alana would like Marshall. She’d love that he’s not really like most of the lawyers and law people she deals with on a regular basis with her FBI connections. He’s nicer and sweeter and a lot funnier, which Alana ALWAYS appreciates.

Plus, I mean, if Marshall goes to the same school that Alana and Ted teach at, they probably would run into each other around the school maybe, and I could see Alana being like: “heyyy… You’re ~Ted’s friend, right?” haha.

Okay, so wow I think if Alana ever said that he's the funniest/sweetest lawyer she knows, he'll be like DAMN STRAIGHT. And like, it would make him really happy to hear that. Like he's all about being different from most big shot lawyers and is like HELL YEAH, I'M GONNA SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT. 

Also, yeah they could totally run into each other there. And probably even met there through Ted? And I think Marshall would really like Alana, too. I mean, he gets along with most ppl, plus he'd be all MAJOR RESPECT, YO b/c Alana's job is all about helping others, too. So yeah, THIS FRIENDSHIP NEEDS TO HAPPEN. XXD
