Raise your hand if you don’t have Halloween plans cause your chronically ill body and the things it does is scary enough.
a crazy pale complexion from never leaving the house
dark circles from never sleeping/insomnia
joints that dislocate at the drop of a hat
blood pooling in legs (bad circulation/POTS)
etc.

hello tumblr...it’s me Hannah!
It’s been such a long time since I’ve been on my tumblr. The past year I’ve been in school and it’s taken up such an incredible amount of my time. This past spring I was doing a full quarter load of classes & literally had no room for getting distracted by the bottomless pit of fun & intrigue that is tumblr.
As many of you with chronic illnesses know, it’s incredibly hard sometimes to keep up with the so called “normal” things of life, like school. Last quarter was especially hard for me. I was caught in the not so fun cycle of completing school work, having a flare, and then spending my “free time” catching up on the school work I had put off while I was flaring. This left me feeling as if I had little extra time to just enjoy life.
I’m just finishing my second week of school, but I’ve been having a POTS flare since Monday. It’s seriously no fun and unbelievably stressful to be trying to catch up on school work when I’m only two weeks in. I tend to get my worst chronic illness flares during the fall, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that this is happening.
Long story short even before my flare I was questioning the amount of time & energy I was putting into school because I’m still not sure what to study and if I will even be healthy enough by the time I need to transfer. When this flare hit it just felt right to admit that I need some time to rest. I will still be taking one class and I’m lucky I will still have enough credits by the end of this year to transfer even with this break. I hated making the decision to cut back on school, but my body isn’t fit for it right now and in the end I now will have more time to explore & figure out my major. Today I woke up excited about having more free time. I hope to bake more, possibly get a low-key part time job (once my flare is under control), volunteer, and actually keep up with my tumblr pages (this one & my positive spoonie blog)! I truly have missed the chronic illness/spoonie community on here, and I look forward to hopefully reconnecting with some of my fellow spoonies soon!
love ♥︎❀ and spoons to all & happy fall!
p.s. I’m trying to catch up on following back fellow spoonies! Forgive the long delay please :)
