one of the cutest things in s1 is mulder casually asking scully to go see the liberty bell with him while they’re in philadelphia on a case, after she had complained about wanting “a life,” not even knowing that she had told her friend in the previous episode that her cute coworker is just too obsessed with work. like he literally took her on a lil activity

the way that when mulder sees his dad in colony he reaches out to hug him

and gets cut off with a handshake

is so sad to me because the next time that mulder goes to see his dad, in anasazi, he instantly shakes his hand

he just notices and internalizes everything around him and the way people respond to him and what people want from him, and moments like this where he’s remembering and acting out of that learned information, are so telling

For the record this is missing the post where he explains that she didnt go in specifically to harrass the worker. She went in there just to inform something along the lines of " i know you dont have control of this but the sign is misleading and I need to tell your manager" but then the worker started preaching the "true science" and girl had the green light to go to war from there
