One thing I think the fandom sometimes forgets is that Maul is canonically disabled. He is an amputee. Not just missing a limb or a few fingers, but his ENTIRE lower half. There are definitely some fics out there that really do this characterization well though.

Yeah, he's incredibly capable in combat, and his cybernetic legs let him do things that seem almost impossible. But that doesn't change the fact that he lost the entire lower half of his body. It’s one of the defining aspects of his character, physically and mentally. Maul: Shadow Lord also reminds us that his prosthetics come with limitations and aren't a perfect replacement for a biological body.

Which got me thinking about something I can't stop wondering:

How does Maul actually eat, digest and pass food?

Do you think his cybernetics include something like a stoma or an artificial waste-processing system? Has there ever been any lore that addresses this, or is it just one of those questions we're not supposed to think too hard about?

Thinking yet again about the 🥺 raw hope on Maul’s face when he thinks he hears his presumed-dead enemy’s voice: he’s never treated Obi Wan like an enemy soldier who defeated him in battle, but a comrade who betrayed and abandoned him, he spends TCW acting like Obi Wan left him at the altar. In this scene his yellow Sith eyes are desaturated down to khakhi and he is actually, truly, for real crying a single perfect tear, because that’s the ANH tagline: help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope. Whatever attraction was going on during their duel in TPM got magnified into Kenobi becoming one of the main emotional anchors of Maul’s life when he was in total isolation for a decade and this one perfect duel with his perfect match was the last human contact he ever had, because Obi-Wan was the last person to see him alive. It kills me that Maul spent more or less his entire adult life having this intense one-sided Gideon and Harrowhark relationship with someone who didn’t even remember him the next time they met. In this scene, like in the final Mandalore arc where he wanted them to team up and save the galaxy together, he’s completely over the delusion of wanting revenge, he loves this man, and he’s letting himself believe for the briefest moment that he survived the purge and finally came back for him

Maram is a 26 year old woman living in Gaza, currently caring for her destitute family, who all experienced a violent bombing attack on May 22nd by the Isreali occupation. During this attack, her middle son Ibrahim was horribly impacted and requires IMMEDIATE surgery for his injuries. Ibrahim is 7 years old. This is the age where kids start elementary school. They learn to jump rope, decide their favorite book, laugh and play in the yard. Imagine the grief and trauma instilled in that young of a mind. He is in constant pain, trapped isolated in a medical tent, facing possible death. How do you reconcile that? How do you explain that even, to someone who's life has barely begun?

Every second in this situation counts. Over the past two months, we've managed to raise over $650 for Maram's son Ziad, and their whole families well-being. I KNOW that we can do more. Maram is moving mountains for her children, but she can only do so much on her own without income. She is begging for our help.
