I really hope I am not bothering you- I wrote in a request for a part 2 of your maul x princess or maul x Queen headcannons previously. On the other hand if you didn't want to write for them that's OK, I understand.

I had come up with a story very similar to your princess headcannons that I wanted to write up, even down to some of the small details- and when I came a across what you wrote I was so happy to see that someone else came up with a similar idea :D I'm just too dreadfully busy and overwhelmed to write.

Would Maul enjoy naps? I feel like it’d be something he’d have to be encouraged to do by his partner, but I think he’d enjoy the vulnerability after a while. Maybe resting on reader while they read something.

he would! but i totally agree its something his partner would have to convince him to do.

and i think it happens on accident the first time. like maybe theyre body doubling- maul is on his datapad and his partner is watching or tinkering with something. and maul is so relaxed and exhausted (lbr he's chronically exhausted) that he dozes off.

and it genuinely shocks him when he wakes up because he doesnt jolt awake or wake up delirious when you nap for too long. he feels rested and its confusing because naps are something that he was never permitted to do.

its all because he feels safe in his partners presence. its not just afternoon naps, he starts sleeping better in general. less nightmares, easier to fall asleep, easier to fall back asleep. it would take awhile for maul to actively takes naps, but he'd get there eventually.

his absolute favorite place to nap is in his partners lap. especially if you stroke the skin at the base of his horns? bros a goner. otherwise, most of his naps would be taken in a chair with his arms crossed rather than the bed. a true dad nap without the snoring

also, i can see maul eventually becoming comfortable enough to reach for his partner in the middle of the night if he woke up from a nightmare :( maybe not waking them up, but just being close helps calm him
