“y/n~ pretty girl was made to take me,” yunho breaths out, voice heavy as it rings in your ears. “to take me so well.”

whining progressively louder, you reach to grab at his forearms, nails digging into his skin as he moans lightly. “y/n-”

“y/n?” yunho says louder than previous, shaking a bit more before your eyes shoot open, sitting up quickly as you gulp. yunho lets out a light laugh at your swiftness, hand holding onto your shoulder as you look at him. “i think you were having a nightmare, tiny,” he teases, watching as you become timid under his gaze, eyes trailing down where your thighs shift against the bed.

“would you like to talk about it?” he asks, an edge to his voice as he pulls you closer, sitting up as well, bringing his other hand forward to grasp your chin and pull you closer to his face. “it might make you feel better to get it off your chest.”

bittersweet. 

bittersweet was the only way to describe a tour coming to a close. knowing you wouldn’t be able to do yunho’s makeup as often once this week ends breaks you a bit, even if you still got to see him a majority of days for other purposes.

you were shocked how in only a few months you had managed to become so close with a man that you thought was ignoring you for the last 3 years you have worked with him. you still felt guilty; and on many occasions, yunho expressed feeling the same way.

you shouldn’t have become as close as you two have. swapping roommates with seonghwa, stealing small kisses while in public, only to willingly give them while in private for the last few weeks since the first; it all never should have happened.

it kept you up - thinking about it all. how you’re not only jeopardizing your job, but yunho’s as well. you wished you could climb out of whatever you and yunho had fallen into, not because you didn’t wish to be where you are, but because there was too much at risk for the both of you.

you lay on the bed, arms at your side and feet dangling off the edge as you wait for yunho. thankful the night before, you were able to come up with a half-assed nightmare you had that yunho just happened to be in to save yourself. yunho didn’t seem all too convinced, just offering a nod and a playful smile before finally giving in and falling back asleep.

you let out a sigh; he said he was heading to one of the vending machines. you offered to go with him, but he frantically denied, leaving you alone in the hotel room.

“i swear to god, yunho,” wooyoung lets out, leaning against the vending machine the mentioned man was punching numbers into. “if i hear even one word come out of y/n’s mouth that insinuates you upset her, i will not hesitate to jump your tall ass.”

“you already know i would never hurt her,” yunho says, leaning down to grab each snack he wished for. “i asked you to be my wingman, not be her overprotective parent.”

“but you’re still trying to get with one of my closest friends outside of the group. you know how difficult it is to do that now, i don’t want to lose her; metaphorically, of course,” wooyoung replies, his arms crossing over his chest as he stares daggers at him.

“you aren’t going to lose her, woo. you know that,” yunho sighs. “the only reason she’s been talking with me so much is because she has to work with me directly now, she still talks to you, doesn’t she?”

“well, yeah,” the shorter boy sighs, both beginning their descent down the hallway again. “not as often, though. all her time is now taken up by this six-foot tall vocalist.”

“he sounds dreamy,” yunho laughs, causing a small chuckle to escape wooyoung as well.

“i’m being serious, yunho. treat her well, please.”

“i’ve never had any intention of doing anything else.”

the movie you and yunho had chosen became background noise as he held your face close to his own, his smile causing one to spread across your own face as he pressed small pecks to your cheeks and forehead.

his light giggles between kisses made your heart flutter, his smile never faltering as he sat you between his open legs. you wrap your arms around his middle as he pulls you into his chest, feeling his heartbeat against your ear.

you found it endearing; knowing your heart was beating at the same pace as his fingers drew small shapes on your back. “i can’t believe we only have three more concerts before the tour is over…” yunho sighs, allowing the movie to fill the areas of silence between his sentences. “then we’ll be back home, and i’ll have my regular makeup artist back,” he finishes.

“i’m sure she’s not that bad,” you say, pulling your face away from his chest to sit back at his side.

“she isn’t,” he says softly as you take his hand in your own, playing with his fingers as he speaks. “but compared to you…”

“you give me more credit than i deserve-”

“you deserve to know how appreciated and needed you are,” yunho says quickly, his voice airy as he cuts you off, to which you stay silent, his hands grabbing a hold of yours and sliding his thumbs over them.

you smile to yourself, watching his actions as he smiles as well, his eyes scanning over your features. his eyes were full of admiration when you looked up at him, his smile still present as his hands tightened around your own.

one of his hands releases yours, finding purchase on the side of your neck. you felt yourself instinctively leaning forward, watching as yunho smiles before closing the minimal distance between you two.

his lips were soft and plush; gentle, but you could feel the need behind it. one hand still holding your own, his other’s thumb glides over the skin of your neck, the feeling oddly comforting as he nips and pecks at your lips.

you allow him to, his hand squeezing yours in his grasp before kissing your temple and pulling back, just far enough for you to meet his eyes. “it’s a bit late, isn’t it?” he says softly, and without a fight, you let him reach over your body and turn off the bedside lamp. "let's sleep."

setting the proper alarms, you leave your phone on the table before adjusting your body to lay down. even with the minimal light, you could see yunho smiling at you, his arms open and waiting for you to come closer.

returning the smile, you shift to lay against his chest, arms holding you close and you hear him let out a long, drawn out sigh. he remains silent, the calming feeling of his fingertips tracing shapes onto your clothes lulling you a bit as he presses a kiss to the crown of your head.

“goodnight, sleep well, y/n,” he whispers, being able to hear his smile through his words.

“goodnight, yunho,” you reply, a smile evident on your face as well before shutting your eyes once again, the feeling of yunho’s chest rising and falling with his breaths against your cheek.

“shit!” wooyoung says while making his way back to his makeup chair.

looking in his direction, you watch as he stumbles a bit, stabilizing himself on minwoo’s station with his phone in his other hand. you hear as plastic hit the wooden floor, minwoo turning to the side to notice different packages of makeup on the floor.

“sorry, min,” wooyoung states as he crouches down, beginning to pick up the packages.

“it’s chill. i got it, you go get your makeup done,” minwoo replies calmly, flashing wooyoung a reassuring smile before wooyoung stands, approaching a patiently waiting sohee.

“it seems like wooyoung looses his footing more as he grows up,” you joke, yunho opening his eyes and flashing you a smile, a light, breathy laugh escaping him as you continue his makeup.

“this sucks,” you hear from beside you, looking up from yunho’s face and noticing minwoo staring down into an eyeshadow pod.

“that’s a mean thing to say to yeosang,” you joke, minwoo flashing you an unamused glare before turning to put the pod down on his stations desk.

“i’m stealing yours,” he says. “my eyeshadow got cracked, its fucked.”

“usually when you steal something, you don’t tell the person you’re stealing from, dumbass,” a light laugh escapes you as you speak, head turning back to yunho as he looks up at you, seemingly enjoying the playful banter by the small smile on his face.

“you tell me not to be mean to yeosang, but you’re mean to me,” minwoo says, nudging your side with his elbow as he scoots past you and back to where yeosang sat, that small nudge being enough to make you lose your footing. stumbling forward, yunho was quick to place his hands on your hips, catching your form before you could land on top of him - even though he wouldn’t have minded that outcome either.

“careful, y/n,” yunho whispers, using his hands to push you up to regain your prior stance before flashing you a smile. "you're turning into woo, it seems."

“what did i tell you about smiling?” you say, your voice light as he looks up at you with the softest eyes. “you’ll crease the foundation, yunho.”

the sound of the studio door opening caused you to turn your head upwards from yunho’s face, his own turning to the side to see hongjoong stepping into the room in his new attire.

“y/n, do you know where i left my phone? i thought it was in the pocket of my old clothes but it wasn’t,” he asks, approaching his makeup chair and looking around on the floor and desk.

“i haven’t seen it, no,” you reply, watching as he purses his lips in confusion before he looks at you.

“it’s brown with some white decals,” he says, his eyes flicking down to where yunho’s hands rested on your hips for just a moment before he met yours again. “if you see it, let me know, please.” he finishes, giving yunho a knowing look - one that causes yunho’s brows to furrow slightly - before leaving the studio once again.

“did you see that look he gave us?” yunho asks once hongjoong was out of earshot, his focus set on you as you pulled away from him, his hands falling from your waist during the process.

“what look?” you ask, brows knitting together as you look at him through the mirror, hands searching through the countless makeup products you had displayed.

“it was just… weird,” yunho explains, his head turning to the side when he notices what seems like a scolding sohee and a giggling wooyoung. “i’m not sure how to describe it,” he finishes, doing his best to talk over wooyoung’s loud laughter.

“maybe you’re just reading into it too much? he did seem a bit stressed about his phone being missing,” you suggest, turning back around to face him as you adjust his hair to frame his face, big doe eyes staring up at you. “i’m sure it was nothing against you, yunho-”

your sentence was cut short from sohee’s aggravated tone, turning your head to see the commotion.

“that isn’t a nice thing to do, woo. that’s someone's personal item!” you hear her say, a giggly wooyoung in his chair while he takes pictures of himself in the vanity mirror, the phone’s case a sleek brown with small white decals.

you purse your lips, yunho seeming to come to the same realization as he lets out a light chuckle. “little shit.”

you let out your own laugh at his comment, the both of you smiling as you shake your head. “maybe if i tell him where his phone is, whatever vendetta he has against me will be cleared." yunho concludes.

“are you sure it wasn’t in there?” chaebyul asks as hongjoong enters the dressing room once again, scrambling to his clothes to search through them.

“yeah, my chair and station were all cleared.”

“maybe ask hwa, he was next to you in the studio, maybe he saw it,” chaebyul says. hongjoong lets out a sigh, calming his nerves before nodding, thanking chaebyul before he leaves once again, a new mission in mind: find seonghwa.

his eyes scan down each hallway he passes while making his way backstage, rubbing his hands together and pushing his fingers back as he continues his commute. the raven haired man comes into his view, hongjoong subconsciously quickening his pace as he approaches him.

“seonghwa?” he says, the mentioned man turning towards him as he comes closer. “have you seen my phone? i can’t seem to find it anywhere.”

“i don’t think i have?” seonghwa answers, his tone sounding more like a question rather than a definitive answer as he looks around, searching for anything that resembles hongjoong's phone. “we know for sure its here, after the show i can try and help you find it.”

“i was hoping to find it before the show, but if i can’t, having help after would be appreciated,” hongjoong nods, accepting his temporary defeat as he lifts his face skyward, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

“hyung!” hongjoong and seonghwa turn towards the voice, noticing yunho jogging down the hallway towards where they stood. “wooyoung took your phone - i fought him for it.”

“physically?” seonghwa says, eyes growing a bit wider at the thought.

“no, seonghwa, just held him down while i grabbed it from him. he was taking pictures on it, though, don’t know how many.”

“thank you, yunho,” hongjoong says, a grateful smile on his face as yunho flashes one of his own before heading back down the same hallway he recently emerged from.

a relieved sigh leaves hongjoongs lips as he opens his photos, letting out a laugh of disbelief at the seemingly hundreds of new pictures in his gallery, shutting off the device to deal with later. licking his lips in the newfound silence, hongjoong thinks back to what he had seen in the makeup studio.

furrowing his brows, hongjoong speaks up: “you’re rooming with yunho right now, right?” he asks, turning his face to seonghwa, who seemed to have a surprised look, but quickly wiping it away before answering.

“yeah, why?” seonghwa questions, trying to keep his voice steady, fearing hongjoong’s reaction to yunho and his endeavors.

“has he ever talked about y/n to you? like, in a way that makes it seem like he wants to pursue her?”

“you’re using quite extravagant language,” seonghwa chuckles, trying to lighten the dense atmosphere he found himself in. “and no, he hasn’t - not to me, at least.”

hongjoong nods in response and curiosity got the best of seonghwa, hesitating for just a moment before breaking the silence once again. “why do you ask? did he say something to you?”

hongjoong shook his head. “no, but when i went back into the studio, he just seemed oddly close and comfortable with her,” he explains. “obviously, i’m glad he’s friendly with the staff - and i know its not unlike him to be friendly - but it just felt odd seeing his hands on her waist… i don’t know, i hope i’m just being paranoid. 

“we can’t risk any group members getting into a dating scandal, not right now,” hongjoong finishes, feeling relieved that his questioning thought were out of his troubled brain.

seonghwa, on the other hand, was now feeling anxious in the presence of hongjoong, being fully aware of his thoughts about sohee. his mind racing, thinking about how close he had gotten with her, all suddenly being taken away from him; it was something he never thought he would have to fear. but as the possibility grew more apparent, he couldn’t help but feel the need to protect his secret at all costs.

“i can try to pry anything i can out of him,” seonghwa suggests as hongjoong looks at him, seonghwa not being able to bear making eye contact with the man. “like you said, we can’t risk anyone getting into a dating scandal. he shouldn’t get romantically involved with anyone.”

“it relieves me a bit knowing you’re on my side. thanks, seonghwa,” hongjoong says, his tone genuine as seonghwa offers a smile, hoping it was enough to mask his own hypocrisy.

“of course.”

Whew chile,

This is gonna be long but here we go.

I just reread the series for the first time in a long while. I wanted to make sure you were back and ok before i read it again. It has taken me months to anylze and maybe even see if my feelings chance towards how bad my heart was ripped out but nope still the same so now that I have lets get into it.

First, Dasom. I do not like her. However this is only in the way you don’t like someone because of their first impression but you know they're probably not a bad person or anything. We’ve seen characters like hers from the other side plenty of times where we are rooting for them. The character that goes to see the ex only to be confronted with a new lover and had we been following dasom’s story we'd feel like we hate the oc and/or jk but this story isn’t about her. She is very important because she is Nari’s mom but I still dislike her. She's a bit like jade, in that she may be saying something that's true but her delivery and lack of knowledge on the situation lends to being kind of a bitch. 

Now Mr. JK. Hmm you got yo ass eaten now you wanna act up? Lmao IM JUST KIDDING! I HAD TO SAY IT XD ok seriously, this is the dad you want. Imma get personal for a half a second ok, but my dad always made sure i and anyone he dated knew i was #1 which is what you want. Good on JK for that but he needs to remember that he is still a person. It's not selfish to have a self. As long as your child is top priority you can be a top priority too. He didn't handle that well though. He may think he's being adult and rational but not completely. I hate when people are still so young but they act old. When you're actually old you'll regret it. He's not even 30 yet and their age gap isn't even double digits. You're telling me it's less than a decade between you and you're making yourself seem 40? [redacted lmao] Anway, I respect him for putting his daughter first. That is the type of parent you want however he shouldn't have decided what's best for oc. Yes hes saying she should think about it and all that but he isn't really leaving much for discussion. On the other side, i get being a little blindsided by Dasom and the things she said and also not really wanted to have thart conversation with her but damn jungkook that was a little fucked. He needs to tell her that they literally met BECAUSE of Nari. She immediately hit it off with her and though he could have distanced them and drawn better boundaries it makes sense that she sees nari sometimes. She literally met Nari first. And oc is not stupid, hopefully it was obvious that alot of those things could be down the pipeline if they stay together but you can’t just spring that on someone and say they dont want that. DONT TELL ME WHAT I DO OR DONT WANT! I get what he's saying but wow.

Something i've thought about so much was, when was he going to bring it up with oc had she not mentioned she was upset or had she not heard them talking? I've wondered so much about that because he was carrying on business as usual (well not exactly bc you could tell it affected him but you get it)

Ive literally had so many dreams about this chapter like whew i cant even.

Now Miss OC, the young woman that is in the center of all of this. I hope she is able to grow beyond this well. It hurts just reading it so if this was real I can't even imagine. There are things she has to learn since she is so young but she also is not stupid. She's so much better than me, trying to smile in the end before saying she will think about it and let him know because a btich definitely would be thinking but aint no way im smiling. I'm going stone faced, quietly getting dressed and staying as far away from that mf as possible while i’m leavin. I also love her willingness to listen. I would have been throwing back like *snaps fingers* that! Like no jungkook you clearly don't care about me as much as you think you do because if you did it wouldn’t have been so easy to plant that doubt. She shut your ass up so hard with things you should have at least responded to that now I have doubt in MY heart. Instead of talking this out better you're trying to scare me off. Well I'm not scared but i'm sure as hell doubtful of how much you want me around.

But of course that would have been too fanfic expected in a way, not that its bad and its all valid

All in all this chapter was such a nice read. So good! The characters are well written, well thought out people who feel so real and all have genuine reasons for what they're saying and feeling. Nothing feels like the thrown together project from a single idea that leads to a lackluster conflict with underdeveloped caricatures. Like I said, Dasom feels very real, with her own motivations and love for her daughter. Jungkook is a man that cherishes his daughter while also being in a relationship with someone that he genuinely enjoys being around. OC feels like a character that is where I was kind of at that age, being looked upon like a child by older people but also not quite knowing what she wants but wanting to be happy. There is so much I could not get across while writing this because I want to be coherent and not typing for 4 days but I get every character's side and everyone that replies’ points this is just mainly what I think while reading this.

A Slight Misunderstanding

Summary: Jungkook comes to the wrong conclusions.

Warnings: Namjoon gets caught with his pants down

Note: something short to try and get back into writing. thank you all for waiting. I also believe I didn’t use pronouns for the reader so it should be gn!reader

“Oh no,” you groan and cover your face with your hands. The desk beneath your back is sticky where your shirt is ridden up. 

Jungkook stands frozen in the doorway. The door finishes rattling from the force he swung it open with and his eyes are stretched wide as they stare at you blankly. Jungkook’s cheeks turn flaming red just when he realizes how deep Namjoon’s hips are pressed into yours. 

The slight movement of your leg wrapped around Namjoon’s waist is what causes Jungkook to finally squeeze his eyes shut. So much that you can see the crinkles around his eyes despite the distance between you. You can visibly see Jungkook trying to shake the image of Namjoon’s naked bottom from his brain. 

“I-um-I don’t think I was- I didn’t mean to walk in,” Jungkook frantically backs out of the room with his eyes still shut. You can only silently watch as Jungkook mimics the actions of a cat with a bag stuck on its head. There’s a loud thump as Jungkook slams his elbow into the door hinge. “Why-” Jungkook shoves the door back against the wall in an attempt to grab the handle, “Next time,” he unintentionally caresses the wood, still searching for the handle, “just lock the door.” And with one final bang, the room falls silent as you and Namjoon once again become the sole occupants. 

You look up at Namjoon who’s been frozen still the entire time. As you push him away with your feet, he looks at you, mouth agape and ears red, still not comprehending what just happened. 

“Are you going to get dressed or just stand there all day?” you’re tugging on your shirt when you address Namjoon. If you weren’t mortified at being caught, you would laugh at the man standing in the room with only a shirt and socks on, pants and boxers pooled around his ankles. Namjoon’s focus snaps back and he frantically pulls up his pants with shaky hands. 

“I’m going to kill him.” Anger sets in to mask the embarrassment. Namjoon walks alongside you down the hallway, his jaw wounding tighter with each step. 

“No you won’t,” you look up at him, “you’re the one that forgot to lock the door.” 

“Jungkook!” Namjoon shouts as you both walk into the room everyone is hanging out in. Figures that he wouldn’t hear you. 

Jungkook trips as he quickly gets up from the couch and moves behind Jin. Not that Jin is one to normally protect him, but as the oldest in the group, Jin is the most equipped to send Namjoon away. Jimin’s eyes widen in excitement as he can already surmise what’s about to happen. 

“Something happen?” Hoseok casually walks into the room after hearing Namjoon shout. 

“No.”

Taehyung looks up from his phone when Namjoon and Jungkook simultaneously speak up in denial. You take your place next to Yoongi who sits passively on the couch. His arm instinctively shifts to wrap around your waist and pull you closer to him. The members pay no mind to the slight pda, especially since they’ve become so accustomed to skinship for the sake of public appearances and you and Yoongi have announced to them that you’re dating. 

“Why is Joon mad at Jungkook?” Yoongi quietly asks while scrolling through his phone. 

You lean in so you can whisper directly into his ear as you lean your head on his shoulder, “I’ll tell you later.”

The room goes quiet and Jimin deflates as he realizes that Namjoon and Jungkook will be stuck in a staring contest long before anything is brought to light. 

“Will you-” Jin pushes Jungkook away from him, fed up with the way Jungkook is constantly shifting behind him. To avoid Jungkook using Jin as a shield again, Jin moves to sit next to Hoseok on one of the couches. 

You don’t know if Namjoon and Jungkook are still staring at each other as you watch Yoongi go through his twitter page. Taehyung is currently using their main twitter account so in the meantime, the rest have to go on their secret accounts. 

Yoongi loudly sighs and pulls away from you. “If you’re going to fight, can you just do it now and be over with it,” Yoongi slightly whines. 

Namjoon narrows his eyes and lets out a puff of air from his nose. Jin rolls his eyes as he leaves, pulling out his phone to pretend he’s getting a call. Hoseok watches him leave, contemplating if he too wants to be around for this. 

Jungkook glances between Namjoon and Yoongi, weighing which one he’s more willing to anger. He finally settles just as Namjoon opens his mouth to speak. 

“Y/N is cheating on you with Namjoon!” Jungkook gets the words out as fast as he can. 

Taehyung sits straight and sets his phone on the cushion beside him as he gives Jungkook his full attention at the announcement. Jimin fights to hide the smirk growing on his face. Namjoon brings his hand to his face and coughs, again speechless. You watch Yoongi, waiting for his reaction, as his face has remained completely neutral. 

Yoongi scrunches his nose and squeezes his eyebrows together in one motion and he shifts so he’s facing Jungkook while sitting. “That’s what this is about?” 

“I’m sorry- I caught them together in Namjoon’s studio,” Jungkook nervously explains. “They- they were,” he waves his hand over his body, trying to gesture to Yoongi that you were having sex rather than saying it aloud. 

You groan into your hands and try to sink into the couch. 

Jimin cuts Jungkook off for Yoongi with a laugh. “Jungkook…Jungkook,” the maknae finally looks at Jimin, “he knows.”

It takes a moment for the words to sink in for Jungkook and Taehyung watches in amazement as he goes through the five stages of grief. Taehyung and Jimin are ecstatic, already formulating ways they’ll hold this over the youngest member’s head for months to come. 

“Wait, what?”

Namjoon finally lets out the breath he’s been holding and drops his head in exasperation. 

“You really didn’t know?” Hoseok chimes in, teasing Jungkook.

Jungkook ignores Hoseok and turns back to Yoongi, “You’re just okay with them…” he points back and forth from you to Namjoon. 

Yoongi’s completely lost to Jungkook’s questions. He leans into you, overridden with laughter. His shoulders shake against your stomach and you catch glimpses of his gummy smile as he buries his face into you. It’s another minute before Yoongi composes himself enough to stand in front of Jungkook. 

“I appreciate you telling me,” Yoongi pats Jungkook on the shoulder before gesturing for Namjoon to follow him into another room. 

Jungkook watches them leave, confused. 

“Did Namjoon forget to lock the door again?” Taehyung comments, again focused on whatever is on his phone. 

Betrayal flashes across Jungkook’s face and you think he’s going to say something but ultimately decides not to. He flashes a quick look at Jimin and you, and seeing that you’re both watching him in amusement, he scrunches his face and storms out in the opposite direction Yoongi and Namjoon went. 

“How much longer until he figures out you and Taehyung are fucking?” Jimin asks mischievously. 

Taehyung glances up at the mention of his name. 

“Really, Jimin?” you give a deadpan look. You can still hear Jimin giggling as you walk out of the room. You’re not sure if the small thud came from Hoseok or Taehyung throwing something at Jimin.

If you feel unsafe about voting in person (because, y’know, we’re in the middle of a goddam pandemic) but now fear the USPS will be unable to deliver a “mail-in” ballot in a timely fashion….

1. Request a mail-in ballot.

2. Do not mail it.

3. Google your supervisor of elections to see where you can drop off your mail-in ballot. It’s usually NOT THE POLLING PLACE.

All states allow this! Here is what you’re accomplishing by doing this:

1. Your ballot gets in on time no matter what happens to the USPS.

2. You don’t have to worry about standing in long lines and risking infection. You’re just stopping by to drop it off.

3. You voted! Hooray! I have no doubt Trump and his supporters are doing to try to call into question the legitimacy of mail-in voting (which is more enthusiastically embraced by Democratic supporters, especially now.)

Also, when you drop it off, find out how to track it online to make sure it is verified. California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado have systems that can track your ballot just like tracking a package from Amazon.

All CA vote centers (which are open for weeks to a month before election day) have ballot drop-off boxes too! Many government buildings have them as well, so there’s no need to wait until election day when it’s crowded to drop them off. The list of drop-off sites is always posted on each county’s voter info website.

This is important! This election is crucial! Get out and vote! We! Cannot! Afford! To! Get! Complacent! This year, every vote matters!
