“Pull over.”
Hoseok looks at you incredulously, taking his eyes off the road as he begins to press down on the brakes, car nearing a traffic light.
“Pull over,” you repeat, not meeting his eyes. You continue to stare straight ahead at the sea of brake lights, indicative of the entirety of Seoul rushing to get home before the impending storm.
“You better have a damn good reason for this, Y/N.” Hoseok grumbles as he signals to turn into an empty car park nearby. You don’t answer, heart speeding up to match the tick-tock-tick-tock of the turn signal.
Hands suddenly sweaty, you look out the window. Dark clouds blot out the normally shimmering night sky, and you wonder if your impromptu idea was a bad one. You loved rainy nights, but you and your best friend usually spent such times indoors instead of out in the rain.
“Alright, what now?” Hoseok’s voice breaks you out of your reverie and you belatedly notice that the car has come to a stop in the middle of the deserted parking lot — Hoseok hadn’t bothered to park properly.

You’re both laughing and giggling as you go up to Namjoon’s dorm room, trying not to trip on your feet as you run up the stairs, taking them two by two. The A/C is quickly becoming a problem, your skin breaking out in goosebumps as the wet clothes you’re both wearing go from being wet, to uncomfortably wet and cold.
→ summary: The old tale of Snow White has been passed on by word of mouth for generations on end. Yet in every rendition of the story, you’re nothing but the evil queen, the stepmother of the beloved princess of the kingdom of the Enchanted Forest. But this is your story. Your “villain” origin story. You aren’t as evil as the old tale suggests.

› yoongi x reader / 1.7k words. / pg-15 / fluff, implied enemies to lovers, love and monsters au, apocalypse au, the sexual tension i tried to write here gave me butterflies lmao
You wanted to collapse on the ground the second your eyes focused on the “O613” sign painted on the big makeshift gate, your companion only catching you last minute once your knees all of the sudden buckle in exhaustion because of the long journey your colony partook in just to get here—the apparent safest location for any human left in the country after the chemical fallout happened a few years back.
It took approximately 9 days to arrive in the mountains. Before even deciding to venture out on the surface to travel here, you’ve been very against the idea of doing it since you reckoned that being underground (which was the place you’ve been in ever since the world ultimately was washed out) was the better choice. However, your colony leader and good friend Seungcheol didn’t think the same way you did. Plus, he still insists—and teases you, for that matter—that the only reason you’re so against transferring to colony 0613 was because you know you’ll finally get the chance of meeting the man you didn’t actually think you’ll live to meet.
Min Yoongi.
You don’t remember the exact date since you and him started bickering endlessly via radio. However, you do remember how it all started.
It happened when one of your colony members finally knew how to get the radio working. Chaerin, the girl who got it functioning again, asked for your help to assist her in seeking out other colonies close by, your job being the one who writes down the frequency for each colony you encounter so that you can keep track of every single one. And it just so happens that in one of those days, you and her managed to find colony 0613, the ones in the mountains who were also keen in sharing what they knew of the creatures that roamed around the surface.
Usually, it was Kim Namjoon who you spoke to on a rather frequent basis, sharing information and sometimes having conversations way past that, talking about your lives before the meteor almost hit and what you two could be doing now if that wasn’t the case. You daresay that you and Namjoon became friends over the course of those months just chatting, and to be honest, you were developing a little crush on him because of how eloquent and well-versed he always seemed whenever he spoke. You began looking forward to those radio sessions, smiling too wide as you exchanged words, and then one day, Yoongi entered the picture.
Well, more like, replaced Namjoon in being the one who’s at the other end of the radio.
“Namjoon’s sick,” he said, “nothing to be concerned over though. Just the usual fever.”
“Oh. When will he come back?”
“Back?” You can still get a clear hear of his laughter that day. “It seems like you’re getting too used with him to ask that. Hate to break it to you, but I’ll be the one who’ll be on duty from now on.”
His voice was low, husky, and you’d even described it as somewhat... smoky. You found yourself low key getting intrigued by him just by the sound of his voice, but because of his rather amused tone and this cocky vibe you were getting from his aura over the radio, you were able to push that attraction for him away and instead quip up a reply that you deemed would not make you look like the simp you truly are for Namjoon.
After that, updating and sharing matters between your colony and his became such a drag. Deep conversations and fun discussions that you used to look forward to immediately became banter and teasing and plain annoyance in your part (while you think that for Yoongi, he was enjoying the pissed off reactions that he was getting from you judging from his snickers and his sometimes intensified smugness).
In some way however, you do admit that radio sessions with Yoongi became more entertaining than you thought it would as more weeks pass by, that you eventually grew accustomed to it and started to not be too annoyed at the recurring event.
Like you said though, you didn’t actually think that you were going to have the chance to meet him in person. You aren’t exactly ready yet to throw childish comments with him back and forth live in action, actually be ready to let him see your face too while speaking to him and grimacing or scowling right then and there in front of him.
The idea was a little bit compelling however, you can’t lie. And you can’t say too that not even once have you ever thought what Yoongi looked like in reality—because to be frank, deep down inside you, you wanted to see the features of the guy who owned that unnecessarily throaty and sexy voice.
“Rise and shine, princess.”
You open your eyes wider, seeing Seungcheol beside the bed you’re laying on, playing that Rubik’s cube he still has no success in solving, situated on a wooden chair comfortably.
“This isn’t some fucked up version of heaven, right?” you ask as you slowly take in your surroundings, noticing the interior that definitely looked different from the underground base you’ve been living in along with your colony.
“Nope,” he continues to move his fingers slowly on the square object, “and besides, if you’re dead, you do know that hell is the place you’re going to end up in, don’t you?”
“Shut up.”
Seungcheol chuckles. “How are you feeling?”
“Like shit.”
“But still okay? No problems breathing or nothing hurting somewhere?”
“None.”
“Good.” He drops the cube on his lap and looks at you for the first time since you’ve regained consciousness. “You’ve been passed out for hours. I know it’s probably because of the long journey, so you should rest more if you’re not feeling it.”
“Thanks.”
“By the way, I already met Yoongi.”
You snap your eyes at him, the look on his face already teasing that you’re already preparing yourself for the worst.
“Really cool dude. Helped us in arranging our stuff to the rooms we’ll be staying in for the meanwhile since the other cabin hasn’t been completely built yet.”
“Oh, good to know.”
“You should probably meet him too—”
“No!” You grab his wrist as he stands up, and just as you predicted, Seungcheol’s already laughing at your expense. “That’s not… not needed. I’m gonna fall back to sleep anyways, so…”
His attention focuses on you before it flickers over your head, to the entrance of this improvised infirmary where the curtain separating it from the hall just opened. “Well, it's too late to go back to sleep now.”
You know you should have not followed his gaze, but curiosity was eating you up and when you gave into temptation even though you’re aware you’ll be falling into your own death, you see a man standing there with a plate of sandwiches and a glass of what seemed like orange juice on a tray.
His black hair falls scattered on his forehead, he’s wearing a black shirt that well-defined his chest and biceps, a view that made you think whether he wore that shirt on purpose today because he knew you were supposed to arrive with your colony or he really was naturally ripped. His skin was smooth, kinda pale, but not in a way that looked sick—he had a glow that gave you the impression that he was living a comfortable life and not what every person on earth is really suffering from instead.
But what caught your attention overall was his eyes. His intimidating yet drowsy looking eyes, shaped in a structure that made it similar to a cat’s.
“I guess, this is my cue to leave.” Seungcheol pats the hand you’re still using to hold him and it falls back on your lap, your head turning to the other direction while Yoongi walks forward.
You hear the curtains close again.
“You made it.”
You glance at Yoongi, compelled to look at him because of his familiar voice. “And it’s really you, huh? The annoying one?”
“I’d say the same thing to you.” He chuckles and places the tray on the small table beside you. “Though I do admit, you don’t look what I was expecting.”
“Likewise.”
“Told you I look handsome in person.”
Your mouth twitches. “Yeah, about that, I’m not entirely convinced yet.”
The both of you share a laugh and you’re surprised at the comforting atmosphere you’re experiencing right despite being positive that meeting Yoongi in person would probably be the second worst thing to happen to you after that meteor strike. Yet you’re here, and he’s here, and he’s being unexpectedly nice as he suddenly gets the plate and puts it closer to you so that you can reach a piece.
“You should eat. Regain some strength and all.”
You peer at him weirdly though do what he says, grabbing a sandwich. “You’re not attempting to poison me, aren’t you?”
He scoffs. “If killing you was my goal, I think a slice across here—” he makes a gesture across his neck— “would be my plan.”
“Ha. I don’t think you’d succeed though. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but I’m pretty good with a sword.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yup. Once I’m back on my feet, I’ll make sure to whip your ass and prove it to you.”
“Is that a challenge?”
“It is.”
“It’s a deal then.” He smirks. “Just a warning though, I won’t go easy on you.”
“I wouldn’t want you to.”
“Let’s see about that.”
You raise your eyebrows, smiling as you chew. “I’m not easy.”
“I’m not saying you are.”
“Just making sure.”
“I think it’ll be fun to make you beg in the end.”
“Fat chance. Maybe you’ll be the one on your knees for me instead.”
Yoongi pokes the inside of his cheek with his tongue, staring at you longer than expected with an amused smirk before he leans towards your direction, a hand supporting half of his body in front of you while you, on the other hand, maintain your position, not backing down from his stare.
“That doesn’t sound exactly like a bad idea, to be honest.”
You let out a breath, both in shock and in disbelief, grinning now and putting down the sandwich. “If I didn’t know better, I would say you’re flirting with me, Min Yoongi.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. I’d wait until it was the end of the world before I do that,” he says, a grin forming itself on his mouth in return.
The two of you gaze at each other further, ridiculous smiles plastered on your lips at the foolishness of his words.
Because as it was no secret anymore—the end of the world already did apparently happen before.

The next morning you were in Seokjin’s office before his ass had barely grazed the leather of his high-backed office chair.
“CEO Min said you approved me starting a new project for the Taipei location,” you hurled at him, bending forward and placing your hands atop his desk. “You and I never talked about this or how it would affect my current workload.”
Seokjin had first looked up at your approach into his office with nothing more than curiosity. Understanding now dawned in the chestnut of his eyes. He lifted the clear, plastic cup in his hand, chunks of ice bobbing inside his Americano.
“Y/N, can I at least finish my coffee before you put your entire foot down my throat?”

Taehyung is staring at Seokjin in both amazement and in confusion, scrutinizing the older guy like Seokjin was surely, no doubt, saying bluff that YN agreed to go on a date with him just to finally get out of this tight spot he placed him on.
“You had a date with YN last weekend?” he repeats and Seokjin nods.
“Yeah. I picked her up after her shift.”
“At Scoops Ahoy?”
“Where else?”
Taehyung laughs. “Stop joking around with me, Hyung.”
“I’m serious. You put me to this job and now, you don’t believe me—”
“Well, you can just be saying this to get out of it, you know?”
“Then call Mira or whatever, ask her about it.”
Taehyung pokes the inside of his cheek with his tongue, still staring at Seokjin unsurely before getting his phone from his pocket and indeed calling Mira to subtly ask her about it.
While the both of them wait for her to answer, Seokjin’s mind flashes back to the conversation he and YN had the other day when he met her after one of her classes, cheesily bringing her a sandwich and a juice pouch since he was aware that her vacant period that time was meant for a snack break. He doesn’t exactly know what brought him to do just that, but he felt like he still needed some sucking up to do to make her trust him more.
YN looked at him weirdly the moment he stretched his arm forward to give it to her, muttering a short and amused thanks before peeking in the paper bag.
“You didn’t have to do this,” she said, raising her eyebrows at him. “It’s not like… we’re legit.”
He laughed. “Yeah, but consider that as compensation for any future damages.”
“Are you still insisting I might fall for you for real?”
“It’s not entirely impossible.”
“Then how about you?”
“What about me?”
“What if you fall for me for real too?”
“Hyungnim!”
Seokjin blinks and focuses his attention on Taehyung who already had his phone against his ear, seemingly talking to Mira already and demanding that Seokjin listens to every word he’s going to say during this conversation he’s currently having with the girl.
“Yeah, so,” Taehyung starts, “YN mentioned anything unusual to you lately?”
Seokjin rolls his eyes at the obvious inquiry but Taehyung ignores him, instead looking really focused and interested, as if he’s afraid he’d miss a word if he didn’t perch his butt on the edge of his seat enough, or bite his thumb anxiously while waiting for a reply, hoping that his hyung wasn’t shitting him.
“Nothing yet?” he repeats out loud then. “But does she look like she’s seeing someone new?”
Seokjin literally places a palm against his forehead, wanting to say that of course, YN and him are not going to be out there announcing the whole thing to everyone. Being too obvious about it was surely one way to make it obvious too that it was all fake.
But okay, maybe he was the one who insisted that Taehyung calls Mira for assurance, which he’s kinda regretting now as he doesn’t think YN was dumb enough to tell Mira that she’s ‘seeing’ him when she just literally dumped Jimin two weeks ago, and dating someone that quick was ‘unlike her’, as she put it the last time they talked about their gameplan.
Gameplan. The word made Seokjin always want to laugh.
“Okay, okay, I get it,” Taehyung says, “yeah, I’ll ask him—wait, we’re still on this Saturday, right? Because you know I’m always willing to take you anywhere you like and—” he notices the impatient look on Seokjin, and so smiles— “yeah, you know what, let’s talk about that later, babe, kinda have an important thing right now so…” He nods unconsciously and then hangs up.
“You know,” Seokjin crosses his arms on the table, “you two are practically dating with or without YN dating someone too.”
“No, we’re not?” Taehyung keeps his phone in his pocket. “We’re still just friends.”
“Oh, yeah, because you call everyone ‘babe’, don’t you?”
“Well, you lied about dating YN too.”
Seokjin furrows his eyebrows at the change of topic, though goes with it nonetheless. “No, I didn’t?”
“Mira said she didn’t hear anything from YN so far.”
“Code word, so far. Can you just be patient?”
“Of course, I can. You just can’t keep on giving me false hope though.”
“I’m not giving you false hope, Tae. You’re just dramatic.”
“Says the theatre member, yeah, sure.”
“Just date Mira without inconveniencing me and YN.”
Taehyung presses his lips together, pretending to be thinking hard, and Seokjin doesn’t know why he keeps on hoping that Taehyung really would change his mind despite the guy’s obvious persistence.
“Yeah, uh, I don’t think so,” he says and Seokjin rolls his eyes.
“Fine, then stop demanding me to work quicker. Jeez.”
“You can’t blame me! The quicker things get done, the quicker—”
“—you get in Mira’s pants, yeah, I already got the memo.”
“Come on, Hyung, I told you it’s not like that.”
Seokjin stands up from the bench and picks up his bag, his phone alarming with a buzz. “No judgment, Tae. You do you. I’ll get going now. See you later.”
“Wait, where are you going?”
“And why should I tell you?” He laughs and runs to the direction where YN was taking her last class of the day.
Like what he did the other day, and the day after that, and day after of the day after that, he’s made it his job to walk with YN to the bus station if he had the free time to do so. Currently with the theatre club, all he had to do was discuss the plans for the audition taking place next week for new members and for the first play of the school year as well. They’re aiming to hold the show before the semester break, and being the vice president of the organization, of course he’d be active in overseeing everything they’re planning to do. So far, nothing’s too stressful for him to handle—he even reckons that this thing going on with YN might be more stressful than the former.
As he approaches the building, he almost immediately sees YN there by the bike parking slots provided, crouched down looking at her pedals before she brings her hands in her hair and seems to be on the verge of pulling every strand out in frustration. Seokjin chuckles to himself and goes faster in walking, soon standing beside her and copying her position.
“What’s the problem?”
She quickly raises her head at the sound of his voice and looks at him. “Oh, you’re here. Just in time. Do you perhaps know how to fix a broken chain?”
“What?”
YN points at the chainrings of her bicycle and Seokjin sees that the chain supposedly attached to it is loose. “It broke halfway when I was pedalling to class. I thought I could put it back like I always do but I forgot to bring the… the thing, the screwdriver or whatever I use to fix this, so I’m pissed.”
“And do you expect me to have one in my bag lying around?”
“I don’t know, do you?”
“Of course, I don’t, dummy.”
“It was a yes or no question, no need to call me dummy, dummy.” She reckons playfully before standing up and sighing.
He smiles at the comment and follows her actions. “I can help you carry this inside the bus though. Come to think of it, I’m grateful this is broken or else me coming would be a waste. I’m not exactly fond of the idea of running beside you again while you leisurely ride your bike.”
YN laughs at that. “Well, no one told you to keep seeing me after classes, Jin. I don’t remember agreeing to have a chauffeur too.”
“It’s not a big deal. Besides, this is my way of gaining your trust.”
“You don’t need to gain my trust.”
“I know, but I kind of want to really. I want you to trust me.”
She snaps her eyes on him, scrunching her brows as she just stares at his face in a judging manner. Seokjin returns the look with a questioning one, confused on why she was indeed looking at him like that.
“What?”
“Oh, no, we’re not doing this. We’re so not going to be pulling cheesy lines to each other, please.”
“Was that cheesy?” Seokjin exclaims with a laugh.
Her mouth twitches in a slight smile. “Yeah, it feels like it came from a cheesy movie—oh my god. Is this why you’re single?”
“Hey—”
“I’m kidding,” she snickers and begins reaching for her key to unlock the bike lock she had, deciding that it was time to give up on getting the chain to its proper place, “I don’t think that’s the reason why you’re single.”
Seokjin blinks multiple times in disbelief, waiting for her to finish what she’s doing, YN then guiding her bike out of the parking slot.
“That’s insulting,” he finally says as he grabs the other handlebar on the other side. “Especially coming from you who I know hasn’t dated anyone since she was born.”
She glances at him again. “Now, that’s insulting too.”
“Sorry, was that below the belt?”
“No, no don’t worry. You’re just laying facts.” She snorts.
There’s a short silence with the both of them not saying anything until Seokjin turns to her once more. He’s sheepish and he doesn’t think he’s allowed to ask this kind of inquiry yet, but if he was going to spend the next few days being with YN on whatever event they’d like to do for the sake of seeming like they’re in a relationship, he needs to move past being shy and be direct with her.
“Why is that then? Why are you still single?” he asks.
“I don’t know,” she shrugs, “it’s just that no one liked me like that before. I mean, there were some, but it just never got to the point of them wanting to be in a relationship with me.”
“That’s hard to believe.”
“Hard to believe that I’m apparently not attractive enough?”
“Yeah. You seem pretty great.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence. Appreciate it.”
“I take that back. You’re actually really mean sometimes.”
The two of them share a laugh, and after five seconds, it’s YN turn to look at him in curiosity. “How about you? You’re a senior. Aren’t you supposed to have a long term girlfriend that you’re planning to marry after you graduate by now?”
“You’re killing me with the stereotypes.” He groans. “But alright, to answer your question, I did have a girlfriend. We began dating in high school… and then it didn’t work out, so we broke up eventually when I was a sophomore.”
“How come?”
“My ex… she’s very adventurous. Not in a sexual way particularly, if that’s what you’re thinking—”
“It wasn’t.”
He gives her a look when she sniggers. “—but in a way that she doesn’t want to be held down just yet. She just doesn’t want to have a boyfriend already before meeting more people in college. You get what I mean?”
YN dares to stare at him the moment he’s back gazing straight ahead and she sees this nostalgic and sad expression on his face that she hasn’t been able to catch before until now. She thinks he must really have liked this girl to physically look devastated, to appear vulnerable for once and not the usual goofy and a little smothering Seokjin he’s been constantly showing her. It makes her realize that she doesn’t even know him enough for them to spend time like this and to have the guts of creating a show for their friends that they’re apparently dating. Though it’s not like there’s a requirement for them to be best buds before doing so.
“Yeah, I get what you mean,” she replies. “I’m assuming you’re the opposite then?”
“Kind of. I just don’t get the point of dating different people all your life and then settling down once you think you’ve had enough. It’s a waste of time, love, and heartache, to be frank.”
“Same thought, actually. Maybe that’s why I’m not totally bummed out yet that I haven’t been in a relationship since never.”
“But you have liked guys before, right?”
“Of course, I have, I’m not a robot.”
“And wait, was that guy we saw in the mall one of them?”
YN scrunches her nose at the memory of Hyungsik and her grip tightens a little on the handlebar. “Yup. He was one of them.”
She’s expecting a pitiful stare or an ‘aw, I’m sorry’ from Seokjin upon her confirmation, ready to act unfazed like she usually does whenever the topic rises and to some extent, she’d have to provide a little backstory, while the person she’s sharing the information to feels sorry that she was rejected by a guy she liked in the past. She can’t blame them. After all, it’s human nature to act that way when you hear a story like that.
However, Seokjin, as it turns out, didn’t rely on actions inclined to human nature. At least, not in the way that she was used to.
“You could have done so much better,” he tells her instead. “He doesn’t look any special.”
She unintentionally gives him a glare. “Hey, Hyungsik’s nice.”
“Oh, I bet he is.”
“Stop that,” she frowns, “he really was nice. I was the problem. I couldn’t keep on being friends with someone I had feelings for so I practically ghosted him. Live in action ghosting, that is, since it was just me always avoiding him.”
He stops walking and she’s forced to stop as well, tilting her head towards him in wonder.
“Cut yourself some slack. You were hurt. It was a normal response.”
Her frown from earlier deepens. “it was petty of me.”
“No, I think it was reasonable.”
They just hold each other’s gazes for a while before YN’s the first one to break, rolling her eyes and pushing the bike forward to continue walking. “Thanks, I guess.”
No one has the energy to make conversation again after that. They were close to the bus stop anyway, and Seokjin noticed the multiple times YN yawned and rubbed her eyes on the way, obviously tired from the long day at the university. Funny thing was, she insisted on holding onto her bike inside the bus even if he already told her it was fine if he did it. The thing was not light for the record, and YN knew that, that’s why she kept on sending him a dirty look but he was untouchable and adamant, resulting in her pathetically holding onto a small part of the bike while sitting down as he remained standing to secure it, a way of telling him that she hasn’t fully given up in insisting that she doesn’t still approve of him doing the work for her.
Even when they arrived at the right stop, Seokjin still insisted on walking her all the way to the dorm, which at that point, YN was too tired to argue and say it wasn’t needed. She was starting to see how useful his presence was to be fair, but it still didn’t mean she was okay with him going all the way and seeing her off to the place she stayed. In fact, the first time she saw Seokjin waiting for her after one of her classes outside the classroom last week, she had this weird unpleasant feeling stir inside her, though she didn’t care enough to dwell in it and make a fuss that would make the situation possibly worse.
But if she wasn’t going to confront it anytime soon, she’s afraid she’ll face a bigger dilemma after.
“This is it,” she says, gesturing to the entrance of the building once Seokjin helped her lock the bike in place outside.
He nods, glancing around the area. “Get going then. I’ll leave once you’re in.”
“You do know that all of this is completely unnecessary, don’t you? Like waiting for me and then now walking me home… it’s really not needed. You don’t have to go an extra mile to prove a point.”
“I’m not proving a point.”
“Oh, are you not doing this to get people talking? Let them see that you’re constantly with me and there’s something going on between us?” She sarcastically claims.
“Well, that’s sort of part of the plan too.” He admits with a chuckle. “But I feel like I should do the decency of actually getting to know you, YN, like at least be your friend. Be a nice senior and all.”
“What did we say about cheesy statements?”
“I mean it.”
“In that case, it’s kinda late to act nice when you’ve already harassed me enough to be your fake girlfriend,” she states in amusement.
He rolls his eyes. “Can’t you just let me be nice and do this?”
“Nope.”
“No? Why not? Do you hate me that much?”
“It’s not that I hate you, Seokjin. Don’t take things personally” She snickers. “It’s just that I don’t want to get used to it. I don’t want this to become a routine I’ll unconsciously keep in mind in the future.” Her tone is light and so is her expression, but the back of Seokjin’s mind tells him that he should know better than to believe what she was trying to show him. He’s no expert in psychology or whatever, however, he likes to think that he is still good at reading people from time to time.
He places his hands in his pockets. “If that’s what you want.”
YN raises her brows. “Really? You’re just giving up just like that?”
“Can you not always treat me like a bad guy?”
“Sorry, it’s really fun to do. You look offended each time.” She grins at him, her grin not overjoyed or amused like what it usually appears whenever she’s teasing him. This time, it looks more on the sincere side, and Seokjin finds himself just looking at her features, going over the shape of her eyes and the tip of her nose, to the way she abruptly fixes her hair and tucks a strand behind her ear. He feels like he’s seeing YN for the first time.
“I should get going.”
She crosses her arms, a hugging gesture, nodding. “Get home safe.”
“Will do.”
“Bye.” She starts walking to the doors.
He nods as well, walking backwards towards the direction of the bus stop from earlier. “Bye. See you when I see you then.”
“No after classes visits anymore, okay?”
“Can I visit if I give you a heads up?
“I knew it was too good to be true to have you agreeing immediately.”
“Can I?”
She pauses, a hand already pressed against the door as she flickers her gaze to him. Seokjin waits there with raised eyebrows, patient and doing the best he can to go over her features once more quickly, trying to decipher what response she was going to tell him, and after what seemed like a good six seconds or more—it’s not like he was keeping count—she flashes him that unfamiliar smile again and he automatically feels relieved even without a definite answer yet.
“Yeah... sure thing.”
He breathes out. “Thanks.”
“I don’t know why you’re saying thanks but you’re welcome,” she quips, chuckling quietly and finally going in.
Seokjin fondly watches her enter the elevators inside and the moment she’s out of his sight, that’s when he decides to suddenly wave his hand goodbye and walk away.

—summary: Since it’s the first time celebrating Valentine’s Day with you as his wife, Taehyung goes the extra mile of preparing something special for you. After all, he has managed to run a billion-dollar worth company. So, preparing handmade delicacies should be simple enough, right?

Valentine’s Day. The day where people spend time with their loved ones, either going out to celebrate or spending quality time together at home. Just anything to bring a smile to their loved ones’ faces.
Taehyung used to question this annual occasion—a lot. What is truly the purpose of this day? Don’t you have to make your loved ones happy all the time? What difference does it make to celebrate it on this “special” day and on a typical day? Or, in other words, it was a complete waste of time and energy—is what he used to say.
For many years, Taehyung’s only companions on this day are paperwork, meetings, and… more paperwork. So, it’s not surprising how disinterested he is at the thought of celebrating Valentine’s Day.
But today, he barely can stifle his smile and contain his excitement throughout the morning conference. The minute when the meeting ends, he strides out of the room and heads straight back home.
Summary: Your boyfriend Hoseok is terrified of everything that has to do with the supernatural (ghosts, demons, the usual), but you think it’s all make-believe, so you decide to go ghost hunting. Hoseok is not very excited, but he would not forgive himself if anything happened to you.

You’d loved Jeon Jeongguk for as long as you could remember. Granted that it was an overused and cliche term, but for you, it rang true.
One of your first memories had been of you crying in the classroom during recess at age 4, all because you couldn’t find your lucky stuffed bunny. Jeongguk had come back to use the restroom and discovered a tiny girl squeezing herself into the smallest corner of the room, hugging her knees to her chest as tears streamed down her face.
Jeongguk, mildly alarmed, but ever the empathetic child, had toddled over to you, occasionally almost falling over his two feet, and placed a small, sweaty hand on your head. You’d looked up in shock, having thought the classroom was empty, accidentally knocking Jeongguk off balance when you moved your head suddenly. He’d fallen onto you, both of you letting out tiny “oomphs” of surprise as your little bodies collided into one another. This didn’t help your already fragile emotional state, causing you to cry harder.
Jeongguk had scrambled to his knees, apologising profusely, lisping all the while. When you continued to cry, declaring that today was the worst day ever, he gathered you into his arms, holding you until your tears stopped. You returned the hug then, clutching him tightly to your tiny body, in a silent gesture of appreciation.
He had asked you what was wrong then, as you two embraced in the corner of the deserted classroom. Tearfully, you told him the story of BunBun, your favourite stuffed toy, and how it had been with you since before you were born, but had disappeared that day before recess. Furrowing his eyebrows, Jeongguk pulled you to your feet and the two of you waddled around the classroom, two pairs of eyes searching every last centimetre of the spacious room.
When your search once again yielded no results, your lower lip began to tremble once more, a lump in your throat making it increasingly hard to breathe. Jeongguk, catching sight of your watery eyes as he turned to apologise for not being able to find your toy, widened his eyes in a panic, mind racing to find a way to calm down his new friend.
Jeongguk clasped your hands between his own, eyes shining as he gave you a sweet smile. “I can be your bunny!”

“Y/N? Are you listening to me?”
You blink. “Huh?”
Jungkook lets out a sigh for the fifth time at the same hour. “You’re not even listening. So, why do you even ask me to tutor you?”
You honestly have no idea what makes Jungkook so passionate about all these numbers and letters. But just watching him explain it is so captivating that you find yourself unable to focus on his words.
Straightening yourself on your seat, you clear your throat. “My grades are failing and… Well, I asked our lecturer and he recommended you.”
The man in front of you rubs his temple in annoyance.

➴ Summary: Seokjin’s ears have always been red as long as you can remember, but at this point, it might as well be a birthmark or something. You’ve never seen him without red ears. Upset that your crush won’t respond to you, you decide to resort to an age-old tactic and flirt with another guy in front of him, but maybe you’ve bitten off more than you can chew…

“Look at hyung, he’s a tomato again,” Jungkook teases, eyes crinkling at the corner. “It always happens when Y/N is around, doesn’t it?”
You tilt your head to the side at his question, not understanding. “What do you mean?” you ask, blinking rapidly.
The boys around you collapse into a heap, laughing as Seokjin stares moodily into his cocktail, tips of his ears redder than ever. You get the sense that maybe he’s upset, but you’re not sure why.
Although you and Kim Seokjin have been friends since you were both still in diapers, this was the one thing he refused to talk to you about, and it was starting to get on your nerves. You told him about anything and everything, including who your current crush was, who’d taken your first kiss, the way your dad had flipped out when your last fling had accidentally stayed the night and he’d walked in on the two of you spooning in bed…the list was endless.
Actually, now that you think about it, Seokjin never really had anything to say after you told him of your latest escapades, good mood often turning sour. You make a mental note not to do it again, wanting to preserve your best friend’s sanity. With a sympathetic pat on his back - and a gentle kiss on the cheek that causes Seokjin to choke on his drink -, you leave the rowdy group of boys you’d come to refer to as your brothers and you get up off your lounge chair, wanting to frolic in the ocean.
Seokjin watches you stride down to the water, hips swaying with every step you take. You weren’t the most graceful girl, but nobody could deny that you were always the centre of attention when in a room.
“You can stop covering your dick now; another guy just asked for her number,” Yoongi states drily, keeping a watchful eye on you. Seokjin turns to the man three months younger than him, eyes widened in disbelief.

Namjoon’s new job sucks.
Sure, his new job as an event trainer for his company somehow manages to pay thousands more than the beyond thousands he already made. Sure, it actually involves less work as he has moved from the shmoozer to the shmoozee. Sure, his job lets him travel all over the country to give presentations.
But that last one means it takes Namjoon away from Jin longer. Weeks at a time when Jin had become accustomed to late night visits or lunch break pick-me-ups. Seeing his dazzling smile that moves from deadly to heartbreakingly shy with a moments notice.
