āAnd without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek himā (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)
When God is first place in your life, and you make pleasing Him your highest priority, then you can fully expect to live a blessed, fulfilled life! In todayās verse, notice who God rewards. Itās not people who half-heartedly seek Him. It doesnāt say āpeople who only think about Him when theyāre having a problem;ā or āpeople who will only come to church when something special is going on.ā No, God rewards people who earnestly seek after Him. That means we are determined. We get up every morning and thank Him for His goodness. We go through the day meditating on His promises. We give Him praise in the good times and the tough times. We are constantly stretching, growing, learning and striving to know Him better.
Today, remember, when you diligently seek God, He promises that a reward is coming. He promises He wil give you strength, wisdom, favor, good breaks, promotion, healing and restoration. When you seek Him with your whole heart, you will find Him, and you wonāt be able to outrun His goodness and blessing!
āMany are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them allā (Psalm 34:19, NKJV)
Isnāt it good to know that we serve a Deliver? You might feel afflicted today, but God is working to bring you out of that difficult situation. It may not be in the way you thought, but you have to trust that God has your best interest at heart.
An affliction is defined as the cause of persistent pain or distress. I know that afflictions can take on many forms ā a sickness or hardship, a temptation, a coworker or family member. There are so many things that can come against us, but God promises in His Word that no weapon formed against us shall prosper! Those afflictions are only temporary. Stand in faith believing that God is on your side, and you and God are a majority! It doesnāt matter what your circumstances look like, get up every morning and say, āThis is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. My Deliverer is coming!ā
As you stand and trust the Lord, He will deliver you out of all your afflictions, and youāll see His hand of blessing in every area of your life!
āā¦he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesusā (Philippians 1:6, NIV) Sometimes when God is doing a work in our lives, it can begin to feel a little uncomfortable. We may encounter people who are hard to get along with or have circumstances that seem beyond our control. When this happens, instead of complaining, getting sour or trying to change everything around you, why donāt you look deep inside and say, āLord, thank You for doing a work in me.ā See, Iāve learned that God is more interested in changing me than He is in changing my circumstances. If I choose to stay sour because Iām not getting my way or discouraged because things arenāt happening on my time table, thatās going to keep me right where I am.
If you want to see change, if you want to see God open up new doors, the key is to bloom right where youāre planted. You canāt wait until everything gets better before you decide to have a good attitude. You have to be the best that you can be right where you are. When you bloom where youāre planted, youāre allowing God to work in you, and He will be faithful to complete what Heās started in you!
When you step out to do something good for God, the enemy will send challenges and distractions to knock you off course. He may try to send you running, but you have a promise that God is working behind the scenes for you. Youāll be amazed at what God will do in your life when you stand and face your challenges and hold on to the promises found in His Word.
YOUāRE a baby
IāM a baby
WE CAN BE BABIES TOGETHER
A manās heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9, NKJV.
Oftentimes, God will use our experiences in life as stepping stones to prepare us for what He has in store next. Scripture tells us that Heāll even take the things the enemy tries to bring against us and turn them around and use them for our good. He is always leading us on a journey of preparation.
Thatās why itās so important to keep our eyes focused on Him. We have to trust that when we are submitted to Himāeven if we donāt understandāHe is ordering our steps. If something is not happening on your timetable, remind yourself, āGod knows what He is doing. He has my best interest at heart. God is preparing me.ā While youāre waiting, donāt make the mistake of trying to figure everything out. If youāre constantly trying to figure things out, that will only frustrate you. Turn it over to God. Declare, āGod, my times are in Your hands. Iām not going to worry because I trust that You are leading me on a journey of preparation for all the wonderful blessings You have in store for me.ā
