Tyler Galpin is not the villain in this series and I don't think enough people understand that yet. Tyler is not a monster; He is a child. A child who was neglected as long as he could remember. A child who's mum was there one day and gone the next. A child who's father was so crushed by the loss of his wife he turned to alcohol to cope and emotionally abandoned his only son and left him to raise himself. A child who felt he never truly fit in anywhere. A child who was groomed and abused by a fully grown woman who's only intention was to exploit him for her own benefit. A child who was drugged, restrained, brainwashed and stripped of his own autonomy whilst being forced to participate in the brutal murders of other people. A child who was punished because of the actions of others and electrocuted daily with the intention of using him as a test subject for their warped science experiment. A child who spent his life believing his mother was dead, only to have her return without warning. A child who was so happy to have his mother back only for her to become his master and physically assault him when he tried to speak against her. A child who had to witness his mother give all the love and comfort he craved from her, to an uncle he never even knew existed. A child who's father was brutally murdered. A child who had to watch the only girl he'd ever loved be buried alive in front of him whilst unable to do anything about it. A child who had to watch the mother he'd longed for for so long, die in front of him because of his actions. A child who had to mourn his mother for a second time after only just getting her back. A child who's entire family was wiped from existence within the space of one season. A child who is in constant internal conflict with himself because no one has ever taken the time to teach him about who he is. A child who begged for death and doesn't know how to live after he was saved. A child who has been abandoned by everyone and everything he ever loved and knew. A child who now has nothing left. So no. Tyler Galpin is not the villain. And is someone I will defend until the day I die. His hyde is not a monster, it is an extension of himself that has become a product of it's environment, and I'm excited to see what happens next now Tyler is in control of himself.
