My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.

My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2

My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits. 

Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.

This could SAVE a life.

Intro:

So this is the first time I've had to make my own lunch since my entire family decided to merry ditch me for the Philippines while I'm trying to get my career on foot.

I went grocery shopping for the first time, and since my dad was so gracious to keep the keys to the family car, I was limited to what I can carry. 

Anyway:

I brought salad for lunch with oregano and feta dressing, and celery and dip for munchies. (There's just something about the nature of an office job, where munchies gets one through the day. No matter how much you like what you're doing).

As an avid carnivore and carbo-whore while my parents were around, I brought nothing but fibre on an 8+ hr Monday. The longest last hours I could ever have so far decided to happen.

...My stomach totally loved me...

Oh well at least all the fat in there felt appreciated.

i'm going to be a gown up in less than 12hrs

As a full-time assistant fashion designer for an international company.

I don't even know what to say. Everything is so surreal right now. I call the shots of my hours, I get to make decisions, I have to actually be responsible, not completely accountable, just responsible. It'll no longer be just a job that I go to with my standard scheduled time. It's going to be the job, the job I studied for and lugged my ass for four years for. Something that I could have only dreamed of, but never see coming.

Luck is the only feeling that passes through me now.

My fear is that things will hit me when when it's too late to appreciate them. I should savor every moment that passes. It's hard because it's so fast paced. It's easy to get lost in the due dates and the pressure. However, it is what it is. It'll be an enjoyable experience for sure. I'm stoked :)
