I’m convinced if ppl on this site knew how crappy gifs look before you color them properly, they would appreciate editors more

for context reasons, this is how a gif I used in a recent gifset looks like without any adjustments/coloring whatsoever:

I truly don’t think people realize how dingy and dark most movies and tv shows actually are so they can’t appreciate the work and skill it takes to make gifs look the way your brain “remembers” it looking.

Another before and after example:

This gif needed 6 different adjustment layers, not including the sharpening process, which is its own separate challenge. The blue window was also changed to green to keep the palette more consistent and to reduce the range of colors needed, because a wider range of colors generally results in worse gif quality since gifs only support a max of 256 (compared to the millions your monitor can display).

Olivia Benson x Sonny Carisi ~One More Day

A little Benisi drabble for @hennwilson and anyone else Words: 366

Liv felt herself losing the battle against sleep. Light was shining through the blinds giving the room just enough light to be annoying. The weight of the arm around her waist gave her butterflies. She wanted nothing more than to snuggle into Sonny and just stay there for the whole day. She felt Sonny stir next to her, a groan escaping his body as he too began to wake up.

“Sonny we-“

“Don’t say it” Sonny said pulling Liv into his arm, burying his head into her neck “5 more minutes”

“You are as bad as Noah” Liv ran her fingers through his greying hair. Sonny placed a soft kiss on Liv’s shoulder, then her collar bone, then her neck, then her jaw. “Thought you wanted more sleep?” she teased

“You are better than sleep” Sonny grinned lifting himself up on his hands to be on top of Liv. As Sonny bent down to kiss her lips their alarm went off.

“Saved by the bell” Liv laughed pecking Sonny’s lips before pushing him down on the bed and getting up. Sonny whined like a child rolling until he was sitting on the edge of the bed. He continued to whine and making grabby hands at Liv. With a roll of her eyes, Liv walked back to him. As soon as she was within arm's length Sonny wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her onto his lap.

“One more day Handsome,” Liv said “One more day then it’s just us for two days” it had been so long that they’d been able to spend a weekend together and this weekend happened to be the first weekend that everyone in Sonny’s family was free to have a full Carisi family dinner, even Mia, Sonny’s niece, was in town so both Liv and Sonny were off the clock for a full weekend. Liv was definitely nervous about meeting all of Sonny’s family (she’d met his partners and Bella) but she knew that this was what Sonny needed. He needed a weekend off the clock and quality time spent with you, Noah and his family. Sonny sighed leaning his head into Liv’s chest.

“One more day” he mumbled.
