Louis doesn’t tell Lestat he loves him because he doesn’t want to feel vulnerable. And he may perceive vulnerability as weakness. It’s a dependency on another person’s love and what if he lost them. The scene where Louis’s brother Paul has to tell Lestat that Louis does love him is beautiful. It’s Paul who has to tell Lestat.
