❝Why do they always forget my bacon?❞
“Maybe they don’t like bacon. They could be bacon prejudiced and refuse to cook it. Or...” Barbara cast a quick glance around the other tables, and saw several students in other houses eating it. “Perhaps you’ve accidentally wronged one of the house elves and this is their revenge. No bacon for the rest of your time in Hogwarts.”
“North Wales. Prestatyn,” Owen replied. “Not that it’s really all that important, but it’s always the weird thing about going from London is that I have to go South to go North.” He paused and looked over at her. “Alright? You seem distracted.”
“Oh, I’d imagine that would be frustrating. They really should have a few stops along the way to pick students up who live closer to Hogwarts. Would give the rest of us a chance to stretch our legs, too. --- Though I suppose they just want to get to school as quickly as possible,” she mused. Truth be told, she WASN’T okay. She was as far from okay as she could imagine, but if she started thinking about it too much, she would panic, and that was something she didn’t have the energy to deal with right then. “Oh, yeah, just a headache,” technically not a lie, “it’ll pass soon enough. How was your summer?”
“Does anyone have any idea whereabouts we are? I just realised we’re probably closer to my house now than when we started.”
“Huh?” Barbara snapped out of her distracted daze, furrowing her brows. “I don’t, no, sorry. If I were to wager a guess, I’d say we’ve reached Scotland at least, but more than that I can’t say. Where do you live?”
