I'm going to be working on moving liana to a new blog under a new url, and I'm going to be more selective as a result. I know we can't all be everywhere at once but I've been feeling lately like I've been shouldering a lot of the effort to try and get plotting moving to no avail and it personally kills my motivation to be here. it's no one's fault, it's just me realizing what I need out of my experience. <3

liana developed her skill and craft as a bard under a somewhat reclusive elf living in her village by the name of taranoth dawnhorn. her lessons started when she was eleven and she threw herself into the craft by the time she was thirteen, following her parents' deaths. it initially became a means of distracting herself and delaying the inevitable in regard to coping with her grief, and grew into something that comforted her beyond what simple words could. composing music, sonnets, poetry and stories gave her a purpose nothing else could; channeling the weave through these means was an added bonus.
her specialty as a bard lies under the college of lore subclass. taranoth stressed that the most powerful thing one could possess was information, and by expanding one's knowledge and understanding of the world around them and the intricacies it held, they could navigate any problem with ease. while not as melee focused, she learned her foundational skills with a sword from taranoth to have the essentials in her toolbelt, with the understanding that her mind was her first line of defense, her magic her second, and her blades her third.
she prides herself on being a jack of all trades and a master of none; she has a strong working knowledge on a vast number of topics, from histories of different sects around faerun to religious practices and rites to the proper way to present oneself before a priest or priestess of a lesser-worshiped god on the cusp of a full moon. between her understanding of the world around her and the people in it, and her warm nature and natural charm, it's how she's managed to survive for so long traveling around faerun on her own.
