Jealous Ocean
My love was lost beneath the sea,
she took my love away from me.
No longer under earth’s bright sky,
beneath dark sea my love does lie.
No breath escapes his dampened lips,
no touch escapes his fingertips,
no grin upon his lovely face,
no life in this dark resting place.
Fish feed upon his bright blue eyes
as if they were delicious French fries;
a crab now lives inside his skull
as if it were a sunken hull;
a shark consumed his once smart brain
as if it were the best champagne.
I can’t believe my love is gone;
his ship set sail at golden dawn.
No sleep had I that fateful day,
his skin had turned so ashen gray,
no dreams for me of peace and joy,
all hope of such, she did destroy.
My love was lost beneath the sea,
she took my love away from me.
