Hypnovember Day #10: Foreigner
We're one third into this year's Hypnovember and it's a decent milestone that I want to take to talk about more of what I would call quintessential BaretKlap content. Sure, you might think of Emily Rudd gifs or Katie McGrath manips when you hear that. But if you had talked to me a relatively decent amount or just followed my gallery when I used to actively post, then you'd probably know that I really love Japanese women's wrestling. If you don't then I'm sorry I haven't infodumped on you yet.
Both Japanese women's wrestling fandom and hypnofetish community are relatively small spaces so logically, there is very, very little overlap. And since I was a content creator in hypnofetish community who was also in Japanese women's wrestling fandom, I figured that it was up to me to create the smut that I really wanted to see.
And from that: The Foreigner-verse was born. Named after its titular character (called The Foreigner because I didn't want to call him Gaijin), the stories in The Foreigner-verse are basically The Foreigner hypnotizing Japanese wrestling women that I really like. This premise and this verse made me produce 7 different stories (or 3 if you count the first 5 as parts of just one story, which is fair) and over 20K words of loredumping and hypnokinky goodness.
I wanted to take today's repost day to do a retrospective on this not only because those are the favourite stories I've ever written but because there are so much tidbits to talk about.
For example, I have never really decided on what The Foreigner's explicit hypno power was. All the stories has it depicted as 'hypnotic aura' or 'hypnotic presence' which is probably the most explicit explanation I have about how the hypnosis works in these stories. It's just there to make the typical Baret-story hypnodom be there while the POV sub characters inner monologue about falling into his effect and control.
Another funny thing is that these stories heavily reflect their time, in terms of their time's wrestling landscape. A lot of stuff I'd written there explaining the wrestling scene have aged badly partly because things tend to change and partly because I'm a hack. They're still funny to think about even though some of what ended up happening is kind of depressing to watch as someone who is a big fan of the people I wrote being hypnotized in these pieces.
Let's go one-by-one (the stories themselves are linked to their titles below):
The Foreignerverse #1: The Collection: The first saga of The Foreignerverse stars STARDOM's arguably most popular faction of its time: Donna Del Mondo. I was a massive DDM fan back in the day, loved every single member and watched their matches the most. In this 5-parter, The Foreigner goes through the 5 (at the time) members of Donna Del Mondo one-by-one, using their desires, insecurities and a lot of serial recruitment to complete the collection. I wrote and posted this in early 2021. Ever since then, Donna Del Mondo is no longer a thing. It's been more than 4 years and 4 years are a long-ass time in the world of Joshi.
All five parts of this were initially proofread by Maurislave and after they got taken down from my DeviantArt account, they got re-proofread by @gurumakakari to be posted in a different account.
The Foreignerverse #1.01: The Ambition: The five-parter stars with Maika, who is depicted as a solid underling here, someone who is not the leader and knows her position but wants to rise up the ranks and become the best. The Foreigner uses those shared ambitions to hook Maika in and by the end of the story, she is gladly his. In the later depictions, Maika becomes probably the closest to The Foreigner, I suppose he is the type of character to think that the firsts are always special.
This one didn't age as bad as the others, given Maika did end up rise up the card and even won the Red Belt (the world championship of STARDOM). She is still in STARDOM but unfortunately dealing with injuries. It's not a wrist injury as depicted in this story but an elbow injury is close enough?
The Foreignerverse #1.02: The Validation: Former UFC fighter Syuri Kondo is up next and she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Syuri is older than her contemporaries in DDM and she's also a bit of an outsider, who didn't grow in STARDOM's system but later made her way into the company with the rest of DDM. She thinks those factors are why she won't get the opportunities the others will. That outlook is contrasted with Maika, who is freshly off falling under Foreigner's influence. The love and happiness and the joy Maika radiates about the encounter is infectious, both figuratively and literally as The Foreigner 'has shared some of his aura with Maika'. That's a thing he can do because I wanted to write about one slave directly recruiting the other. And that happens. By the time Foreigner walks into the room, Syuri is already his.
After this story, Syuri made me absolutely ate my words about how she would never get those opportunities by becoming the first person in DDM to win the Red Belt. She was also the first person to leave DDM to create her own faction. She's still in STARDOM and still having awesome matches.
The Foreignerverse #1.03: The Interrogation: Here, we get to the setting which will encompass the next three parts: a weekend of shows run together by both The Foreigner's and DDM's wrestling companies. NJPW and STARDOM, both in real life and in this universe, are owned by the same company. In real world, NJPW & STARDOM collaborative shows wouldn't become a thing until 2022 while the story takes place in 2021, when they hadn't even announced the first collaborative show yet.
In this one, The Foreigner's faction plays a prank on him and he has to use his DDM connections to hitch a ride to the show. Himeka gives the deciding vote to let him in so that she could size him up and maybe intimidate him a bit. After all, being big is her thing and she's proud of her size. This obviously, does not go as planned as The Foreigner uses that confidence of hers to flatter her and get her guard down to add the third Donna Del Mondo member to his collection. The size thing, obviously, plays a big role in all of this.
Himeka, unfortunately, has retired 2 years after this story. She still pops up time-to-time but that's all she wrote for The Jumbo Princess.
The Foreignerverse #1.04: The Reputation: We go from the largest member of DDM to the smallest one in Natsupoi. And Natsupoi differs from her fellow DDM members in a lot of ways. She isn't striving to be the best wrestler, she's more of a social climber who would rather choose to be popular than good. She's not happy that she's booked to tag with that relatively unknown foreigner during the crossover show rather than someone else who would boost her popularity far more. She and Himeka get a visit from Poi's tag partner in their locker room. She tries to give her the cold shoulder but the influence of her best friend alongside Foreigner's powers give her no chance to fight back. Thankfully, Poi realizes how wonderful of a thing that is as he explains to her how being associated by him would make them all the more popular and everyone would get what they want under a life of being her Master's property.
This, I think, might be the best written out of the original 5-parter. Natsupoi's motivations and characteristics are the most distinct while Himeka's integration into Poi's part is slightly better than the Maika - Syuri one. Natsupoi being vastly different from her DDM peers, on the other hand, does come into play in real life as she betrayed DDM and switched factions, unlike Syuri whose exit was slightly more amicable.
The Foreignerverse #1.05: The Cooperation: At last, we end the 5-parter with DDM's fearless leader Giulia. The defining characteristic of Giulia is that she's a hard-worker, she's headstrong, she's extremely driven and she will continue to go without any rest if she can help. And she is really not happy about how the faction she had built is slowly getting chummier with that foreigner. But the crossover week is over and her friends really, really want her to relax. And she relents, opening the way for the rest of Donna Del Mondo to work their collective influences over their leader. The relationship Giulia has with each one of them are explored and by the end of it, she has succumbed to them completely, her mind open, her body relaxed, her thoughts re-written by the friends that completely belonged to the same Master she now also belonged to. The Foreigner would enter the room to see his complete collection. The Natsupoi chapter could've been the best but I went all in for the hotness factor in this one.
In real life, Giulia did continue to work hard. Just a month or so after this story, she lost a hair vs hair match to Tam Nakano, then she ended up winning 5 Star Grand Prix (biggest tournament in the company) and beating Syuri for the Red Belt before dropping that to Tam Nakano. There's a reason I really don't like Tam Nakano. She left STARDOM, joined Marigold (another joshi promotion that popped up after these stories) and then to no one's surprise, signed with WWE only to get her lunch ate by Stephanie Vaquer and nowadays Giulia is losing to Chelsea Green on SmackDown in 2 minutes.
The same year I wrote the DDM pentology, I had also written the next Foreignerverse chapter. 2021 was a productive year in many ways.
The Foreignerverse #2: The Challenge: Unlike #1 and #3, this one had subjects that fit to an idea rather than me trying to find an idea for someone I really wanted to include a story. This was 2021, I wasn't the biggest fan of Cosmic Angels, but they really fit the next step of the stories. It was also proofread by Maurislave.
The plot is simple: The Foreigner is challenged to a hypnotic battle by Mina Shirakawa of Cosmic Angels.
This one is the most explicitly sexual story and it had to be that explicit because the main idea was that I wanted to write an induction that took place a certain sexual act, of which Mina suited the most, on the account that she got the honkers. To get to that point and to raise the stakes for the final, I gave Mina a more raunchy background and appropriate hypnotic abilities so it could be a proper battle of two hypnodoms at the end.
Adding Tam Nakano and Unagi Sayaka, Mina's fellow Cosmic Angels members, to the mix and thinking where they fit the story and how their dynamics would be was also a ton of fun. I also added some bits to show how a fully enslaved Donna Del Mondo operate as The Foreigner's harem girls, if you would be into that. Another fun fact, I actually wrote this one on a writing software that I don't remember the name of. I don't think I've used it since lol.
Where are they now? All three members of Cosmic Angels are no longer in STARDOM. Tam got to win the Red Belt, made a bigger hater out of me due to how often she seemed to beat Giulia. She had a second run as the top champion and then lost an incredible title vs career match against Saya Kamitani, so, she's retired. Unagi Sayaka didn't become a STARDOM mainstay but she's still a fun one to watch as she freelances around Japan and produces her own wrestling shows. Mina Shirakawa herself has left Cosmic Angels, created Club Venus, got her teeth and jaw crushed, had a run with the White Belt and then went to USA to live out her best lesbian dreams with Timeless Timeless Timeless Toni Storm.
This story did the best numbers due to the obvious boob factor and it was also the most praised by the friends who actually took the time to read it, which is a tall task I'm aware given it's a 6-7K word story. I wouldn't argue much if anyone thought this was the best written but it's still not my favourite. Because what's better than a Joshi hypnostory mixed in with immense loredumping that clocks in at 6-7K?
A Joshi hypnostory mixed in with immense loredumping that clocks in at 9K words, of course.
The Foreignerverse #3: The Crusade (alt link): It took close to two years to finish the third chapter but what a ride that was. After one of the most brutal proofreads I have ever experienced by Dormiria, this story got released in March 2023. And it was subject driven rather than idea driven, as I really wanted to write about Utami Hayashishita. For a brief amount of time, she was my favourite, even moreso than Giulia herself. She had an amazing look, cool factor and was putting out insane matches as the top champion.
The premise is: Utami Hayashishita handcuffs herself to The Foreigner (who has progressed his actual career to a point where he's the leader of his own faction now and is in a position to receive an award) during Tokyo Sports Puroresu Awards, telling him that the only way he gets out is to enslave her fully and to command her. The Foreigner asks her what the hell and Utami proceeds to explain it all. Hypnokinky fantasies and big chunks of Joshi loredrops ensue.
The idea of making Utami an unhinged lovesick stalker in this one seems a bit subversive but I did get the idea from her uncanny Tam Nakano impressions and her entrances where she would give roses to some of the girls in the crowd. I took all those to its illogical extremes, which turned out to very fun to write.
This, despite being my favourite, might be the least accessible story in the entire TFV if you decided to just sit down and read one. There are chunks of loredumps for a reason because all that happened to her in real life (in wrestling) shapes her motives and her actions in this story. I wanted to use real life wrestling storylines to provide all that much to the main subject's character in a hypnokink story, which is not the best move for accessibility like I said, though I tried my best to explain what goes on on those loredump sections as well.
Also yes, the handcuff in the story is like that handcuff that Light and L wear in Death Note, with a long ass chain so that all the movement in the story can happen.
There is an ending 'twist' on this one, or two, depending on what you consider those. Without spoiling that much, I just wanted to play around with one of the most prominent tropes that I tend to use, which is that the dom must have perfect control and everything is according to the plan and whatever. I'm not saying towards which direction I played this with but it was a deliberate play on that perfect control trope.
This story came out in March 2023 and 3 months after this, Utami, whose leadership over her Queen's Quest faction had been under scrutiny, entered a 6-on-6 cage match against the rival faction Oedo Tai, a match with a stipulation where the last remaining person on the cage would have to leave their faction. It was an amazing match full of drama that saw Saya Kamitani be tempted by taking the road taken by those betrayed Utami before but she ultimately chose to stick by her leader's side. After one of her biggest victories of her career, Utami decided to ... just fuck off for a while and do some mediocre matches in USA. She then would return to STARDOM but she would never reach the same heights that she used to be during the time I got inspired to write this story. After a lot of retirements and departures, she had the opportunity to rise back to the top but she also left and joined Marigold, another Joshi promotion that the likes of Giulia had also went to. She had a decent Marigold career so far, very good even. Though, the Utami I've been watching ever since this story came out could barely inspire me to write something like this again. (with the exception of that 6 on 6 cage match)
As for Saya Kamitani, well, she got to be the new leader of Queen's Quest after Utami's departure and had the opportunity to do the same thing Utami did in that cage. But her Queen's Quest ended up losing and disbanded. Kamitani turned heel not too long after, which had led to the best run of her life. Saya Kamitani, right now, is the biggest name in Joshi wrestling currently wrestling in Japan, having nationally televised matches and selling out crowd after crowd.
Funny how life works out.
I too, am not the same person I was in 2021 when the first Foreignerverse story dropped or even 2023, when the last one dropped. My life have gone through some extreme but wonderful changes that I thought would never happen to me. I still feel underprepared for all of it but the fact remains that it has all happened and I made them happen. I'm not expecting a lot of people to read this small personal passage in the middle of thousands of Joshi loredumps and hypnostory self-reviews (like it would be funny if anyone found out that I'm getting married next year by reading my self-indulgent Joshi hypnokink review sesh) but yeah, change might not be a linear process but it's a continuous process.
The Foreignerverse could've been a continuous process too, that's why you see 3 more faces in the cover picture after Utami's yellow-tinted spiralled face. I did want to write more Foreignerverse stories and I did have some sort of ideas for three more. Since this is supposed to be a retrospective on everything Foreignerverse, I figure I'll touch on them too.
The Foreignerverse That Could've Been #4: My next idea was about Kairi Hojo/Kairi Sane, who was, at the time, was back in Japan in between her two WWE runs. The idea here was simple: KAIRI was back home after a long time and would slowly realize that the landscape of wrestling in Japan has changed dramatically. The Foreigner would approach her pretending to be a friend, manipulating her in the guise of helping her adjust to how things work now. In real life, Kairi went back to WWE at the end of 2023, making the idea obsolete even before I wrote a single word for it.
The Foreignerverse That Could've Been #5: KAIRI was not the only former WWE wrestler who was hanging around in Joshi scenes during those times. Mercedes Mone, fka Sasha Banks, was such a big deal that she wasn't signed to NJPW or STARDOM, her contract was directly with the parent company Bushiroad. And the fifth story was going to feature her as the subject. This would've been during a point in TFV timeline where The Foreigner would probably the most successful non-Japanese act in Japanese wrestling so seeing Mone come with all that fanfare would make him feel protective over what he considers to be 'his territory'. In real life, Mone ended up having a relatively decent career in Japan, but not as successful as The Foreigner would think she could have. She then signed with AEW where she is currently still there, alongside her 200+ title belts.
The Foreignerverse That Could've Been #6: Last but not least, was a story idea featuring my favourite person in the entire Joshi wrestling. It's not Giulia, it's not Utami. It's TJPW's Sakisama. According to the lore, Sakisama is a 300 plus year old French aristocrat who preaches that beauty is strength and strength is beauty. In her NEO-Biishiki Gun estate, there are a cast of various colourful characters which at one point or another included people like Dr. Yukio with his hypnotic needles, Azusa the brainwashed nun, Mei Saint-Michel the maid who used to be a feral wild girl who got tamed by Sakisama's magical flute and so on and so forth. You get the idea here. I planned Sakisama to be the arc villain of this entire thing. Thanos of The Foreignerverse, if you will. She is not only incredibly hot but it would make perfect sense that a character with lore like this would be the biggest challenge. The inciting incident would probably be The Foreigner treading on Sakisama's territory by taking someone from TJPW under his control or something like that. And at the end, I came up with two ways of how The Foreigner would defeat someone so strong and beautiful. One, Sakisama is weirdly connected to someone called Saki Akai, another Joshi who wrestles in TJPW whenever Sakisama isn't around. The Foreigner could figure out what that connection would be and hypnotize Saki Akai to get at Sakisama. Two, Sakisama is, despite all her power, very susceptible to the sleeping lullabies of another wrestler called Raku. The Foreigner could maybe take Raku first and use the lullabies against Sakisama. But yes, that would've been the bookends on The Foreignerverse.
With all that said and done, this was the complete retrospective on my Japanese women's wrestling hypnokink universe with all its written and unwritten stories. This is an extreme self-indulgent post but this is also a non-original content day so you gotta take what you get. Hope you managed to read it through the and and hopefully you enjoyed and maybe gained a new interest in Japanese women's pro wrestling.
See you next day with a new original manip!
