Just Married!!
Francis E. Butler (an Irish immigrant) placed a $100 bet with Jack Frost, that he could beat any local fancy shooter. The hotelier arranged a shooting match between Butler and I. After missing on his 25th shot, Butler lost the match and the bet. After dating for awhile, we married on August 23, 1876. (best day of my life)
““God intended women to be outside as well as men, and they do not know what they are missing when they stay cooped up in the house.””
— Annie Oakly
Legacy-The impact Annie Oakley had was incredible for all women during this time period and still effects us today. She showed them there is life beyond the kitchen and women do have rights to preform other activities (such as shooting guns). By age 15 she paid off her mother’s mortgage (using the money she earned from shooting) which was something her father should have done; this is just another example of how women were capable of doing anything. Oakley symbolized courage for all women to stand up for themselves and follow what they believe in. She showed them that women can do everything men can do, and sometimes even better. Without her legacy women’s rights may have not come as far as they have. Women today have equal rights, are able to vote, can work a variety of jobs etc.

Annie Oakley: OMG Susan! Did you hear congress is thinking about passing women's right to vote?!
Susan B. Anthony: YES finally!! How crazy is that?
Annie Oakley: They're finally realizing we are equal and deserve our right to vote too...we're just as smart if not smarter!
Susan B. Anthony: We knew this journey wouldn't be easy, but with time we can make them realize how powerful and smart women are
Annie Oakley: Yes, sadly, are strength is in numbers but if we stick together we can soon change the world!
Susan B. Anthony: Right on girl! Well g2g ttyl xo
