here it is, @falsevacuum!!! just a few small tweaks ≽^•⩊•^≼
Presence
There's a certain beauty about you The way you linger, fade away Stare I was afraid A kid with uninvited guests But You kept me company
I was underwater, A blinding sun's daughter My skin is see-through, yet... Your presence remains steadfast and true Almost permanent, lingering, branding like a tattoo
I can see you, Especially when the stars lie bare on the black skies above I can feel you, The soft caress of a million hands on my skin I can hear you, Your forked tongue hissing near my ears
Overwhelming, suffocating, encompassing
Now Your presence remains Faint Always feared Always welcomed
I greet you
Benguet Lilies
Wonderful, isn't it? The trees and dirt paths Made way for circuitry and Towers of flaking paint
Yet
We smoke from the mountain's remains and Gather for tapuey and burning meat We see people holding on tight to their woven clothes of Carmine, Alabaster, and Ebony And we see artists With their shaky hands painting the gray of our city with Ancestors' Memories
Wonderful, isn't it?
I confess My eyes have been shrouded by white veil Unable to se the colors of those Who share my blood
But now
Carmine, Alabaster, and Ebony The stubbornness of the people How they cling to their inheritance Fills my hollow body with the Soft, white, delicate flowers Of Benguet Lilies
This is the first ever poem I made for a zine, and I'm so glad it got picked! Come read other people's work on this online zine by ili press :D
Sire Ginkgo helm by Jean-Michel Bihorel
This is probably something a fairy knight could wear.
