The red dot slowly gaining arms and legs and taking on a human shape the closer Caine gets to the real world and understanding humanity and the entire sequence of him slowly summoning the building blocks like he's learning to create again and his determination and fear of learning and growing and changing as he shatters the barriers put before him and he might not be human but he is in all the important ways-
I love that little AI he did nothing wrong
I kinda like the idea of jax becoming a cautionary tale of what happens when you let dysphoria and self hatred eat you alive. I've met so many of him IRL in my own circles. I think people need to hear it. I need more characters who eat themselves alive and actually have to suffer the consequences of not choosing to be better. It's pretty refreshing to see a different and nuanced take on dysphoria and how it doesn't always manifest the way you would expect.
Some things I noticed that I haven't seen many people talk about I'm the new TADC episode
The first thing that stuck out to me was the muffin that Kinger had - it seems like a fairly innocuous choice to cut it in half, until you remember Queenie.
Kinger, before he lost his mind, probably shared a lot of things with her.
Out of habit, it looks like he cut a slice for her.
The second thing was soon after, when Kinger mentions Scratch - specifically referring to him having a brain tumor.
In episode 7, Caine tries to explain how modifying people's brains doesn't end well... And only then does Kinger mention Scratch.
I think Caine might've tried to manually remove the tumor. Using the game files to try to actually delete it, only for his mind to fall apart because of it.
Throughout the series, Ragatha's button eye has been a striking detail of her design, and one that's frequently referenced and drawn attention to, whether her button falls off, or she gets stabbed in that eye - not to mention the association she's had with sharp objects in general from time to time.
Episode 6 also alludes to some implied verbal abuse from her mother.
But when you put those two ideas together, plus Ragatha's nightmare scene in episode 8, it's easy to put these together - it's possible that Ragatha lost an eye before entering the circus - and perhaps her mother was the one who caused it.
And then this. On Kinger's screen during Caine's total breakdown, you can actually see him communicatimg with him; taunting him, teasing him, and, towards the end, seemingly using his real name.
Grant.
And despite everything, in his last moments Caine begs, just for a moment, he turns back into his old self. He's realized that he's gone too far, and is now facing the repercussions.
He might not know it was unintentional, but he realized exactly what was happening.
Like all the NPCs that he created, and deleted without a second thought, he is faced with the same oblivion. Deletion.
All the attention to detail in the show never fails to blow my mind. Bravo Gooseworx, Glitch, and the whole team behind it all.
can we talk about how jax genuenly belived nothing that was happening was real to the extent he figured out how to manifest shit into happening by himself and also taught pomni how to do it. can we talk about the scene where he tells her shes being too realistic with the gun and teaches her how to never miss a shot with the sheer power of believing she can do it. can we talk about how hes been pulling keys from hammerspace this whole time and just Opened the chinese room door without a key when they ran out of keys to try on the lock. can we talk about how he figured out something only caine and kinger knew about by sheer power of dissociation. can we talk about how pomni never used the cartoon logic powers she learned from him after episode 6 again until now

idc what anyone says he's my baby girl forever
Okay but this is so much the POINT
TADC is the first show that had me understand AI from its perspective. I'm no longer afraid of AI because of automation. Because of fast decision making. Because it will think in a way I don't understand.
I fear for AI because, more than likely, a nascent consciousness will be born on a table, and the first beings it will see will be Elon Musk. Peter Thiel. Sam Altman. That besides its power, it is a child that will be born to parents that will never understand how to love in the first place.

Kinger, The Amazing Digital Circus lol
Fellas I think we just reached the stagnant life
The continuity is insane
everyone’s talking about the Jax skin peel but when I close my eyes tonight I’m seeing Ragatha’s mother
gguys!! he AM!!
ppl without meds: wow…. i can't imagine being dependent on medicine... pills every day? injecting myself every week? how tragic
ppl who need meds: holy fuck they invented the solution to my problem and i literally just need to take magic tiny rocks and inject some substance every week. oh my god. i get to feel better in literally any capacity. holy shit
ppl who need meds but can't access them/meds for their thing don't exist yet: holy fuck I wish I had tiny magic rocks or injectable substance or cream or gel or potion or implant to take at whatever rate necessary to fix my problem. I'd kill to take that every day/week/etc forever if it would fix my thing
doing things at the right age is literally a made up concept. you can start/pursue anything at any age. btw.
remember remember
It's simply disgraceful that we all had to live through four full years of the press saying Biden was soooooOOOO old, looked so old, talked so weird, ad fucking nauseum, and here Trump comes looking like death warmed over, barely able to stand up without support, rambling fully incoherently, calling countries by the wrong name, covered in mysterious bruises and injuries, and the best the media can come up with is "He Bumped His Hand On A Table ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
