Stranger Things Plotholes: The Masterdoc
After an underwhelming and laughably horrendous ending, I have made it my mission to catalogue EVERY SINGLE Plothole in the Stranger Things (2016) Universe.
This will be updated as I remember them / don't be afraid to suggest some in the comments :) If we're all going crazy over this ending, then I guess we'll be crazy together.
Challenge: Take a shot for every plot hole

Season 1
Why was Will taken?
Who opened the door in the Byers' shed (The Duffers said that demogorgans do not have telekinetic powers)
How could Will have called Joyce from the UD?
Why November 6th?
El recognizes Will in the picture in Mike's room. How did she know?
How did El escape the lab?
Will communicating with Joyce through the lights in BOTH instances (The UD is supposedly frozen on November 6th 1983?
Hopper tells Joyce that "nothing ever happens in Hawkins," despite the Creel murders happening not even 20 years ago
Will dying (he was attached to the vines just like the kids in season 5)
Will doesn't expel the same particles that the kids do in season 5 when he's saved.
The Mindflayer having eggs for some reason.
THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT: Eleven making contact with the demogorgan in the Abyss.
Season 2
Can't think of anything rn
Hopper almost dying in the tunnels because of the air + the vines, only for them to not do anything with it in the next seasons.
"Crazy together"
"If the brain dies, the body dies" -> means nothing because Will survives season 5
Season 3
Russia suddenly having access to Mind Flayer particles despite the gate being closed in Season 2
Why did Vecna wait for the Russians to open a gate to begin his plan if he could've just...tortured teens and made them himself?
Mike's behavior shift (especially towards Will)
Why was the mileven kiss at the end of the season weird??
Why was Will still connected to the Mind Flayer after the particles left him?
"Not Hopper, not Mike, you" => Then has El's arc focused on two men (Mike and Hopper)...you can't make this shit up
Season 4
Mike does not apologize to Will for the rain fight, not properly.
And why did vecna wait 8 months to start opening the 4 gates?
Hopper is somehow surviving???
Mike "won't stop whining" about the phone line always being busy even though he could only communicate with El through letters + cerebro, making Will the only option = never addressed
The Duffers are somehow forgetting about Will's birthday
Mike not being able to say "I love you" to El
Why was the airport hug weird?
The totality of the vision that Vecna showed Nancy
Jancy / Byler parallels
Mike lip glances??
El can suddenly bring people back to life ???
The clock symbolism being abandoned/ never explained.
The one-way sign in Mike's room.
The inconsistencies with Henry and Alice's ages in the show are compared to the play
Eleven's backstory conflicts with what we learn about her in season 1.
Mileven's fight stems from the fact that Mike can't say I love you to El and does not understand her (then proceeds to have El say that Mike is the only one who understands her in s5)
Season 5
El is somehow weaker when s4 was centered around her growing stronger
Joyce forgets that Will was 12 and NOT 11 when he was taken into the UD
The Mind Flayer is no longer a shadow and now has a physical body for some reason (it looks just like the MF from s3)
If Vecna's plan was to take kids from the beginning, why didn't he just start with 12??
They never discover the HUGE flesh wall after 30+ crawls
Why do Will and Henry have the same birthday?
After 30+ crawls, no one thought to check the lab for anything important?
Why is the Upside Down just Hawkins?
The Mind Flayer is easier to defeat than Billy in S3.
What happened to Max's mom?
Why isn't Max blind?
Hopper tells El that the way to break the cycle isn't through suicide, and then...commits suicide anyway? (Because El isn't Sara, Hop's daughter who died of cancer) Okay, I guess.
Will not dying even though it's established that he quite literally FEELS his pain and felt himself getting shot not even 5 minutes ago.
The visions Vecna showed Will
Will says that Vecna was going to use his sexuality against him in the final battle, only to not even address it in the finale.
Will saying that he "likes getting lost in the woods"
The continuity error with the dial of electricity/voltage thing at WSQK.
The painting never gets addressed despite being a huge plotpoint in season 4.
Karen and Ted somehow survive.
Karen does not have a reaction to Hopper being alive.
ElMax reunion being ridiculously underwhelming + their friendship is sidelined even though El SAVED HER FUCKING LIFE in s4.
Why did the lab coat man have the MF particles? (I don't care if it's explained in the play)
Gravity inconsistencies considering the UD is a wormhole => How is Vecna's plan feasible considering contact with exotic matter destabilizes the wormhole?
"Mike cluesslessness will pay off in the end."
Again, why November 6th?
Why aren't there demogorgans and demobats in Dimension X/The Abyss (Dustin said that this is where they came from + flashback shots of Henry in DX in season 4)
Why weren't the vines in the UD connected to the Hive Mind
Birthdaygate
What happened to the Turnbow family?
What happened to Erica?
How does electricity in the UD work?
The party's parents are okay with their kids being away from home for days at a time.
Lonnie?
What about the pregnant women in the military base?
The military letting the party go...
Milkshakegate
What happened to Suzie?
Literally, what happened to Dr Owens?
What happened to the traitor?
Where did the dust that came out of the kids go?
Max and Mr. Clarke are not surprised that Hopper is still alive.
How did Hopper just readjust to society? Don't people think he's dead?
The marketing of the "For Will" mixtape and the Rubber chicken.
Joyce AND Hopper never addressthat they knew Henry in high school. (even Karen for godsake)
Snowball/Avalanche leading to nothing
Literally every single WSQK hint
Max somehow graduated????
How did Jancy survive the cum room ???
Why is Hopper fine with El literally fucking dying lmao i hate this show
Lucas somehow...pushing a demodog away while carrying Max?
The demodogs being lobotomized in the laundry room even though FUCKING MUSIC IS PLAYING.
Karen suddenly being strong enough to set a trap for the demodogs + FUCKING SPEAK WHEN WE SAW HER THROAT GET CUT OPEN.
Everyone being okay with Hellfire even though everyone thought it was a DEMONIC CULT in season 4.
Why are Kali's powers different from the rest of the others? /+/ IfJane and Kali's powers both come from Henry, then why do they manifest differently?
Will somehow getting over Mike in 24 hours even though it was established that he was IN LOVE with him.
Why 12 kids?
What happened to Jane's mother? To her aunt?
Where did the exotic matter come from?
The kids NOT dying (they were attached to the vines like Will in season 1)
Mike suddenly being able to build a bomb ?
Mike being built up as the "heart" even though he barely does shit all season.
Henry beating his trauma in the cave through...willpower?
How is the military completly oblivious to Vecna?
How is Dr. K, supposedly the replacement of Brenner, unaware of his experiments on Henry, when the entire point was that she wanted to create more kids with powers?
The play never mentioned / explicitly explained.
Music and its importance (there's barely any music specific scenes + Max tells Lucas she didn't even need it...like okay)
El/Kali kryptonite never explained
Mileven relationship during the 18 month gap
Mike not reacting to Nancy, HIS SISTER, offering herself as bait during the final battle
There suddenly being water in El's tank when it's been established that there's no water in the UD.
Hopper not being in a trance when Vecna attacks him.
Robin not getting arrested for stealing DRUGS?
Mike does not tell El he loves her when she's about to DIE.
Why were the military men also crying when El sacrificed herself LMFAO
Erica sidelined in the season + not getting a real epilogue clip
Why was Dr. K important AT ALL? Why did she just let everyone off the hook?
Eleven claiming that Vecna is too far to find (he's in the Abyss) so she needs the bath + the Abyss to be closer. Thus, the Upside Down should've never been created.
How could Kali use her powers to help Eleven escape (if she survived)

Those are some at the top of my head + along with other creators. I;ll consider adding the first shadow since I've watched it, and maybe I'll do a masterdoc of every single meta lie the fandom has received.
All in all, I am immeasurably disappointed with the state of this show, time to move on to something that's actually well written, like anything written by Vance Gilligan and company.
that's right I had to glaze Breaking Bad + Better Caul Saul
