Byte was just as irked by the sudden appearance of another with a canine companion identical to his own, and at first he was rendered silent by it all. It wasn’t until they had made the comment about him treating Barq nicely did he speak up, though, his voice had tone to it. It had feeling, and it sounded just a tad bit offended..
“Of course I treat him well! What kind of police unit would I be if I was disrespecting my own companion?? A very poor one indeed, and I don’t know. I previously was under the assumption that I was the only one..” Barq began to sniff at the other as well, rather curiously.
“I JUST HAVE TO BE SU- WAIT. WHAT’S WITH YOUR VOICE?”
Since when did K-9000 units have voices that weren’t monotone?! Did he miss something? How confusing. Barq seemed to take notice of the anomaly, too, and looked up at the other patrol robot, yipping at him with a confused tilt of the head.
Barq of course, his Barq anyways, already had grown accustomed to hearing the tone in the taller bot’s voice, so he didn’t react to anything but the other reacting the way he did. “My voice? Oh, yes, that’s an upgrade I’ve had.” He sounded smug. “It’s nice being able to express myself.”
