Fire
That which gives fuel to human’s desire
That which ran industrialization
Consequences beyond our realization
Machines constantly with rage
Pumping energy at full gauge
Fire
That which burns in our hearts pyre
Reflection, projection, Affection
It’s how we show how we feel
It’s how hearts we steal
It’s how others may see,
You and me,
A show of emotions we can admire
Fire
Me
It’s not what I eat, can you see?
It’s not the color of my skin, can you see
It runs deeper than that, it must be
It’s ingrained in me, in my mind
But not by society, they aren’t kind
In my mind, I choose to be open-minded
Media’s narrow minded, may leave you blinded
Go out of your comfort zone,
Not just what the culture is known
Food won’t make you diverse
It might even make you worse
But that is society’s curse
Can you see?
Diversity is,
Me
Man
Born without a plan,
But with many goals set,
All of them, well some are met,
Never thinking of the effect,
Always thinking they are correct,
Sometimes the side effect is waste,
So much, they forget where it’s placed
Man
Thinking they have a plan
Using narratives to justify,
How people identify,
Mostly people just verify,
Their insecurities held,
From childhood that haven’t been expelled,
You must center, focus, trap
Those wasteful feelings that place a gap,
On your development and health
Happiness is the true wealth.
Change
What people don’t want, but need
Something that shouldn’t be fueled by greed
Rather by growth, rather by a seed
A seed of something new
Something that will act as a glue
To a new narrative that you want
A narrative that you will proudly flaunt
How you recycled, reused
Old waste that left you bruised
Torn, broken, and beaten down
Waste that had left you to drown
Change who you are
Be the light, be your star
Only then will you be improve
On the weakness that you wish to remove
What’s more important,
Connections or disconnections
We should be focusing on reconnections
With ourselves, with others, with the world
Instead of being in our beds curled
Wondering what’s wrong, who to blame
But the answer is never one name
So we put our heads down in shame
Hurt, weakened, and never the same
In today’s world you must be aware
Aware of the people that care
Of those that don’t you can spare
Feel the energy of the folk
For change to start, to invoke
Not just one person, but everyone
Equality, equity, its all one
One in the same
In the goals that we should aim
Look inside yourself and see
See the better person you can be
