A Messy Encounter|| Misa & Chrome

  Misa can be quite clumsy. She is often distracted by her phone and hardly paid any attention to where she is going. This is currently the exact reason why now her outfit is completely ruined. While she was leaving the restaurant for dinner she happened to accidentally run into someone. “Well just great. Look what you did. This was a one of a kind jacket and now you ruined it”.

Looks like today will be a particularly sour day for Chrome. Not only did he just meet a particularly rude individual that requested him to direct them to the aquarium, but he also bumped upon a rich-looking girl, causing the take out bags she had spill and dirty her pretty expensive jacket.

“Smooth, Chrome. Smooth.” He mumbled to himself. Okay, not only was it probably expensive, but it's also apparently a one of a kind jacket. What was he going to do now?

Smile and try to lessen the damage, of course!

“Um... I'm so sorry. C-Can I do anything for you so that you can forget that I just screwed up so hard here?”

“Oh, the aquarium…?” Chrome couldn’t help but sound a bit taken aback. As far as the young fisherman knew, the only people who would talk, much less walk up to him, were either his family, his fellow men of the rod, or a certain brunette he met just a couple of days ago. What made this even weirder however, was the fact that this rather forward person was obviously from Aliena and must be quite high in the social rankings, whom he thought had other things to worry about other than the stuff of the sea and oceans.

Still, anyone whom he feels has even the slightest of interest in these kinds of things, like this guy in front of him, well, were ok to humor in Chrome’s small-ish book.

“Yeah, um, I can’t exactly give you directions since I’m rather subpar at wording them, but I can most surely lead you there. Oh, I’m Chrome by the way. Chrome Grisaille, at your service.” The young fisherman introduced himself, his hand extended and expecting a handshake from this new person in front of him.

This person was cheery. Too cheery towards a person that he just met. Didn’t he know that you shouldn’t be too trusting towards people? 

Hikaru’s eyes narrowed. This person–Chrome–couldn’t give directions? So Hikaru would be stuck having him around? He would rather opt to wander around aimlessly until he found the place. But the damage had already been done and the man already offered to help him .

Damn. He was caught between a rock and a hard place.

He looked between Chrome and the outstretched hand in front of him. He… he was expecting a handshake? Hikaru scoffed, stuffing his hands into his pocket. “Sorry. I’m not partial to introducing myself to a complete stranger.” He lifted his head and looked away. “Let’s stop wasting time and go.”

In an instant there, Chrome's face defaulted to one devoid of emotion as he retracted his hand away from this “stranger”. 

“I understand. Sorry for entertaining the idea of introduction.” The fisherman said in a monotone. It's been a while since he acted this way, but he just couldn't help himself. “Follow me and I'll show you the quickest way to the aquarium.”

Now usually, people take roads to go to places. But since this probable sightseeing stranger pressed him for time, Chrome resorted to leading him in-between the houses of Am Meerians to quickly cut the usual, on-foot time of an hour from where they are, to just 26 minutes of squeezing through the spaces between houses.

Emerging from the sea of homes, Chrome pointed out to an appropriately aquatic-themed building on some elevated land near the sea.

“There it is.” The black-haired youth flatly declared to the Alienan stranger squeezing out of the spot he came out of.

“Thanks, but I really don’t need a menu. I’ll be ordering the pork chops with a salad on the side, okay? Oh, and I’d also like some iced tea, if you have any.” The famished fisherman quickly ordered. 

As the man at the counter relayed his order to the chefs in the back, Chrome found his way to a table quite near to the counter and began to quitely hum as he waited for his food. Moments later, the orange-haired attendant returned to his spot and produced a book of some sort and started reading it. A bout of silence and curiosity later, Chrome decided to call for the man.

“Hey, uh, what are you reading there?”

Kyo wrote down the order as the man spoke. “I’ll go put it in,” he said before walking away. The customer yelled out a drink, and Kyo found himself cringing. How could he forget to ask the customer what kind of a drink he wanted? Normally they were at the table, the voice in his head muttered.

Kyo came back with an iced tea and set it in front of the man at the table he sat at. He threw a straw on the talbe and headed back to the counter. He opened his book and began reading it. It was great that it was slow, but with the one customer here Kyo was unable to lean onto the counter to read his book. He had to awkwardly bend over and he could feel his back already aching.

His eyes flashed towards the customer as soon as he heard him speak. What was he reading again? He flipped the book open to the cover and returned to his spot. “It’s a collection of Greek myths. You familiar with them?”

Ah, the tales of grand gods and fantastical entities Chrome could remember being part of his history lessons back when he was a student at Seaside High. The fisherman mentally admitted that he didn't pay the greatest of attention to his teacher as he blabbered about the twelve trials or something, but there was a couple of things he could vividly remember.

“Yeah, kinda. The stories of the water deities are the ones I can most clearly recall, like how a simple fisherman called Glaucus ate a herb of immortality and became a prophetic sea god that saved other fishermen and even sailors that are plauged by storms at sea.” Chrome said with zeal, proud that he could still say all of that without missing a beat. 

Everything related to fish, the ocean, and water always stood out in the black-haired youth's memories so much that, if Chrome would reckon it, a quiz show all about those would air, he would easily win it by a landslide.

As he realized this however, Chrome knew in the back of his mind that there was more to life than just those things he loves. This narrow-minded attitude of his about fishing and the like only got him this far because he lived in Am Meer, a place that encourages these subjects and are a part of its culture. 

“What's with the worrying about, Chrome? Just enjoy the fact that you can follow your dreams...” Chrome whispered to himself, before glancing to the man at the counter and finding himself a bit embarrassed at this man’s deadpan expression.

The sun was high above Altor’s sky when small-time fisherman Chrome had decided to pay a visit to Aliena’s Crystal Plaza Shopping Center. Despite losing his 2 year old fishing rod in a rather one-sided tussle with the biggest and most powerful fish he had ever encountered, the black-haired youth was walking around in a leisurely pace as he looked all over the place in search for the Center that contained a rod specialty store he’s been hearing all about back at Am Meer.

“I wonder where it is?” Chrome said with a sigh. He never really was good with directions, much less the vague ones he got from his fellow fishermen who recommended this store. As the youth’s sight darted from place to place to place in an effort to find his destination, Chrome’s stomach growled, earning him a few stares from the people around him.

“Pardon me… I haven’t eaten dinner yet. Where can I possibly…?” Chrome whispered all but his apology.

Looking to his right, he saw the Blindfish, which he heard has quite the high-quality fish and tasty breadsticks. Chrome however, quickly returned to searching. I mean, who would eat fish here when your home was where the fish was imported from?

“Hm? This smell…” Setting his gaze to the side parallel, but a bit more northward, to Blindfish, Chrome saw a place called, well, Davey’s Place. He walked closer to it in an unnaturally fast pace for him, the scent of homely food attracting him like a shark to chum. Home-cooked style food had always made him quite ravenous. It’s also kinda named after his father, which was a nice little tidbit Chrome appreciated.

Entering the restaurant, the fisherman hastily approached the counter and its attendant.

“Um, excuse me, can you recommend me something? I’d rather not waste your time nor mine by taking an eternity to pick anything from the menu.”

Kyo hopped off the bus, slinging his backpack over his shoulder and tightening his grip on the strap. He had to stay after to talk to his teacher about something–a little scuffle that he had with a student when he yelled at them for something stupid. He glanced around. This wasn’t the normal stop that the bus made. Luckily he quickly found his bearings and ran towards the direction of Davey’s. 

After he had changed into his blue shirt–the official uniform of Davey’s–and clocked him, he was about five minutes late. The restaurant had been slow, so it wasn’t an issue that Kyo was late, seeing that he was normally always punctual and on time. He called out to his co-worker, the one that he replaced. “You’re good to go,” Kyo said. “I’ve got this.”

He served the rest of the customers until the last one walked out, leaving Kyo alone in the restaurant. He honestly had never seen Davey’s so barren before when it should have been a prime time for them. He returned to his spot at the front counter and pulled out one of his school books from the bottom shelf. This would be an ideal time to catch up on the readings for his classes.

The door opened, and a customer quickly approached the customer before Kyo could even greet the customer. He blinked, taken back. What would he reccommened? His first choice was always the whitefish dinner, mainly because of Kyo’s fascination with fish. But Kyo’s nose–more sensitive than most–could make up the overwhelming scent of the ocean from this man. Fish wouldn’t be the best option for him.

“The pork chops are pretty good. They’re served with mashed potatoes and either a steamed vegetable or a salad.” He forced a smile, trying to use his best facade to be a friendly employee. He grabbed a menu and stepped away from the counter. “However, I think it would do you some good to look at the menu. We have plenty of tables that you can sit and relax at while you decide what you want to eat.”

Am Meer was a place that Hikaru had technically frequented since he was a small child. The Hitachiin’s had a yacht here that they often took to an island resort a few miles from the shore. Truthfully, he had never visited Am Meer itself. He also hadn’t traveled to another city on his own.

He took a bus to the southern city, much to the chagrin of the Hitachiin limo drivers. He wanted a day to himself, since his brother was sick, and he didn’t feel like having any guards patrolling over him like he was a lost child. It was an adventure of his own, but he would need to make sure he brought back a souvenier for his brother.

The town, though it was much smaller than Aliena, was still distinctive in its size. And Hikaru felt nearly overwhelmed once he stepped off the musky bus. The problem was that he was used to the different streets of Aliena, knowing easily where each building and location was. But in this new town of Am Meer without the gps of his limo driver, he had no idea as to where to go.

He looked around, stuffing his hands into his pockets. He didn’t want to waste his time wandering around trying to find the aquarium. “Yo!” He called over the first person he could see that didn’t look like they were carrying much–Hikaru didn’t want the poor sap to be paying more attention to his belongings than him.

He walked up to the guy, taking long strides until he arrived in front of the man. “You should tell me where Cerulean Aquatic Life Sanctuary is,” he bluntly ordered. “So where is it?”

“Not again… You… YOU’RE NOT GETTING AWAY THIS TIME!” The black-haired youth shouted with energy and zeal as he poured all his strength into one, final and grand pull with Judai, finally ending the struggle and making whatever blasted fish thar was at the end of the line fly out of the water.

Naturally, being a fisherman and all, Chrome was supposed to feel ecstatic and hyped for what he caught. As his solitary haul crashed into the wooden dock however, he was more shocked than happy.

“Eh? Wh… What’s a greater amberjack doing…?” Chrome stuttered, his body stiff and unmoving.

The brunette was amazed by the fish that he and the young fisherman finally brought to air. “Wow! What a fish! Congrats Chrome! You got a whopper!”  He praised. Though he noticed that Chrome was quite shocked, which switched Judai’s expression to concern. He would have thought catching a fish that size would end with one happy fisherman. “What’s wrong? Aren’t you excited?”

“W-Well...” Chrome just couldn't believe this. Kneeling close to the fish to inspect it and make sure he wasn't seeing things, he confirmed that it was indeed a greater amberjack. He guessed it was about time he explain why he reacted that way to Judai and composed himself.

“You see, Judai... this fish is supposed to be quite extinct, actually. Seems unlikely now that there’s one gasping for air in front of us.” The young fisherman said without missing a beat.

Starter for @basalyo​! It wasn’t uncommon for Judai to skip class, even back at Novaster. Though it was only a few weeks that Judai has been attending Seaside and he was already trying to avoid schoolwork, even for being a more chilled out place. He felt as he wanted to lay about around the docks, since they have started to become more of his thinking place lately. The brunette decides to position and sit down near the very end of the docks, just enough to hang his legs down to have some space for them to dangle about. He took in a big breath and stared out into the ocean, enjoying the breeze and the view. After a few minutes, Judai turned around and noticed someone was behind him. “Uhhh, hello?”

“Oh. Hello, as well.” Chrome said impulsively as his left hand did a little wave. Eyeing the boy closely, the young fisherman found himself unable to attach a name to the face staring back at him, which was odd, considering the fact that he knew almost everyone at Am Meer. 

“He must be new here.” Chrome instantly thought. Gripping his newly-bought rod that he was eager to test out in this dock, Chrome spoke:

“I’m one of Am Meer’s countless fishermen, Chrome Grisaille. Mind if you make room for me there and tell me your name while you’re at it?”

Judai’s face lit bright with a smile as he scooted over to the side, inviting Chrome to sit next to him. “Nice to meet’cha Chrome! I’m Judai Yuki! I just moved here from Aliena not too long ago! Surprised I’m just now seeing you around here considering I’ve been visiting the docks often.” He said as he chuckled a bit.

Sitting beside the brunette, Chrome made a little test-cast with his rod as he replied to Judai’s question. 

“I’ve been looking around for a replacement rod when I lost mine to a powerful, fish or whatever, that took old Samantha down with it. Found this one in Ailena’s Crystal Plaza, actually, and I’ve been calling it Aqua.” The youth rambled a bit as he held his fishing rod closer to Judai, letting his new aquaintance see the dazzling blue details and water-themed designs on the rod.

Chrome chuckled a bit as he returned to his spot, reeling in his line all the while doing so. With his rod fully reeled in, the black-haired fisherman sighed.

“Sorry, was I too weird there? With all the naming of my rods and stuff?”

The young brunette glimpsed at the artistic-looking fishing rod as Chrome reeled the rod back in, impressed with it’s aquatic design. “Nah you’re cool. I don’t blame ya for wanting to give this beauty a name, it well deserves one.” Judai replied with warm grin. “ Hopefully Aqua here will give ya some good luck in the future!” Judai took his eyes off the fishing rod, and look back at Chrome. “If you need some company here while ya fish I could stick around a bit longer, if you don’t mind? I got nowhere else I need to be right now anyways.”

“Ah, it’s fine. Having someone while I fish is a nice change of pace.” Chrome said with a smile. “Also, thank you for understanding this strange little fisherman.” 

As he casted Aqua into the water again, Chrome stayed silent for a while. Minutes pass before the black-haired youth turned to Judai, a feeling of curiosity currently on his mind.

“Hey, Judai. Tell me about- WHAT THE-?!” 

Interrupted by a sudden force pulling his line, Chrome was understandably taken off guard. If it were any other catch, he might’ve just lose concentration and lost Aqua the same way he lost Samantha. But this one? This one’s power was all too familiar to the fisherman, causing him to actually stand up and gleefully fight against it. Whatever this catch may be, it has finally returned. And this time, Chrome might actually get to haul this behemoth.

Glancing to the brunette beside him, who was now on feet, Chrome smirked.

“Judai, four arms are better than two, right? Come’re and help me introduce air to this fish!”

”Ah-ah, okay!” Judai, by shocked reflex, helped pull the rod as Chrome battled with the monster himself. The sheer force of whatever was pulling them down started to make the brunette’s arms tremble. He was trying to pull in as hard as he could. “Damn what’s even on this line!? Godzilla!?” Judai yelled as he shut his eyes. Whatever it was, it wasn’t going to go down without a fight, that’s for sure. Judai’s arms weren’t really having much luck keeping steady as the aquatic beast pulled them both. “At this rate my arms are going to be turned to paste!” He exclaimed.

I've got a bad feeling about this

“…What’s wrong? Trouble?” Chrome’s eyes begin to dart all over the place, hoping to see anything suspicious. Several minutes pass, but nothing happens. 

“Hm… There seems to be nothing particularly sketchy around here.” The youth said as he breathes a sigh of relief. “Still… Keep an eye or an ear to your surroundings. You can never be too careful, okay?”

The sun was high above Altor's sky when small-time fisherman Chrome had decided to pay a visit to Aliena's Crystal Plaza Shopping Center. Despite losing his 2 year old fishing rod in a rather one-sided tussle with the biggest and most powerful fish he had ever encountered, the black-haired youth was walking around in a leisurely pace as he looked all over the place in search for the Center that contained a rod specialty store he's been hearing all about back at Am Meer.

"I wonder where it is?" Chrome said with a sigh. He never really was good with directions, much less the vague ones he got from his fellow fishermen who recommended this store. As the youth's sight darted from place to place to place in an effort to find his destination, Chrome's stomach growled, earning him a few stares from the people around him.

"Pardon me... I haven't eaten dinner yet. Where can I possibly...?" Chrome whispered all but his apology.

Looking to his right, he saw the Blindfish, which he heard has quite the high-quality fish and tasty breadsticks. Chrome however, quickly returned to searching. I mean, who would eat fish here when your home was where the fish was imported from?

"Hm? This smell..." Setting his gaze to the side parallel, but a bit more northward, to Blindfish, Chrome saw a place called, well, Davey's Place. He walked closer to it in an unnaturally fast pace for him, the scent of homely food attracting him like a shark to chum. Home-cooked style food had always made him quite ravenous. It's also kinda named after his father, which was a nice little tidbit Chrome appreciated.

Entering the restaurant, the fisherman hastily approached the counter and its attendant.

"Um, excuse me, can you recommend me something? I'd rather not waste your time nor mine by taking an eternity to pick anything from the menu."
