I think we don't talk enough about how Adam and Ruby parallel each other in a way.
Like, of course, it's not as obvious as Adam and Yang's parallelisms as Blake partners; they're also romantic rivals, and even have the same semblance to show you how similar and yet how different they are.
But here I'm talking another kind of parallel.
Adam was Blake's partner. But also, her leader. He was older and more experienced, and someone she trusted, that he cared about making the world a better place and could lead them into something good. Someone she admired and looked up to. Turns out, he wasn't. Not only was he abusive: he was also cruel and selfish, and didn't care about anyone but himself. He was a terrible leader.
And then there's Ruby.
Ruby was younger than Adam and Blake herself. She seemed like quirky, immature girl at times at first, talented but less experienced. And too optimist. But Ruby wasn't naive. She's genuinely a good person who really wants to make the world a better place, and who cares about people, about her friends. She reminds Blake of herself when she was a bit younger. And Ruby inspires her, and she looks up to her.
Out of WBY, Blake is the only one who has never questioned Ruby's leadership. In fact, she's always the first to follow her. I just love how much she trusts Ruby.
Blake left Adam found Yang, who is a much better partner in every sense of the word. But she also found Ruby, who is the kind of leader she once thought Adam was.
Ruby and Adam are also both red/black themed characters with a rose as their symbols, but it's probably not intentional lmao
