Shocked and aggrieved.
Friendly reminder to not punish yourself for creating.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?
I have a tendency to beat myself up whenever something I make doesn’t meet my expectations (which is always). The result is that finishing something = bad feelings: I am effectively punishing myself for having created something. The natural reaction to this punishment is an aversion to creation, meaning that my perfectionism is harming me, not only by causing me to despise what I do make and by impeding the creative process, but by attacking even my desire to create.
Don’t punish yourself for NOT creating either.

When Audrey Hepburn died at the age of sixty-three, she left behind one final surprise—an empty closet. Where were the designer originals worth tens of thousands of dollars? The world-famous little black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's? Why did Audrey Hepburn, of all people, have a nearly empty closet with nary a couture gown in sight?
The answer proved both simple and profound. During her last ten years, Audrey Hepburn ruthlessly pared away at her life until only the absolute essentials remained. Hollywood? Not interested. Fashion shows? Thank you, but no. There was simply no need for Givenchy gowns when trekking across Africa on behalf of the starving children of the world.
In truth, if anyone had been paying strict attention to the substance beneath her dazzling surface, they would have seen an indication of her ultimate direction as far back as 1959's The Nun's Story; speaking to her castmate Patricia Bosworth, she had explained: "I love fashion, you know. Really love it. But fashion has nothing to do with me." At which point, recalled Bosworth, Audrey touched her heart and emphasized: "The me in here. . . . the private me, the interior me —inside I'm not fashionable at all." - Audrey Hepburn: A Life of Beautiful Uncertainty

Perfectly matching and replicating colors just by seeing them is an art, and, while it's also a very useful task, people who can do this are primarily artists.

Wow.
Yeah but no but yeah -- Look he didn't just colour match it, he also added in the turbulence medium, the clearcoat and the correct metallic flecks... for a paint that will dry a lighter shade than when it goes on.
That's like being served an entire thanksgiving meal made my one person in 45 minutes and then saying "Oh they made me a snack": It is radically underselling what this person can do.
there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.
if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.
this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.
of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?
boaty.
"That's why the British museum is so busy all the time. No British people ever go in there, it's full of people from abroad looking at their own stuff."
