I haven’t seen anyone talking about luke mainly having demigods instead of monsters/mythics in his army this early on in his villain era
assuming there’s going to be some sort of clash between team luke and team percy in the S2 finale…it’s going to be kinda crazy to see the older teens/young adults fighting younger teens/children this early on. in the book 5 battle there were more demigods, but they also had years to defect from kronos so it’s hard to feel bad for them at that point. It’s one thing to fight monsters and a whole other thing to fight another human being especially children.
just trying to decide if this is a plot thing they decided to do or they didn’t have more money in the monster budget
rip to the iconic hummus line, gone but not forgotten
Yeah, that's true.
PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS | 2x05: We Check In to C.C.’s Spa & Resort
“I’d burn it all down”… if percy is saying this now, the crashout he’s going to have next season is going to be peak cinema
every week I say “wow this is the best episode they’ve ever made” and this week is no exception
thalia being british is so funny I just know Percy is gonna mock her accent next season
annabeth dangling off of something every season in the show, and getting pulled up every time…I’m sure that’s not foreshadowing anything important
need the first seaweed brain and wise girl drop of s2 reaaaaal bad
clarisse’s show story arc reminds me of the short story where percy helps her get ares’s war chariot back….which reminds me of how good the pjo universe short stories are
we are sooo getting the full series renewal… those first 2 eps were INSANE
just finished The Court of the Dead! Overall 4/5 stars, and imo MUCH better than TSATS. def give TCOTD a shot even if you did not vibe with TSATS. It reads more like the newer pjo books.
I think the writing blended much better this go around even though there were still some parts when you know who wrote what. The premise and plot was great and thought provoking and only a little preachy, which is a huge improvement from book 1. maybe that’s what middle grade is and I’m just a couple decades past the target audience lol.
to me, the biggest thing this book has going for it is the other characters. tbh I’ve never had strong feelings for nico but I enjoy hearing his story enough to pick up the books. But mostly I want to know about hazel and frank and even will more. they are just a billion times more interesting to me. I’ll say he is growing on me more after this one but I was waaay more interested in hazel manipulating the Mist etc.
pjo/hoo fans, listen to me. *shakes you* listen to me. read the kane chronicles. read it. have you read it? read it again. i mean it. there's other reasons, but the main one is that i'm out here making genious posts about tkc, and there's so few people to appreciate my massive brain.
reasons you might want to read tkc:
narrated by two different characters. the framing device is that it's being audio recorded, and you can often see snippets of them being like "don't look at me like that sadie" or "carter just kicked me for saying that"
the god tier character that is sadie kane. she's so in touch with her emotions and unafraid to express them, it's refreshing. she's only 13 in the beginning of the trilogy, and she's so ready to tell people off for being pricks. she chews bubblegum and dyes her hair and she's even british. makes fun of her brother. consistently the funniest character in the series, all while not losing impact as a dramatic figure
the gods are seen really differently than in rr's other books. in pjo, the gods are these all-powerful beings and we mustn't anger them. in tkc, they're your buds. your parents have probably had a fistfight in an applebees parking lot with at least two gods. you see a god for drinks every thursday.
gods literally inhabit the human character's bodies, it's like a venom situation. it makes up for some very funny moments.
where pjo/toa is about acknowledging your family has problems and at times, you're fully right to distance yourself from them, because they're horrible people, tkc is about reconnecting with your family again. it's about finding stability in your family, and how they're, in the end, always the ones that are left there for you
incredibly interesting magic system. they have infrastructure built all over the world. not just two wands (rather a wand and a staff) but also a whole magician's kit.
cast is near-entirely made up of people of colour. two main characters that are both mixed, and the series focuses on how their different appearances affect how people treat them. the magicians are mostly descendants of egyptian rulers
canon polyam couple!!
in conclusion: EVERYBODY READ TKC NOW
I never said boyfriend! Percy Jackson and the Olympians - Season 2
