Stay away from anything with charcoal during this season if you are on ANY medication!!!

The way activated charcoal works is basically latches onto any medication in your system and basically neutralizes it. You may as well not be on any meds at all. Seizure meds? You're fucked. Cancer meds? You're fucked. Allergy meds? You're fucked.

DO NOT INGEST THIS STUFF!!! If you want something that dark, cookies, chocolate, and food coloring are right there.

SCIENTIFIC MISINFORMATION

Activated charcoal does not flush hormones or other drugs out of your system.

Activated charcoal does not clean your blood. It only acts on *certain types of chemicals* that are currently in your stomach, pre-digested. It cannot remove compounds that are already in your bloodstream and muscle tissue - if it did then we wouldn’t need narcan or any other intervention for overdosing or poisoning.

Activated charcoal taken ***within 1 hour*** of consuming medication may inhibit absorption. It may sometimes act up to 4 hours (because that's how long some things sit in your stomach)
