A short animated scene of two of my French Revolution OCs interacting: Charles Latour and Alexandre Beaumarchais, both deputies. This scene takes place in Alexandre’s drawing room, in Paris. I truly love giving life to my characters through these short animations.
I’ve worked on every step of the scene: rough character animation to the color, the backgrounds, the compositing and some of the sound effects… Also, wink wink, the text on the paper is the first letter that Saint-Just wrote to Robespierre…
The voice lines for Charles are from the French dub of Sea Beast (2022), and for Alexandre, the French dub of the movie 9 (2009). Translation: “Are you sure?” / “Oh no! We cannot go there…we have rules!” / “Yeah, you’re probably right…”
If you have to ask me who is the most unknown revolutionary during the French Revolution
Ghost of Thermidor Past
Illustration from "Mon ami Robespierre" (Henri Béraud, 1927). Painter/Illustrator: Jacques Camoreyt (1871 - 1963).
Extract from the execution of Charlotte Corday. First appearance of Robespierre and co. in the memoirs! Slightly updated portraits under the cut.

AMAZING HEAVENLY
Been getting into the French Revolution lately and want to draw a couple scenes from The Memoirs of the Sansons so here's me trying to get down an interpretation of some of the guys involved.
Bottom left is Grandpa Sanson- if anyone knows what he actually looked like I'd love to know bc I couldn't find anything
Me, metaphorically whacking non Habsburg historians with a rolled up newspaper: it's not the Austro-Hungarian empire or Austria-Hungary until 1867. Before that it's Austria, the Austrian Empire, or the Habsburg Empire.
hungarian liberal nationalists be like “i have my whole revolutionary life ahead of me” No you don’t, the Tsar is coming 😂
