My Mum Doesn’t Want Me In The Kitchen Ep 1: Noodles
Hello and welcome to the first episode of MMDWMITK. I don’t know how often I’ll post stuff like this because it depends on how often I can force my way into the kitchen. I’d imagine most of it is gonna be noddles lol.
So today, this is the culprit:
Tomorrow (a Sunday) I have a five hour rehearsal for the school musical and we get notoriously small lunch breaks and because it’s a Sunday we don’t get school food so we have to bring our own. What you’re looking at is a double portion so I’m only having half.
The recipe for this particular batch of noodles is:
-Lentil Protein Noodles (Egg Noodles work well as well)
- three gloves of fresh garlic
- a full bell pepper (this one’s green but feel free to use other colours)
- most of a bag of baby spinach
- roughly eight or nine cherry tomatoes (halved)
- one portion of diced chorizo
- Chilli oil (measure with the heart)
- Finely chopped Italian tomatoes (you know, the ones that come with a sauce thingy) again, measure with the heart.
I just heat up the wok (or pan), add the chilli oil then dump in the vegetables.
Wait until the peppers are cooked then add the spinach.
Once wilted, add the chopped tomatoes to act as kind of a broth. If it looks too liquid-y then you’re doing it right.
Once it is a suitable temperature, add the Noodles Of Choice! and cook them. Don’t eat raw noodles.
And boom. It’s done. I tend to add chilli oil throughout the process however that can make it quite spicy.
I would like to add that this is not meant to be authentic because I am an incredibly picky eater and this is one of the few ways I personally enjoy noodles, so if you have the same type of pickiness as me or are just looking for a comforting but healthy noodle recipe then this is the one for you.
