Rose has me gushing on her illustrations all the time, but let me tell you guys how much this piece of ART means to me.
Ever since I was 11 and Resident Evil altered my brain chemistry forever, I have loved with Chris Redfield. It wasn't a crushâhe was just cooler, more fun. Didn't give a fuck that the game was harder with him, I just wanted to stab zombies while witnessing hsi swag.
Fast forward to 2024, when another game, Silent Hill 2 Remake, also jostled the juices in my brain. By then, I had come from a long life defined by urging for the company of men, unknowingly trying to get their permission to be one of them.
James, a world class piece of shit, proved to me the bar to being one wasn't that high. But I needed a better role model.
The one reason I had the courage to put my name on the waiting list for top surgery, and started shooting T, was just so I could look a little more like Chris. Doesn't matter that I will always be a 5'5", AFAB short king, seeing this man's willpower and loyalty over the years is making me strive to be who I'm really meant to be, and seeing him represented as someone like me, tugs at my heartstrings in a manner I'm not even sure Rose realizes.
So thank you, Rose, for this gift. Keep on rocking, your art gracing us every day keeps me going â„
Would anyone be interested in writing commissions? The only fandom I feel comfortable writing nowadays is Resident Evil, but would be willing to write almost any ship (just no minors or incest).
