âWell, at the very least, you need to be visiting schools with small children, doing assemblies about stuff like this. You are the kind of personality that could make a kidâs entire week. You could bring all kinds of cool stuff in, tell awesome stories. Who knows? You might be the person who inspires the next generation Baxter Lightfoots. Goodness knows the world could use a few more of you running around.â She might not be nearly as closed off and defensive as she was now.
His passion about his findings made Jessica yearn to know more, want to know exactly what is going through his mind. It made her want to learn about something she hadnât had to have a working knowledge of since her college years. This sensation hit even deeper when he said heâd have all the time in the world for her. The sincerity, the sweetness, the purity of itâŚIt genuinely rendered her speechless. Jessica found herself unable to say a word, her eyes meeting his for a moment, then casting her gaze down to the water with a smile.
She could feel the heat of his gaze, her skin now on fire between Baxter and the sun above. What could she say? How could she react? Why didnât she know how to react? All of this questions began to swirl in her head like a vortex before an answer was thrust upon her. Before she could react, a pair of hands and found purchase on her waist, and the redhead yelped in shock as she felt herself being picked up and brought out into the water. Her arms instantly wrapped around his neck, holding on for dear life as he brought her into the water.
As she begun what heâd done, part of her wanted to laugh and roll her eyes. Sheâd done the same to him, how could he not to her? What she didnât expect was to suddenly feel his lips on hersâŚor for it to feel so wonderful. Her inhibitions gave way as she found herself not wanting to fight or question whatever was going on here. Jessica returned the kiss, breaking apart for a moment as they floated to the surface, her lips returning to his immediately once they broke the surface.
When they resurfaced, Baxter had to admit that he was worried she wouldnât still be kissing him, but after that brief moment passed, the man let his lips meld into hers once more. He pulled her close, as his arms were still around her waist. Baxter had never had a kiss quite like this, and he was planning on savoring every moment of it. Despite how much he didnât want to let her go, he knew that he could probably have some more of her if he played his cards right, so he slowly broke away from her.
âI was worried Iâd get a slap for that,â he told her with a bit of a chuckle, though he kept her close. She was easily the prettiest girl heâd ever kissed, and he was still in shock that she wasnât running away. âYouâre a... a really good kisser,â he continued, smiling as his faced flush. âThough, I guess I really shouldnât expect any less from a real life siren,â he admitted with a playful grin.
