[ Wrong Place, Wrong Time]

Over the past week Baekhyun has gotten deeply involved in an FBI case searching for a serial killer, the first this year. The killer started acted at the beginning of the year, and the FBI are still working on catching him. Now cases of serial killers were rare for a very simple reason, geniuses are rarely born. And Baekhyun can acquaint for it. Most people who go out and start killing at random, are not smart, they are simply primitive. And this case was no different, but for some reasons they cannot catch the motherfucker. They have accounted for at least ten victims, all male in their early twenties, most of them famous or on the ladder to their success. Baekhyun could tell this person was no genius, for he did not do much to cover his victims. However, he was completely spotless. He knew how to cover his tracks, most of the times. Ever since Baekhyun joined forces with the FBI, they have been able to cover so much more ground. Their previous forensics analyst was a moron, as Baekhyun likes to call him. He was not involved, not like Baekhyun. That is why he was not working there anymore.
— Tuning In

There was no drop of alcohol running through his veins, yet he felt dizzy. Maybe he was just getting old and tired of these mundane distractions. The dim lights were not doing justice to his tired eyes, and the music was way too loud. He felt slightly suffocated. He spent a lot of time examining people in his daily job, it was somehow his hobby. He saw everything that was happening, beneath his addiction. He recognized some faces, and behavioural patterns that have not changed one bit. Jiyong was right, and Baekhyun listened attentively. But his mind travelled all across the room, and his instinct was not suppressed any longer. He dragged another smoke, a long one this time, and breathed out softly. The sweet scent of his e-cigar calmed him down, he never liked that rotter scent of weed. But it only came to him now that he sniffed it from some couple who was smoking nearby. It was quite disgusting. He remembers them, they used to hide in the bathroom and smoke the same kind of weed. It was a surprise they were still together, but they have not changed a bit.
HISTORY IN PAINTINGS

Baekhyun bushed through all that high school was or could have been. He did not like dwelling on old memories that meant nothing to him. He could be like that sometimes, someone detached from what people considered to be beautiful. For him beauty was limited to creation, sometimes science. It was the downside of being a genius, this prevailing feeling of loneliness and sometimes bitterness. But he lived for it, he liked being alone. And it was not much different in high school. He rarely spent any time with people, not truly spent time with them. Mostly he would give out advice, or knowledge, but he never really minded them as humans. For him, they were experiments. He did not have that deep connection or close friendship. But there were a few people he would like to believe were close to him, or at least bearable. He would have conversations with them about things like art or chemistry. Those were the only people worth his time, really. So he spent some time with them, talking. And it was quite enjoyable, but he did not keep any of them close, he had no desire to do so.

— career development.
Baekhyun has worked for the Police Department in Seoul for a long time, however his work was limited and sometimes unsatisfying. Therefore he accepted to work for the FBI in secret, keeping his work for the police minimal and dabbling into larger cases that deal with more than the police can handle. FBI made sure to shut the police force up about this, as they would lose a lot of cases if anyone would know about their involvement with the FBI. Things are getting complicated in Seoul, so do expect tragedy and more /fictional/ murder. Therefore, this extends possibilities for other kind of plots (which I am more than willing to touch), but it also puts Baekhyun at risk of being discovered. This change is crucial, but it will be kept as a secret from all the muses, and especially from GG (for now).

It was incredibly easy for him to blend in a crowd, perhaps it was a perk of being unpopular. He did not attract a lot of attention, he was mainly restrained and although he looked charming, people stayed away. Mayhap it had something to do with the fact that he was pretty overt about his day job. He cannot imagine anyone crazy enough to get into a conversation with someone who works with the police. But an artist, well that was a whole different story. He was an artist and one whose work was well respected. Maybe unknowingly, since he mainly sends his work to Europe. Out there nobody knows about Byun Baekhyun, the forensics analyst. They only know Byun Baekhyun, the artist. Perhaps that is the reason why he was surprised to be asked to send in an artwork for a new exhibition. It was an honour, of course. And to be invited to actively participate was an amazing opportunity to talk about art. However, although all the pieces exhibited were incredible, nobody stopped and asked questions. Typical. People only cared about money, and how much they can sell an artwork for. Their shallowness was absolutely disgusting.

Indeed art was the easiest way to access someone’s mind and heart, some would consider it to be the only valid way. The observation of the piece offered Baekhyun more than he would have asked for. He might have lied when he told Jiyong he was not acquainted with the human psyche. In fact he knew quite a lot about it. He dealt with people whose psyche was deeply disturbed by trauma, some of them hiding the results quite well. He could see traces of trauma on Jiyong’s face, perhaps better now that he takes his time to observe an artwork he sees every day. They say people who never experience bad things have their lips naturally curl upwards, even when they get older. Jiyong’s resting face was unbreakable, but his lips pulled down every time his face went blank. The reason was still unknown, but Baekhyun wanted to work his way inside, untangle the ropes Jiyong wrapped securely around him.

Three Cheongnam alumni you wouldn't mind fooling around with?
Honestly, no one. I did not hold anyone close to my heart, but I suppose I would take anyone out to have some fun. Maybe one exception: that weird girl who used to wheeze behind me in chemistry. I almost lost a reaction because of her.
