You and Robert have shared an apartment for about five or more years now. You have been there for him through a lot such as when his dad died and also when he decided he wanted to continue the mecca man tradition. You and him have both spent many restless nights together him up working on the suit and you typing away on your computer for your job. At first he would try to convince you to go to bed, but he quickly learned that you couldn’t go to sleep if he wasn’t there with you because he helped ground you and let you finally shut your drain off. He also knew that you just wanted to spend time with him whenever you could. There were many nights where Robert would come home and still find you awake on the couch with Beef next to you typing like your life depended on it. 

Tonight was no different. He got home and saw you on the couch with your laptop open and Beef curled up next to you. “Hey baby I’m home.” he said when entering the front door. “Hi honey how was patrol?” you asked him. “Ehh nothing too exciting, put out a fire or two and stopped a robbery.” He said while sitting down next to you on the couch. Beef pulled his head up for a moment because he felt the couch dip and then he went back to sleep. Robert leaned on your shoulder and was trying to figure out what you were working on but the screen was hurting his eyes. He didn’t know how you could do this for hours on end. 

He got pulled out of his thoughts when you told him “Oh by the way I left your dinner in the microwave so you can heat it up if you're hungry.” “Will you take a break from your work and eat with me?” He asked in response. “Sure baby” you tell him. You and him make the short walk to the kitchen. Beef was reluctantly following behind because he didn’t want to be alone on the couch and he was hopeful he might get some food. You let Robert heat up the food while you get him and you something to drink. After the microwave beeps you and him both sit at the table. You were talking about some of the emails you had to answer and one of the biggest projects you and your team have worked on all year while he ate. He was nodding along with what you were saying to let you know he was listening. 

When he finished eating he scraped the few pieces of food to Beef. “Here baby you go get changed and I'll wash your plate” you tell him while reaching for his dish with a smile. “Are you sure babe? I feel bad because you already cooked for me” he said to you. “I got it Robert I know you want to get out of your suit and it’s only like three dishes I’ll be fine” you say back. “Ok” he says while walking to your shared room to go change while you take care of the dishes. You are putting up the dishes when you feel his arms wrap around your waist and feel him kiss your neck. 

“Are you ready to go to bed?” He mumbles in your ear. “Almost I just need to finish my draft report for the project” you tell him while turning and kissing his cheek. He groans and says “Baby can you just finish it in the morning it will be there when you wake up lets just go to bed we both need it.” “I just need to type two more sentences I promise” you tell him. “No I know you, after you type those two sentences you will rewrite the whole report and then spend another 30 minutes making sure it’s perfect” “Hey nothing wrong with prefect” you say back. “Nope, time for bed your report will be there in the morning” he tells you while turning you around to pick you up and carry you to bed. “Robert, wait I at least need to plug my computer in” “Nope, I already did it for you so you have nothing to worry about” he tells you. “Fineee” you say when he softly drops you on the bed. He then climbs into bed with you and wraps his arm around your waist and kisses you on the lips and then tells you “Night baby I love you” “Good night baby I love you too” you say back to him with a soft smile. You both close your eyes and fall asleep peacefully in his arms.

You and Herm both got added to Z-team around the same time. Your superhero name is Mindwave and you can move objects with your mind. Robert would normally send you on missions together. At first it was because you were the only person on the team who didn’t bully him. Then he saw how much of a good team you were. So he would normally send you two on missions together.

That led to you two building a friendship and getting really close to each other. You started to develop inside jokes and made a little handshake to celebrate every successful mission you had. You were always patient and let him take his time with his stutter which was normally worse around you but you didn’t pick up on that.

He ended up asking you out a few weeks later after a really long shift. Of course you said yes because you had felt the same way for a while now. You had gone on a few dates and they had gone really well so you thought it was finally time to propose a date idea you had had for a while now. You had remembered on one of the missions you had been sent out together on he brought up something about baking so you thought a cozy baking date at your apartment would be perfect. 

You had just finished up your latest shift and he was walking you to your car when you decided to ask him about it. “Hey Herm, how about we do a date at my apartment tomorrow night?” “S-sure s-sounds goo- great sounds great” he replied. “Perfect see you tomorrow” You told him and then you kissed him and got in your car and drove home excited for tomorrow. 

It was the next day after your shift and you were getting all the supplies set up waiting for Herm.

You hear a knock at your door. “Be there in a sec” you shout while making your way to the door. You open it and see your boyfriend smiling at you. “ H-he… hi baby” Herm says with a smile. “Hi honey you say with a smile and pull him into your apartment. “So I had remembered you brought something about enjoying baking, so I thought we could make some things and give them to the team tomorrow.” You say with a small smile. You see Herm’s face start to break out into a smile “O-ok I like that idea a lot” He says kinda blushing.

You and Herm had started to make a batch of cookies and placed them in the oven so you and him were just talking to pass the time. “So what got you into baking?” you ask him “W-well my grandmother and I used to do it all the time. I-I always loved l-learning new techniques from her. It was the m-main thing w-we would do together.” He says it with a lot of love in his voice. “Well I would love if you showed me some of her recipes sometime. If you want, of course.” “T-that would be really nice s-she had some great recipes.” He basically says it while looking at you with heart eyes. So you think you can mark this date off as a success.

You and Herm had been dating for a few months now. You worked as a dispatcher at SDN while he was on the z-team. Most people are shocked when they find out that he pulled you but you just smile because you love that nerdy boy and his stutter. You love how he is always so soft and gentle with you. 

Today is no different. You wake up to your alarm and a text from Herm. It says Happy Valentine's Day my love. I have a surprise for you after work. P.S dress fancy. You smile and then send back a text saying Happy Valentines Day to you too baby. I’m now looking forward to tonight :). 

You walk to your desk and see a bouquet with a sticky note which is smudged so it’s hard to read but it’s the thought that counts. You pin it in your cubicle and log in to the computer to start your shift. Halfway through your shift you see someone walk up to your cubicle. It's a delivery guy “I have an order for (Y/N)” “Yes that’s me” you say back “Ok this is for you then”. The delivery driver hands you your favorite dish from your favorite restaurant and you smile because you know exactly who sent it.

You finished up your shift and luckily it was calm and as normal a shift as you can get while working to dispatch superheroes. You stayed just a bit longer to see if maybe you could spot your boyfriend to that him for lunch and the flowers. You couldn’t find him so you decided to go to your car to go back to your apartment and get ready.

You touched up your hair, makeup, and try on multiple different outfits. Until you settle on the dress that you wore on your first date with him because you know he remembers the little details and hope he would appreciate it. Also because you're a hopeless romantic and love sappy stuff.

Just as you're slipping on your heels you hear a knock on the door. “He-hello” you hear your boyfriend call out “ “Hey baby just give me a sec and I’ll be right there ""No…no prob- rush… just take your time.” You open the door and see him in a suit trying to straighten out his tie. When he sees you he just stares at you like you are the most gorgeous girl in the world. You stand in your apartment with a smile on your face “Do you like it?” you say while doing a spin. “I-I like no I love it you look gr-great no y-y-you look gorgeous” “Aww thank you honey” you say while kissing his cheek. He gives you a soft smile.

“Wait, I almost forgot something.” You run to your room and grab him the bag with his gift in it. You pass it to him. “Th-thanks (Y/N)” he says while taking the bag in one hand and holding his other arm out to you.

After you get out of your building and go to his car. He opens the door for you. You get in the car and smile at him. He gets in the driver's seat. “So where are we going for dinner?” You ask “We-well I-I was thinking that we g-go to the place wh-where we had our first date.” “Yes I love that idea” you say.

You get to the restaurant and get seated. While you're waiting for your food you two settle into normal conversation. You ask him how his shift was with z-team and he tells you about the places he got sent to. He asks you about your shift. You tell him about some of the more wild calls you had gotten. While you were laughing the food arrived and the conversation slows a little.

“Oh I almost forgot to thank you for the flowers and lunch. I thought it was really sweet.” you say “I-I had hoped y-you would like them” he says back. “I really did. It might have been the best part of my day besides right now” you say back. You both finish up your meal and he pays (like the gentle man he is). Once you get back to the car he pulls out a little box with a bow and he puts it in your hand. You open it and see a ring with both of your birthstones in the band. You gasp at how sweet it is. You slip it on your finger and turn to him “I love it, it's beautiful.” Before he can respond you grab his cheeks and pull him in for a kiss. It was the best way to end the night in your opinion.

You have been on the z-team for awhile now. You're chill with basically everyone except you still get a weird vibe about Sonar. Which everyone else on the team finds crazy because of the obvious you are both hybrids. Although the main reason you don’t trust him is because when you first joined the team you were in the breakroom chatting with Prism and you just feel eyes on you so your antenna stiff up and you turn your head to see Sonar you make eye contact with him but instead or breaking eye contact he just looks you up and down with a smirk and walks out of the breakroom. You not wanting to seem paranoid just turn back to Prism and continue your conversation with her. After that encounter you decided it would be best to avoid being one on one with him out of the fear for your life. You had done a pretty good job at it so far but tonight was just your unlucky night. Robert sent you and Sonar to bust up a late night art heist. You and Sonar are hanging out in the rafters doing your best to keep your distance from him without it being too awkward. Then you hear Sonar “Since we don’t know when they are getting here why don’t we get to know each other a little better?” You deciding to throw all caution to the wind and think fuck it. “Sure why not” you say. “Wanna do 20 questions?” he asks “Alright do you want to go first?” you say “My first question is why do you try so hard to avoid me?” he says. Your first thought is shit shit shit how do you tell him this without sounding like a complete idiot. “I-I don’t try to avoid you” you say really rushed. “Bullshit” he says “You can be honest with me it’s not like I’m going to eat you.” he says with that same damn smirk he had when he looked you up and down in the break room. “Funny you would say that because I don’t know if you know this but in the wild you probably would eat me” you say back with a laugh. He puts his hand on his heart with mock hurt “Just because I’m part bat doesn't mean I have the same appetite as one.” “Then why did you look at me like I was a full course meal on my first day?” “Well since you brought it up I thought you were very sexy and maybe I wanted to fuck you’ “Geeze ask me to dinner first” you say back “Well what if I want you to be my dinner? It’s not too early to make a joke right?” he asks with some nervousness in his voice. You're about to respond but you both hear a CRASH. You tell him to go to the left and you’ll go to the right. You jump down from the rafters and in a few minutes you have the villains knocked out and you know the police will be there to take them soon. You turn back to him with a smile and say “I’m free Tuesday at eight if you are” “Tuesday works for me” he says. “You can take me out to dinner and maybe I can be your desert.” You say with a wink. “I would like that a lot” he says with a smile. “Alright see you Tuesday then” you say as you start to head out of the museum and into the night. “See you Tuesday," he says to you while you're disappearing into the night with a big smile on his face.
