I am one of those lunatics who fucking love dressing up for fancy formal occasions. If I figured out how to get the opportunity, I would go out of my way to have more formal occasions in my life just so I'd get to wear a suit for them. Boyfriend's cousin's confirmation party is today and beforehand I asked his mom if there's any particular dress code. I was reassured that we don't ~have to~ get all dressed up.

i grew up in a family of left leaning hippies (thank god) but i can't stop thinking about the one holiday dinner party where my teenage cousin said something about immigrant hotels and needing to stop the boats and there was like. a pause at the table until our grandpa, a very mild mannered man, just went "now where the fuck did you hear that?" Incredible aura. ive never heard that man swear before or since but man did he pick a perfect time for it.

An anime where the art style seems to have a huge problem with Same Face Syndrome, all the characters fall under like 5 diferent types and every single person of the roughly same age and gender look like the same damn character wearing different wigs. There's a whole episode about how someone changed their haircut and the protagonist spends the whole episode trying to awkwardly avoid situations where they'd be forced to admit to the New Hair Person that they actually aren't 100% sure which friend they are.

Halfway through it turns out that the protagonist is face blind. The art style is deliberately like this as a way to illustrate how they can't fucking tell most people apart by face alone.

when I was in high school my dad was speeding like crazy because I was running late to my job at the cemetery. and the cop who pulled him over gave him three whole tickets because who the hell goes 95 in a 25??? but then, when my dad went to court the cop didn’t show, and so the judge looked over at the charges and just couldn’t believe it. he thought the cop must’ve been so racist that he made it up because who the hell goes 95 in a 25? so my dad got all 3 tickets dismissed bc of racism. that he didn’t even experience because he was in fact going 95 in a 25.
