“You must deal with some very interesting boys.” She grins, trying her best to not laugh. “The boys that are worth it aren’t easy? No. That doesn’t sound right…” Not fair, exactly. “Do you need help fending off boys? I can throw a pretty decent right hook.”

Baby covered her mouth slightly and laughed. “Oh! Wow. I’m sorry I had no idea.” She said. “Mostly just sex driven high school boys. They are kind of like bulls but you grab them by the horns and play them the right way.” She said finally realizing she was probably making it worse. “Don’t worry, I can take care of those boys, just crush their egos and usually they back off for at least an hour Before they think they have a chance again.”

She moved her hand up to adjust the nasal cannula for the other girl to get better access to her lips as she puckered them out for additional help. ‘Heavens, are you sure we’re talking about the same person here?’, Evie spoke, a light shade of pink appearing on her nose and spreading down to her cheeks., ‘I-I think I can take care of myself. Plus, Sylvia was always the beauty between us. ‘

“Language? Oh I’m so sorry, you’re highness.” Baby smirked as she bowed before the queen. “No you’re right. But still, they can’t get mad if you want to add some nice color to your face and have fun... can they?” Baby tipped her head and shoved her friend lightly with a scoff. “Please! You are beautiful, Evie. You have such a perfect face, I’m just giving it some flare for the night with a bit of makeup and I think... I’m just about done.” The whole time she made sure Evie couldn’t see the makeover but giving her hair a few final twists and touch ups she moved. “Now, you can’t look in that mirror and tell me that the girl looking back isn’t beautiful.”

“I swear it was 6 when I got here… What happened?” Time flies when you’re… having fun? Guess the saying’s got a point.

“You could tell them no sex for a week... even though you don’t benefit from that except watching him slowly start begging for it.” Baby said with a sly grin and a laugh. “Boys can be pretty easy though.”

‘But what if my parents get mad?’, Evie pleads ,squirming in the chair before letting out a hefty sigh. After all the events that plagues her life recently, she felt like it was best if she lived as a normal teenage girl for once. Though the poor girl had anxiety rode all in her head, she let out a simple sigh before learning to just give in. ‘I never thought I’d be remotely even closed to anything near the word irresistible.’, she stated with a small smile before nodding, ‘Yes, of course I do.’

“Get mad at you for wearing makeup? If that is the case I will tell them myself that they need to get their pasty asses into the year 2018 and let you have a little fun.” She said moving onto some lipstick. “Oh, stop. That isn’t even remotely true. You’ll see. When I get done with you tonight we are going to head out for a bite to eat and who knows, maybe a few guys might offer to pay for your dinner.” She added with a casual grin at the girl as she slowly began to bring her fingers through the girls curls.

Jughead chuckled as Baby joined in with his jokes. It was a shot in the dark in this town, he was fine being alone and had gotten used to it because his odd and sometimes random commentary caused a lot of people to roll their eyes and walk away, but she didn’t seem to be ready to do so. “I think some jocks are the most closely related to the neanderthal. Evolution works slowly with that group. Though you’d think natural selection would at least weed it out.” He shrugged and popped a chip in his mouth. “The world is even failing at it’s own self-regulatory systems.” He added before chewing down on said chip and looking back to the brunette from the group of heckling teenage boys. “Jughead -” He paused as he started introducing himself, finding his name truly ironic in this conversation. “is my name, despite the seeming relevance to our fellow barbarians.”

“It has to do with the amount of brain injuries those boys suffer on the field I think. I mean a helmet can only help them so much until they just become...well... that.” She motioned to the wild group of boys that could use a really good teaching to about how to act in public. “Half of them are my friends but I swear there is just some part of them that really can only grasp a very basic and caveman like way of life. But as one might say: “at least they are still pretty”.” Baby rolled her eyes and laughed as Jughead spoke. At least one boy seemed to have the right idea around Riverdale. “Jughead.” She said with a light laugh. “It is wildly ironic I will give you that. But it’s nice to meet you, I’m Baby. No, not my real name, but one I like.” She said as most every person she’s come across has to make sure her parents didn’t actually name her Baby, not that she would have minded one bit.

The light was dimmed, his face mainly being covered in shadows as he leaned back into the office chair. ‘To what do I owe this pleasure, Miss Caldwell?’, he spoke bluntly, leaning forward to get a better vision of the girl, “It’s been quite a long time, and I’ve been expecting you.’

Baby had an obvious reason to be nervous. This was the Hiram Lodge. He was like a big shot around here and with rumors that he can be quite ruthless when he wanted to be which was exactly why she did what he said and never asked questions. As she was called to speak she swallowed hard. “I... well it’s my dad. He calls me every other day but it’s been over a week... I’m worried and hoping you might have some word on him. You know, if he is in any trouble?”

I think you need to give me more credit where it’s due.’, he chuckled at her before shaking his head, ‘Reggie Mantle could settle down if he wanted too, but I’m a stallion that can’t be tamed. But my girl is being quite feisty today.’ For some reason, anytime Reggie was friends with females they always seem to have a flirtationship—but that could also be the fact that he wanted to sleep with majority of them too. ‘Oh please, Caldwell. I don’t need to stand around and look pretty. I naturally was born this way.’, he scoffed, as he went to pick up a pole for the tent. ‘You know if the tent doesn’t work out, we could always just cuddle naked.’, he smirked, reaching down to snatch the directions from her., ‘I’m the man, I get to call the shots.’ Reaching down, he grabbed one of the labels pole, and looked confused., ‘Where the hell is the other one?’, he mumbled annoyed.

“That is something that needs to be proven. Maybe that is what this camping trip can be, you can prove to me just how good you are when it doesn’t relate to sports.” She said with a chuckle. Despite Reggie’s ego Baby knew there had to be more to him, which was why she always tried being his friend. “You sound like a makeup ad, pretty boy. Then move your butt and help me around here, we also need to make sure we at least have a fire going, I hear it’s not fun to make one in the dark.” Baby had connected a pole and found wich side it belongs but it was quickly snatched from her hands and she rose her brow with shock. “The only thing you are going to be cuddling with naked is your sleeping bag, my darling Reggie.” It was funny to watch him try and work out the tent and as she took out some of the logs she bought on the way the girl set them up as best she could. “You know... I’d be happy to help the big man out but you look like you have it all going so well for yourself.” Baby had to really work with the fire pit but eventually she did manage to get a pretty basic looking fire started and she was much too proud of her work. “Reggie! Look what I did!”

Jughead was sitting at a table, watching the senior jocks shove each other around and catcall a few girls as they walked by. The seemed almost more free now that Archie was missing from their pack with his disapproving stares and eye rolls. He looked across the table to the brunette staring at her phone. “And here you see jocks in their natural habitat, watch closely and you can see them start picking flees off each other.” His tone was slightly amused, but still held an edge of distaste.

Lost in the world of Hogwarts Mystery the girl had been completely oblivious to the world around her as people were living around her. She almost didn’t even realize the live episode of Planet Earth being displayed right before her until a voice had caused her to look up and turn around to only laugh at Jughead’s comment. “Just watch as the alpha male declares dominance over his pack. They have a fight and only the largest will be seen as the next leader.” Baby added with a laugh. “You would eventually think that they would catch on just how ridiculous they look jumping around like that. Like, doesn’t evolution take play in jocks or are they just that thick headed?”

Some blush was being blotted across Evie’s round cheeks giving them a slight pinkish tone. It had been about Twenty minutes into Baby’s makeover on the girl. She had suggested it just for fun, to see the girl with a new look as she had noticed a change in the girl. “You are going to look so pretty, I promise. And I never break a promise. I’m going to make you irresistible. A jaw dropper.” She paused looking at the girl with a soft smile. “You do trust me don’t you?”

A small scoffed passed his lips as he listened to her words, playing like he was offended. ‘But babygirl, I thought you were supposed to be my one and only.’, he added grinning over to her. As the arrived at the campsite, he began unpacking the gear and suitcases. ‘Baby, does it look like I know how to put up a fucking tent.?’, he responded grabbing the cooler from the back of the car. ‘Your fine ass is going to help me whether you like it or not. I know for a fact you got muscles underneath there. Think of it as a workout.’ As the car unloaded, he smirked to himself proud that all they had to do was set up camp. ‘So where to start, first?’, he questioned.

 “How cute, Reggieboy. I’m your one and only? I didn’t think you could ever settle for such a thing.” She joked placing her hand on her heart and making a fainting motion. “I’m no one and only, not yet anyway.” She could only roll her eyes when he said he couldn’t put up a tent and demanded her help. “You not going to be useless on this trip, You can’t always just stand around and look pretty. Looking around at what they had to work with she took a moment to move some things around before pointing to the tent. “We need to start with that, there is no way I’m not having no where to sleep tonight. It can’t be that hard with directions. Just help me lay it out.” She said as she went to dump out the bag, letting the tent and poles all fall out onto the ground along with a paper telling them what to do. “It says to lay out the tent and feed the labeled poles through the loops...” She said holing one of the poles up.

A wide grin appears across Reggie’s features. He loved for his ego to be boasted up at all times. It’s not that he needed validation because the poor boy was already too full of himself, but he like the validation. ‘Won’t be able to resist me, babygirl?’, he questioned with a small work as he reached over to tug her bottom lip with a wicked grin, reaching down to whisper in her ear, ‘I thought you already couldn’t resist me.’ A deep chuckle escaped past his lips as soon as he removed his lips from her ear, he reached over to ruffle her hair. The two always had a good relationship. ‘I’m not really. I just needed a get a way.’, he responded with a small shrug. He didn’t want to go on too much about it because that entered dangerous territory he wasn’t ready to talk about.

Baby was well aware of what a single compliment did to her friend. She never minded that he was so proud to hear it either and it only amused her when he played into it. She rolled her eyes as he got close to her, biting at her lip and giggling. “Reg, not when I’m driving. Besides, I will always be able to resist you, sweetheart. I just really happen to have a thing for lumberjacks.” She said with a playful wink. She let the radio play between them, adding to the upbeat feeling Baby had bouncing around. “There is no better place like that like the great outdoors. As long as you defend us against the bears I don’t see how we can have a bad time.” She at least had high hopes but who knew what could happen in Riverdale. Baby just happened to be more surprised by how short the ride really took between the two bickering over what to listen to or who would be setting up the tent. Since I drove us out here, I think it’s only fair that the man should put up the tent, that’s all I’m saying.” She shifted around her bags as she started to take them out happy to see the site was actually pretty decent.

“Well we’ve got three larges and I usually don’t eat all of mine so help yourself. Don’t let my mom catch you saying that, She’d probably bust the Tupperware out and start meal prepping for you,” Nancy grinned knowing how overtly motherly her mother truly was. Nancy didn’t let them baby her so any chance they had to baby her friends they took the opportunity. Her mother started looking between Baby and Nancy with some intense kind of curiosity that Nancy had to think to bring up together, was she sizing them up?  “It’s a pleasure to have you, Baby, make yourself at home. Can I get you anything to drink?” Katherine asked, already moving to the kitchen to start pouring lemonade. Nancy rolled her eyes playfully nodding for the other girl to follow her into the living room.  She quickly left Baby’s side to help clean up the glass. Letting the two do formalities  so her mother wouldn’t freak about the mess. “Barba- Baby,” Mr. Woods spoke, clearing his throat. “I apologize for the mess. It’s a pleasure to have you joining us. I’ve heard so much about you,” he grinned, putting his hand out to shake hers. There was some strange in the way he looked at Baby that Nancy couldn’t figure out just yet. Why were her parents so intrigued by the girl they just met? Nancy gave her dad a side eye watching as the glass hit the floor, but moved back to sit on the couch and set up the board game. 

“Great, I just hope your parents don’t think I’m some pig for eating all the food.” she joked. “Don’t tempt me. Like I’ve said before the guy I’m living with is one of those who cooks eggs and thinks it’s a square meal, you can tell he isn’t used to living with other people, he’s pretty busy.” Baby had always known her dad’s friend but he wasn’t very social, she mostly had the house to herself and she felt bored half the time. Turning back to Nancy’s mother she nodded already seeing she was out the room to get the refreshments. It was strange the way the man seemed to look at her and just as she caught the way she thought was her name only to be corrected, she only tried to figure that Nancy gave them the spiel that she likes to be called Baby over Barbra. “It’s great to meet you! Have you really? I hope it’s only good things. She has said a lot about you guys too. Like how you’re some big shot lawyer, that is pretty cool. Thank you so much for letting me join in tonight by the way, sir. I just couldn’t pass up Monopoly and pizza.” Baby said turning to follow Nancy into the living room to help. “You were right, your parents are really nice.”
